I really like your approach. You have a very professional approach to your playing. You make fun out of professional work. It is a blast to see you put all these out Cyrus.
I was at this show and was just reminded about the little kid that got to go on stage and do a stage dive! That was a memorable show for sure. You guys kicked ass!
The little kid on the front row... absolutely loving it. Then his dad I assume, lifts him up and let's him crowd surf... what a great moment to have on video
Cyrus you are with out a doubt in my top 5 favourite drummers!! Along with Tre cool, Derek Grant, Danny Thompson and Byron Mcmackin. Keep em coming dude!
Possibly...unfortunately I don't have the multitracks for our earlier albums, including this one, but I do have the newer records. I've also thought about play-throughs of songs, but I just have to find the time to setup and record those, and not in a live setting so I can concentrate on playing along to the record to keep it at the album tempo!
Thank God it's Monday again! :) That little boy in front row is having ALL the fun. That show was actually 2 days before the Fort Collins one. I still hope you also have a video from that night... I miss NFG shows so much and to think it will take forever until I see y'all again drives me nuts! :(
I checked and I do have videos from Fort Collins, however the angle isn’t the best (I had the camera on the wall behind me and not on my side), and the audio isn’t that good either. I’ll still look to see if I can post something from that show one day...or maybe I’ll just post the whole show!
@@CyrusBolooki The whole show? Now that would be so hilarious! Please post it rather sooner than any later. :) I'd love to see that for sure and I don't care if it's a bad angle or bad audio. I take every little piece from that night as it was one of my top 3 fav NFG shows ever. Actually, I just checked my pics from that night and I have one of you where I can see the camera if I zoom in. It was just a little bit above your head, right? So yeah, please post the whole show!!
LOL that cymbal mute and bell hit @ 3:00! You're hilarious. Definitely one of my favs from Sticks & Stones. Here's a question...You've played guitar for many years as well. Do you have a setup at home as well..electric and amp? Thanks!
The bell hits are for sure influenced by early Korn records. Their original drummer did that stuff all over their first two records! I do have a few guitars at home, although I've ditched the amps in recent years in favor of a computer and plugins. Easier to carry around and play whenever I want. But I am (fortunately) the proud owner of a Gibson Les Paul Custom and a Fender Strat, as well as a Fender P-Bass, an Ibanez Acoustic, and even a Danelectro Baritone guitar. I think I got them all...hahaha. If you want to see some footage of me playing guitar, head over to the New Found Glory RUclips page for videos of us jamming our songs acoustic with me playing guitar! Thanks for the question!
Yeasssss more of this style please. Newer stuff seems to fall more like Simple Plan and cheesy. I think it has to do with vocal melodies and lyrics. Not Without A Fight was gold.
That’s “grip tape,” the rough tape that you put on skateboards to help keep your feet from sliding off the board. I use that on my pedals so that even if it’s super hot and sweaty in a club my feet don’t lose their grip on the pedals. I first started using it on Warped Tour, when we would have to play after it had been raining all day and the entire stage was super wet...this was the only way to have at least a little traction on your pedals.
Hit Or Miss. The main riff was from a jam that I wrote in my bedroom while messing around with an old cassette multitrack recorder. I showed that riff to Chad and he asked if he could take it and try and rewrite a song using it, so I said "sure" and the rest is history.
Wow, that's really awesome! I watch that music video from time to time. I was in 8th grade when that song came out. The Nothing Gold Can Stay and Self titled albums were the soundtrack to the funnest years of my life. So thank you for that.
Actually it hasn’t. Last time we played it was 3/25/2018 at The Republik in Honolulu, Hawaii. If you’re wondering how in the world I had this info, that’s easy...I went to setlist.com, a website that tracks setlists. We’ve been uploading our setlists to this site for well over 15 years now (thanks to Ian’s brother Jarrett who actually inputs all of the sets for us). We use the site all the time, including to see old sets to use them as starters for sets for upcoming shows...it’s a great site; you should check it out!
Love the kid at the front row on 0:55, hope to see you live at least once, it´s on my bucket list.

Thank you very much. As you pointed out, I definitely enjoy what I do. Thanks for noticing!

Loving these videos!

Keep em coming Cyrus. Love watching these vids and getting your perspective from the stage.
FUCK YEAHHHHHHH!!!! KEEP 'EM COMING!
Would you ever consider doing "track break downs" with the multi tracks and just sharing how the songs were made and stories etc.?
Possibly...unfortunately I don't have the multitracks for our earlier albums, including this one, but I do have the newer records. I've also thought about play-throughs of songs, but I just have to find the time to setup and record those, and not in a live setting so I can concentrate on playing along to the record to keep it at the album tempo!

These videos are helping my New Found Glory withdraws 💔💔💔💔
Hey Cyrus, what are these tapes on the floor pedal, I see it on many drum but I don't know the name, Greetings from Ecuador!!!

Which ride is that? I love the sound. About a year ago I switched to a K Custom Crash/Ride from an A sweet ride for heavier playing.
21" A Custom 20th Anniversary Ride. I love it. It's the Sweet Ride with a little more of a "ride" sound.
@@CyrusBolooki awesome, thank you! I can definitely see why you love it!
Hey Cyrus, what is your absolute favorite song to perform
I've been watching your acoustic videos and was wondering, have you ever written a NFG guitar riff?
Hit Or Miss. The main riff was from a jam that I wrote in my bedroom while messing around with an old cassette multitrack recorder. I showed that riff to Chad and he asked if he could take it and try and rewrite a song using it, so I said "sure" and the rest is history.

Hey Cyrus, as always thank you for posting these each week. Any chance of "Sonny" ? Would like to see the hi-hat work on it.
I think you’ll be pleased come this Monday 😉
