I completely agree! I did over 40.000 kms bike travelling in all kind of countries, and either have experienced an attack so brutal. It sure is attempted murder, nothing less.

Unfortunately, there are moronic car drivers everywhere. Clearly, that guy should be charged with assault, and go to prison. I encounter car-driving, selfish, entitled idiots at least once a week here in Frankfurt. It is a pity more are not arrested, or have their vehicles confiscated.
The sad truth is, there's also lots of moronic cyclists around, who behave just as entitled, dangerous and selfish on the road. This leads to almost war on the road sometimes. That's why i said just a little bit more patience, respect and understanding from all sides would go a long way.

We had two close calls with stupid drivers while traveling by bike on the Istria peninsula like 15 years ago. One of them it was with a car coming in the opposite direction. Very frightening.
I guess every single cyclist, as well as car driver has at least one close call to tell about. Which is a really sad statistic. I just don't understand the "me come first, f off, this my road" mindset that you often encounter on roads. Very frightening indeed!
Trailers are my biggest fear after nearly getying my leg ripped off years ago. I felt the shart front edge and i was going fast enough to react a swerve away. Drivers pull iver frim you but forget that the trailer follows the truck it car pulling it at a slower rate.
I got some Schwalbe now since a month or two. Sadly it's only "Smart Sams", couldn't find anything other. Already had 3 punctures with them too. One day hopefully i'll get some Marathon plus :D

It happened to me in Panama and it’s extremely frightening, I ride solo and won’t put any blame on you but when riding with others on busy roads, stay focus on the road and traffic and ride in a line not side by side, two loaded bikes take a lot of space! You can stop for a drink and chat or camp together and have a nice conversation and dinner. After what happened to me in Panama I analyzed what happened and admitted my errors, at the end we risk our lives and car drivers have nothing to lose. Stay safe brother! By the way I’ll be riding the Swiss alps this summer 😎
You're 100% right. That's exact reason why we took this road instead of the main road. There was like one car every 5-10 minutes. On the other hand, there's absolutely no difference between a group of cyclists and a farmer with his traktor and a trailer, which should be expected on a rural road like we were there. Except, the group of cyclists get a lot of hate. A car driver should be able to react to any possible hindrance on the road, otherwise i can't really justify why they're allowed to pilot a two-ton death machine. It's all about adapting to the current situation :) Or is my thinking delusional? Swiss alps, nice! Which are are you going? Safe travels, mate!

Yeah i had to switch because of back pain. A touring unicycle is just a little bit too heavy for me. It really depends actually. There's lots of situations where i wish i had the unicycle. But also many situations where having two wheels comes in really handy. Everything has its pros and cons i guess :) Thanks, you too! Much love ❤️
That's right, it's their fault. I don't know where you're from, but where I live there is absolutely no rule or law that states cyclists must ride single file. That driver is a sociopath, don't indulge in whataboutery....
You should have went to the nearest police station with that footage and accident, at least to get such drivers off the road and avoid killing a cyclist someday....

You won't hear anything from them, video evidence is not recognized in our stupid primitive countries where automobile culture dominates and where cyclists are seen as untermensch... I have a full hdd of close calls and one time I was knocked off the bicycle was brushed off since "it's illegal to fall of the bicycle". Other than this, it's a very pretty vlog!
Thank you very much! I have a very much different experience now. Maybe it's just because the incident basically happened right next to the EV8, and there's *lots* of cyclists. They probably have to take these matters more serious than somewhere out in the middle of nowhere. Just saying this because like two days ago i recieved a letter from them with a fine of 60€, because, as i learned now, it's illegal to cycle next to each other. Fair enough, can't really argue with that. I just hope the driver got a fine too :)
@@LostSpoke omg I was assuming they would dismiss everything because of parallel riding, but to fine you... 🤦🏻♂️ I barely avoided a fine for falling off the bicycle, but I've heard of people being counter-sued for recording the accident and losing the case with a fine of 1000e, believe it or not. Balkan is crazy, I would never tour through there, I recently moved to Switzerland and it's heaven!

I wouldn't generalize it like that. Mostly it's no problem at all! The sad reality is, some cyclists give more than enough reasons to be hated. Also, people in traffic tend to be stressed, further increasing impatience and agression. I totally understand when cars and trucks are annoyed because they have to break because of me, especially uphills. Depending on the situation i'm no different when driving a car. But i'd never hit a cyclist on purpose!
I'm also pedestrian, cyclist, and delivery van driver. I know how annoying cyclist groups can get on narrow heavy traffic roads, like mountain passes and such. On rural roads with a good view to the front tho, i couldn't care less. Everyone has the right to use roads. Just a little bit more common sense would help, from all sides :)

Might be. Although his honking and driving style tell a different story. Just look how sharp he turns to the right as he was basically next to us. There was no oncoming traffic and you could see more than far enough to avoid such a maneuver. But again, who am I to judge :)

Croatia was the worst place among Balkan countries for me when I was bike touring 5 years ago just before Covid. Those drivers made me nuts.

Get Deutsche Schwalb tyres! Fifteen years of cycling and no punctures! A few failed inner tube valves, but no punctures.😮😊

It's not different than a tractor or a slow car.... drivers who can't wait to pass safely are terrible drivers....
