Good video . I wish you can show clearly where to insert the cable into the Shifter as well as the FD. Those areas are still a mystery to me after watching your video.

Thank you. Used this to upgrade 12 speed ultegra shifters using a connection to the front mech CABLE (not mech) to save messing with my seat post adjustment. My tips I learned. 1. Use an TL-EW300 cable tool it really makes a difference. Disconnected software carefully each time I plugged or unplugged something and watched the mech go to sleep first. On connecting the 2nd shifter initially the app didn’t see it wired so disconnected from the app, let it go to sleep and disconnected at the front mech and reconnected (I hadn’t disturbed this connection when switching which shifter I hard wired at the bars… but the system must want to forget the other one first) and it worked. So all in all an excellent video and thanks for sharing.
Tip for anyone doing this for the fist time, lime me when I did this update today: at first, I couldn't get the shifters to show as wired in e-Tube, until I worked out that you have to push the cable into the sockets (on both battery and shifter) very hard, hard enough to make you worry about breaking something. After that, the process went just as in the video. Update for the battery and both derailleurs also dropped in the last few days, so I had a lot of updating to do!
Appreciated. Best demo out there. I have the same issue. Just one of the levers won’t upgrade wirelessly. Still works but being a perfectionist. It should be the most recent firmware.
So glad i found this video months ago. Anticipated the need for the cables and junction and pre-ordered them to arrive the same time as the bike. Ride safe sir.
Do you have any trouble shooting? I connected the shifter to the front derailleur via the cables & port but the E-TUBE app did not change at all with the buttons staying greyed out. The cables are all connected (audible click).
I did the Update, completed just fine and then my levers didnt work. Solved it by unpairing the levers in the app and then readding them. Just FYI if anyone gets the same issue.
Out of curiosity you wrapped the battery in bubble wrap. Was it rattling before that? Trying to track down a knock noise over bumps from my wife’s new Emonda. Pretty similar build to yours.
Just curious how it works internally. e.g. would it work if you just connect it to separate battery or just to some other power source (if you have enough skills)?
Love Shimano but to me they seem years late every time... those new Dura aces use more cables than my 105 mechanical groupset and it's kinda absurd. Changing 2 mech cables is quicker than upgrading 2 controls firmwares :D At the end I prefer the SRAM approach: no cables and different batteries.
