Thank you. In my Adobe Photoshop Elements 2023 I don't have part of options in the Edit menu (Content-aware fill) but still managed to do the blur (without gaussian correction)
thank you for an other inspirational first class tutorial, but please could you make another using affinity photo for those of us who cant afford photoshop.
Solved! :) the layer was a smart object so had to rasterize it to turn it back to normal layer and after that the issue was solved and could continue with your great tutorial! Thank you! keep it up!
I have followed this word for word , watched and copied as I went but for some reason my the Gaussian blur is covering where my subject is not the other part.
Are you sure you didn't apply the blur to the layer with the mask? You want it on the background layer I think. Or try inverting your mask (ctrl i) not sure if that'll help but it's worth a try
I think your masking feature may have become inverted. Try this. Open an image in Photoshop. Find the quick mask icon in the Tools Palette on the left of the screen. It's usually second from the bottom and shows a white rectangle with a dotted circle inside it. Double click the icon which opens a small dialog. This should be set to Masked Areas but may have been changed to Selected Areas. Change it to Selected Areas and then click OK. Restart Photoshop and then follow the instructions in the video again to see if it then works. This is just a guess but I've seen people have similar problems to yours in the past because this "hidden" setting was changed.
I followed it all until it got the adding the Gaussian layer...however often I replayed it, I just couldn't get it to work. Not helped that my 2024 version doesn't look exactly the same....😐😐
nice. but i think its geared towards advance people. need some explanation as to why you have to remove the man from duplicate layer and why the duplicate layer is in the middle stack. Glyn Dewis has more of an elementary explanation that makes slow learner or noob like people really gets it. but its good. i can follow it Verbatim but really not knowing the rationale behind blurring the background. cheers.
Pretty cool but I wouldn't say "easy". So many steps to remember. I would prefer a simpler way to get some background blur. Usually I'm looking to add just a little more to say mimic a faster lens.
Thanks. It may help if you check my written article as it breaks it down into tte hree stpes: lenscraft.co.uk/photo-editing-tutorials/blur-background-photoshop/
One you've done this a few times it can be accomplished really quickly. And you can create actions for some of the steps, too. I do this a lot and the whole process typically takes less than a minute.
Out of all the tutorials on youtube that had me frying my eyes for hours, yours did it for me. Thank you🙌🏽
It's wonderful to hear that I've saved your eyes. Hopefully you didn'g get too frustrated before you found what you needed. Thank you.
Thank you for a detailed step by step explanation. You don't assume the viewer knows a lot about Photoshop. I love your informative video.

thank you for an other inspirational first class tutorial, but please could you make another using affinity photo for those of us who cant afford photoshop.
Thanks. It's on the list but isn't easy to do. I don't want to publish something that's difficult to follow.
very nice tuto !
Thank you very much.
Thank u dude(bro)
You're welcome!
I couldn't get this method to work after adding so many layers to do my retouching. I'm guessing this step has to be done first, then retouch after.
Do it first. If you want to do it later create a Stamp Layer that created all the other layers.
Buenísimo me sirvió de mucho... Gracias
Estoy muy complacido. De nada.
eccellente...
Thank you
Stuck with "Content-Aware Fill" option grayed out in Adobe Photoshop CC... any ideas?

How were you able to do that.
I also got stuck with “Content-aware Fill” option
El único que dio el tutorial con todo lo que sirve, gracias!!
De nada. Me alegra que te haya funcionado.

@@yinusaabayomi6541 I did find another video that explained it very well- thank you.

Did you read the tutorial that I linked to in the video description? You might find that helpful and explains more.
@@RobinWhalley thanks Robin. will do.

@@quirkworks4076 Fantastic. I'm pleased that it's working well for you.
too fast !!!!🙃
Sorry, but I do get people saying that I'm too slow and they need to watch the playback speeded up. Perhaps try slowing it down in the RUclips player.
You can control speed on RUclips window
I hate photoshop my head in getting fkked
Too many steps. You lost me at smart objects
You may be better trying the Lens Blur feature in Lightroom if you have access.
