there ain't no way Aang would train somebody as Zaheer, Zaheer however was already an adept martial artist prior to receiving airbending, that's what helped him somewhat with airbending techniques
Dude. He's from the red lotus pf course he have knowledge and the resources to get the information and tactics whenever of what ever. Plus he knew about guru lahima the juice wrld of airbenders he's had that airbendering chi even if he wasn't
I think an air acolyte defected and joined the previous crew (with the other element represented as well) of red lotus that taught the new generation (the current one we see), and they were all tought the ways of all bending so they can defeat it. Zaheer probably got facinated with the air culture and favored the air acolyte more and became a psudeo air acolyte!
It would really make sense if they practiced air bending choreography as a festival dance or maybe that he knew by a vision by a spirit when he was small and exploring an air temple
Bending is based on martial art formation & motion. Zaheer spent a lot of time meditating & practicing his martial arts in his solitary sentence. He spent over 10 years alone so there isn’t much to do but reflect on spiritual matters & exercises. Since he wasn’t a bender, the guards might of been kind & gave him some books or scrolls of techniques.
I understand my view of zaheer probably doesn’t match a lot of peoples, I don’t see him as some OP air bender that just came from nowhere. We know from toph there isn’t just one way to bend, how much of the air nomads pacifist stuff was cultural and not actually based on air bending? How much was it based on fear? An angry or impulsive air bender child could kill anyone that comes near them with pretty minor bending compared to the other elements. Just block their airways. When aang found the destroyed air temple full of dead fire nation soldiers, the air bender suffocated them all. Zaheer isn’t some powerful air bender with capabilities like none that came before him, the air masters knew air nomads could be some of the most ruthless violent killers . Zaheers a normal man using air bending, air nomads are peaceful because had they gone the fire nation route no one would have survived. Couldn’t a powerful air bender create conditions so a firebenders abilities are useless?
Naw cus nobody recognized him when he went to air bender island acting like he wanted to be recruited he looks younger then Ang’s kids so weird none of them recognized him

There's no way this could possibly be true. The whole point of the aftermath of Hormonic Convergence was that random people were gifted with air bending so that the Air Nation would be reborn. It wouldn't have blessed someone that's already squandered their talents.

But was it foolish? Probably.
Zaheer is said to be martial arts expert according to the avatar wiki. He could just include airbending in his moves, hence his more aggressive style.
