I really enjoy watching your videos. This gives me a really good idea of what cruising with Royal Caribbean is like. We're booked for our first cruise with them this November!
What a fun cruise that was! It was so nice to meet you both on the Boardwalk and we hope to see you both on a future cruise real soon! Take care y’all…looking forward to more videos on the beautiful Allure!
Enjoyed the video. I can tell y'all were having a ball. My turn soon! I was looking for a video detailing the parking and checking in processes when I stumbled onto your vacation videos.
Wife and I have only cruised on carnival and we finally cruised Royal on 1/6/23. We did allure and loved it. What date were you on Allure? Loved the oceania show and mamma mia.
So glad I found y’all’s channel! Great video! My sister and I are going to cruise on Allure out of Galveston later this year and were wondering how it was. We’ve always cruised from Florida. Also - Monica - your maroon dress is so cute! Where did you find it?! Gig’Em! 👍🏻
The plant situation is probably from that arctic air that came down just before Christmas. We are in Oklahoma City and it basically killed every green plant back to the ground. I imagine the cruise ship being in Galveston might have had some of that affect their plants. They also probably selected the plants based on the Florida location?
The reason there is not a lot of champagne options on embarkation is part of the TABC rules just the same as the liquor options until you get out to sea.
Hello, thank you for this video. It was really helpful. I will be cruising end of this year with 2 young children. Is Galveston/Houston airport area safe to explore on our own? (In your opinion)
Hey Carolina, I would think a bottle warmer would be a no but a hair iron yes. However, I would refer you to this website: www.royalcaribbean.com/faq/questions/prohibited-items-onboard-policy
Can you tell me about the port of Galveston…my MIL can’t stand for very long and usually gets a wheelchair for embarking. Do you think it’s needed at this location? I never really see the crowds. Thanks.
There’s plenty of seating inside the terminal. I’ve always just gone straight to the ship when I checked in and went through security. Stick to your port arrival time and it should be fine. But if there’s any question whatsoever, email the special needs department for RCCL
Hey Caleb! Our friends over at royacaribbeanblog.com have those on their website. There’s a link at the top of the screen that has the old cruise compasses. Thanks for watching!
@Fairytale Journeys by Monica & Zach happy days. They need to update their app though because it still says masks and also when I did online check in their too. Thank you so much for the response
I’m pretty unhappy this ship is coming back to Galveston in 2026. Not that I hate allure but I really wanted Symphony or wonder. Instead they’re sending new ships up to NYC which I really believe is where ships like Grandeur or Voyager should go. Also we literally just had it so I know it’s not gonna be much of a success
The good news is that Allure will have its Amplification before it arrives in Galveston. That means that Allure will be the newest Oasis-class ship to have undergone a major modification. Once it gets that, it may actually be better than Symphony and compete with Wonder and Utopia. We'll just have to wait and see, but I enjoyed Allure as it is but can't wait to see what the next phase looks like!
@@GetbyZach One can only hope so. I almost went on Allure last year but backed out and waited for Harmony once I realized how little stuff there was on board. I also kept reading that Allure always felt overbooked due to this. I have read a few rumors that the amplification isn’t going to happen but I don’t see that being the case. Hopefully the Allure we see pulling in in 2026 isn’t the Allure we saw back in 2022. I guess I can only hope that Allure is holding the spot while Symphony finishes up in NYC. I should’ve really not expected Symphony be in Galveston because only 2 years in NYC seems awfully short especially since it’s only there for the summer. I know they had oasis in NYC before Symphony but I have no clue how long they kept it there before moving it.
Oops, the key is not free though. Costs $35 a day per person. Up to $490 for a couple on a cruise! Yikes. We will be on Allure again for the 4th time in September...one of our faves also.
It does cost but the majority of that is recouped by the included VOOM Internet and the welcome Chops lunch in the main dining room. That along with priority embarkation/disembarkation and delivery of carry-ons to the room make it a good value for me.
Thanks!
Thank you Lattie!!

That’s so great Jen!! So glad we could help and thanks for the comment!
Thanks for posting this! We go on this exact cruise in March, and this is getting me super excited!
That's excellent Sheridan, hope you have a fantastic trip!

So good to meet you too Shari! Thanks for coming to talk to us!
Ricardo at On Air is the absolute best!!!
So much fun!

Aww well thanks for sticking around and watching David! Hope you have a fabulous trip!
The look on your face when you took a sip of that bloody mary had me dying LOL. I can't drink them either so no judgment from me
Thank you! I’ll try it again someday I’m sure.
Hey man, I was there too from the 15 to 22 january
Hope you had a great time Marco! Thanks for the comment!

This cruise was January 6-10, 2023
Oh boy

Thanks so much Kate!! Monica got the dress either at Maroon U or Aggieland Outfitters in College Station! Gig 'Em!!! 👍🏻

Was thinking the same thing Alanna about the plant selection. Not sure it would have made a difference at 21 degrees.
They will eventually be replaced...no worries,

That's wild Kevin and it's wild that as many times as I have sailed out of Galveston I'd never encountered that before. Good to know for the future!

Thanks for the comment? It really depends: are you renting a car? If not there’s not a lot to do on foot unless you Uber to an area closeby
Hi there i have a question, 😊 can we bring electronics stuff like a bottler warmer( for formula baby) ? And hair iron? Thank you so much

Could you post your cruise compass for this trip? We are going in April and are curious of what is currently happening on board!

we'll be on there, cant wait!
Gig 'Em
Gig "Em Nancy!! Whoop!
Glen
Braden
Which was your favorite specialty restaurant? (If you had to close only one) We’re going on Allure at the end of April.
On Allure it would be between Izumi Hibachi and 150 Central Park depending on your taste.
@@GetbyZach Thanks for the great video and suggestions!
Plants really look sad. They were really nice in December.
It was a bit sad, but they'll be back!
Texas got hit with a really hard freeze back in December. The Allure must have been in port at Gavelston at the time.
We heard a rumor that RCL was eliminating large ships cruising out of Galveston. Is there truth to that?
I wouldn't think so considering the new terminal that was just built that could hold an Icon class ship.
Were masks required in the terminal building?
Nope!! All covid restrictions have been removed
@Fairytale Journeys by Monica & Zach happy days. They need to update their app though because it still says masks and also when I did online check in their too. Thank you so much for the response
Bloody Mary’s isn’t my thing either 😢
I'm just not into spicy drinks period. Jalapeno margaritas are much worse.

You must really enjoy watching yourself talk. Next time try filming what your talking about other than yourself.
Aww Jerry, you don't like looking at us? My feelings are hurt. J/K. Always looking to improve, thanks for watching.
