I love watching the yogscast doing these at Christmas time although they do the actual books ( with someone drawing it as it goes on it's really interesting) so id love to watch these as well when i have the time. Ive played one or two as well and i find the fantasy and storytelling aspect good , only real complaint about the books in general are instant death endings for everything especially when it's for a really vague reason like not having powdered Minotaur horn to stop the mouse from turning into a dragon. Even if you lived in this fantasy world im not sure that using it would occur to you if you did manage to find it in whatever cranny it was in.
Yep. Ian Livingstone has no problem flat out murdering a twelve year old. There is no room for error here. Deathtrap Dungeon was notorious for that. 30+ years later, I have still never beaten it without cheating.
Ironically ive only played two .. one was a app that happens to be death trap dungeon ( i never finished it i might get back to it sometime.) i didn't know that was part of a thing at the time though. These books completely passed me by when i was young but mainly because i live in a small town. The other was the sorcery one they had released.
Forest of Doom was the first FF book I ever read/played. It's neat that they have the books in an on-line format but nothing will beat a physical book.
Insta-like! I found this video incredibly interesting - it's like story time with Dave! ;) Everyone needs some nose-filters. I reckon that was a superb choice, Childhood Dave. I'll be checking in!
Played the original when I was around 12 years old back in the early 80s. Think I will be giving these ago so won't be watching the full video until I have finished myself 💙✌
I loved these books as a kid, I used to get told off at school for rolling dice during reading class, didn't know they had made digital versions until I saw chatter about it in your Fallout 4 livestream
@@WeeHoursGamesyeah I actually started re-collecting them again about 10 years ago, I think I have close to 20 of them but I moved house a couple of times since and they're in a box somewhere with my Dragonlance novels until I get some bookshelves set up in the man cave near the pot belly after I get that installed. They recently (when I say recently I mean in the last 2 or 3 years geez I'm starting to feel old lol) reprinted a lot of them too with fancy new covers but I loved the original artworks and the illustrations inside them too. I think Forest of Doom was the first one I did, If i remember right there was an infinite loop somewhere in the forest maze bit where you could just keep going back and collecting 1 gold each time. There was a game way back on the original PS1 of Steve Jackson's Deathtrap Dungeon but it wasn't really a representation of the book it was more like a tomb raider type 3d (oldskool 3d) platformer.
The best part of your videos, Dave, is that you can change your voice to play the voice of other characters (younger, older, softer, grumpier), and that is amazing!
Where/How can I buy this please? I can't find anything about where to purchase and download a computer game. Everything I see is about the paperback. Please include a link.
I remember there were reports of kids flying after rrading these books. And that you were interacting with the devil if you read them loooool also I had all of the books bar like maybe 5. Hang in Imma find the full list. I just checked the list I was missing 7.
If you see this that means you watch old series... (or there's a feature that I don't know about like somebody who subscribed to me and I didn't do anything...)

ruclips.net/video/18nFSmsrF-Q/видео.html Is a great playthrough of Sorcery.
You know you have found the right people to hang around with when we all start geeking out about these books!! I loved them so much as a kid!
Lai Quen I hadn't heard of these books, but being a big kid I reckon I can start now, right? ;)
With no real computer games, and D&D still in its infancy, these books were IT at the time. And they still hold up well today.
You're never too old to start!
Nice..i was 12 in 1983 also..i had almost the whole set of Fighting Fantasy gamebooks..Deathtrap Dungeon being my favourite;)
I freely admit I have never beaten Deathtrap Dungeon without cheating.

This game has a really interesting art style. Thanks for sharing.
It's the original artwork by Iain McCaig, colorized. He would later go on to design Darth Maul for the SW prequels.
I know I'm late to the party, but thanks so much for this! I had no idea there was a proper digital version of this old gem.
Thanks! There's a bunch of them, including a full version of Sorcery
@@WeeHoursGames Thanks, I'll definitely be checking them out!

Nose filters are more important than I thought...check the next episode. Thanks for checking in, always good to see you.
You are too kind my good Sir. You've done a grand job of covering this, time to settle in and see how you handle the Forest of Doom...
Thank you. Looking forward to more Sorcery from you!

And there's plenty of them, too

nice
Thank you! Glad you liked it. Episode 2 will be out tomorrow, when we get into the meat of the game.

It's on Steam. Just search there for any of the Fighting Fantasy books.
is this a mobile game or a pc game or? where to get it?
It's on Steam for PC

I love delving deep into a creator's catalog. You never know what you'll find.
Yeah but someone or something auto-subscribed to me...that's really weird (and creepy)
No digital fingers here.
Sadly, no ;)
