Tip for those who want to cycle in the Low Lands; wind usually comes from the south-west so go along the coast to the north, on the way back south more inland to avoid the headwinds. Better to be blown away by the cities and landscape than...
Mate, i have I have done all sorts of cycling a lot (from track, racing, gravel, bike packing and touring) but this video (for me) encapsulates what its all about - freedom & enjoyment!!! Chapeau, as they say. Also I watch a lot of cycling on RUclips and this was a perfect video! PS do you have the GPX file of this trip?
@@geofftrimm thankyou so much for the kind words! Really nice to hear 😊 I don’t have one saved but the route is up on my Strava if you want to check it out!
The saddest part of the journey back is going from being respected as a fellow road user to being disrespected and seen as a nuisance. The same goes for pedestrians. As is shown in this video from the channel Not Just Bikes about safer sidewalks. ruclips.net/video/9OfBpQgLXUc/видео.html
Sterling trip, after just buying another bike following 11 years without one, i feel its such a shame that the UK see cyclists as a nuicence, Cardiff at least is spending millions on cycle paths through the city, roads scare me now, 11 years ago they didn't, you have a great attitude, keep it up mate
@@richardlewis9868 thankyou for the kind words Richard! It is an incredible shame the way the UK sees cyclists. I think because in continental Europe cycling is used across the board as a transport method by so many, vehicle drivers understand the cyclists viewpoint. In the UK though it seems to be you’re either a cyclist or a driver. And if you’re a driver you don’t understand the cyclist at all. Hopefully it will change!

@@bikingvikingrides Here in The Netherlands vehicle drivers are also cyclists. That's why they understand the cyclists' viewpoint.
