Good to know, definitely showed me some things since I just got a 04 camry. I just used the tape adapter and plugged the aux into a Bluetooth xmitter/receiver. Call it my 007 gadget lol

Great tutorial! My only suggestion is to zip tie the wires to some areas that the wires are fed through/around, that way if the panels and stuff are ever taken apart in the future, it wont fall all over the place and cause a hassle to put everything back together. Just a minor issue lol. THANKS!

After using this for at least half a year, I have some feedback. The most annoying problem is that when my phone connects automatically, it never plays the sound right away. I have to turn off and on Bluetooth on my phone every time I get into the car. And even then, it still doesn’t work sometimes, and I have to actually restart the car to get it connected. I often have to just use the aux cable but that defeats the purpose of paying for the Bluetooth.

Why did you guys not take advantages of the 12V DC socket and built an adapter for the same purpose? I have a Toyota Camry 2005, my stereo is Toyota 16860. Will GTA Car kit work with my stereo? for people that are wanting to do this I see that is is too much especially when you can buy an FM transmitter plugging it in via the cigg lighter area for as low as 20 dollars in walmart,target no need to risk all that time just for this hope this helps !

Most like my 119 buck alpine has Bluetooth xm Sirius USB and cell phone jack for hands free speaker. Plays as good as jbl that cd player jammed on. Damn multi disc players do that . Have had 3 alpine cd players since they came out first lasted 10 yrs still worked when I sold car. Second one lasted 8 yrs and more, used in 3 vehicles last sold one pulled it gave to lil sister players until she sold car. The on in camry is 5 yrs and going fine 119 with mount kit and wires to use jbl Amp from Crutchfield, great place for car audio great and cheap

BEWARE. this is old tech. Now you get a Bluetooth transmitter/reciever that plugs into your cigarette lighter. It will transmit via your FM Radio by whatever frequency you set it to. Pair with phone, listen to phone music apps, answer phone. All hands free. The transmitter will have a USB charger you can plug you phone into as well when needed. On Amazon.
