Clear Resin. Nice. I'm waiting for someone to use invisible resin. It exists, you just have to look hard to find it ;) I really like creations that also have a practical and useful function. Like a lamp, or even a lamp shade/filter.
The bottom swirl of just brown and tan is awesome somehow I admired that instead of focusing on the progress 😅 but this was awesome first time watching a video from you and won’t be the last!
I like this lamp, it makes everyday things like lead pencils to artful, pleasant and playful new objects. Adding light to a design often increases its appeal too
That turned out great! I made a lamp several years ago, and when I went to put it into service as a bedside lamp, I found myself blinded by the light when I'd turn it on, since I was basically standing directly over it. I managed to find an LED bulb with a silver "cap" painted into it, so it doesn't shine straight up at all. Doesn't light up the whole room, but that's ok!
Have you ever thought about doing something with a bunch of colorful marbles in epoxy? I was thinking like having the marbles towards the outside of the piece & having the inside hollow where you could put a light of some sort that would shine through all of the colorful marbles. I think that it would look pretty cool.
My husband of 57 years just passed away in April. He did woodworking as a hobby, and would of loved to see this I know how much time went into making this. This is absolutely beautiful. And I thank you so much for sharing. Buglady
All your projects are wonderful and professionally produced, but couldn't you have saved quite a few pencils by putting some plane wooden doll/block in the middle, since none of that area is visible?
There are an unlimited number of ways you could build a blank with pencils on the outside and a solid piece of wood on the inside… but you need to consider what it is you’re hoping to achieve from that.. if it is efficiency of materials then your pay off is ‘time’ .. time in planning and building. It can also be wasted time and materials if attempt one two and three don’t work. If this was a product I was developing to produce 1000s of that input of time and materials would pay dividends in efficiency of materials in the long rung.. but if I did that just to produce one lamp that could have been completed as per the video then I’d have wasted a great deal of ‘time’ In my personal opinion, time is our greatest and most valuable commodity, I avoid wasting it as much as possible.
Waste of pencils, yours, mine and whoever else's is watching this, time. What you've got to show are a few close-up images of a lamp, that could have been made equally ugly with different materials and simpler technique.
What are you gonna do with the pencils? It’s a mass produced cheap item available to kids everywhere if he wants a lamp let the man have a lamp. I’m not sure why this bothers you but why watch and leave a comment if you dislike the content just click the don’t recommend this channel button and continue scrolling. This man has put in a lot of effort and he just wants to share what he loves to the world. So why would you hate on his passion?
Jack's teacher (probably): "when i told you to sharpen your pencil, this isn't what I had in mind!"
😆😆😆

Awesome!! Coolest thing I've seen you make with colored pencils.

What a NEAT lamp!!!
For me, clear resin pours are the most satisfying. Sometimes the colored resin overpowers the natural beauty of the wood.
Great to see such a colourful outcome! Would have preferred used pencils but defo appreciate the skills here.
I love the patterns created by the pencils
Nice one again 👌

That would have been nice as a mushroom with the pencils pointing upwards to form the cap of the mushroom, with a dome of blue clear expoxy.
Nice idea. Did you see my video called “the customer made me do it”
👏👏🇧🇷perfeito.
How often do you need to sharpen your chisels, surely the resin is an "edge killer" on yours , nice lamp by the way👍
