My Favorite Band EVER from idk DAY ONE! Heard Round Here what about 30 years ago and I melted!! Now I’m in my 50’s - my kids grew up listening to Counting Crows CONSTANTLY .... They know all your songs and words by heart. Now they’re in their 30’s and we JAM OUT with my grandchildren to MY BELOVED COUNTING CFOWS!! They will all remember me by your songs bc I’m THAT FAN! ✌️♥️ I LOVE YOU ADAM!! ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
Seen them many times - first heard them in Alaska when I walked into a store in the middle of nowhere and blown away. Just seen them last week in London - good as ever - opened with Mrs. Potter's Lullaby and went from strength to strength - the best live band in the world.
My sister treated me to a concert in New York with them for the recording of at the ten spot, many years ago, and I will never forget the experience. I was so impressed when Adam came out to greet us as we were on line waiting to get in before the concert. He knew some of the concert goers by name. I love this band.
Thank you so much for this video!no problem I shared this link to the Vevo Mr Jones video. Counting Crows,Cranberries, Pearl Jam, Smashing Pumpkins, other 90s, had a profound effect on me;their music almost literally, brought my mind back from the dead. I lived in Manhatten until 92,when I moved back home to Miami (south Dade county)in the summer;intending to start vet school a few weeks later. A week after I got there,Miami was destroyed by Hurricane Andrew;our house ,hundreds of thousands of houses, lives, we're destroyed. It was like doomsday had come. No electricity for the next 7months,no store, no roof or exterior walls!,no phones, and the majority of the population got in their cars,if their cars were driveable;and, moved up north,or to other states. Thousands of starving abandoned pets walking in the deserted garbage pile streets. This is when I became involved with rescue;and stayed very busy, overwhelmed in that altered reality.Rebuilding the areas happened over several years, and our house took almost 2 years to b rebuilt. I never saw a tv,watched TV,radio, like, nothing ,until I moved back into my house and finally bought a new TV! It was; in about '95,96;,that I became re-aware of the world beyond Miami, ..then w internet in 96 or 97;,and that there was all this incredible music that had been out for years already!!!such a shock! I bought Counting Crows,Cranberries,Pearl Jam,Smashing Pumpkins, several.I had to drive about half hour north to find a record store . I was like "holy shoot!", I didn't realize how cut off we were from culture, life, going on in the rest of the country. Newspaper was just page to page coverage,Hurricane,rebuilding,effort....contractors scamming people for insurance money, people living in female camp tent cities still after 2yrs!etc. It was all unreal. Listening to all this amazing music brought me back to life, after being in zombie mode for several years.
you know the more and more i listen to you and the band the more i truly know and appreciate who the Counting Crows actually are as people and The Band, of all time! Please let me go on tour with you all sometime, i know you all sooo much, since 93 ive been with you guys!
Love this interview! Counting Crows is one of my top five favorite rock bands of all time! (The Beatles, Pink Floyd, Counting Crows, Pretenders, The Who) To watch this interview was a unique and wonderful treat. Thank you! And big huge THANKS to Adam Duritz for all the great music and lyrics and for having the bravery, conviction and intelligence to stick with his vision for the band. I soooo very much respect and appreciate this! Awesome interview!
I've loved this band since they were on MTV every half hour. Also love Offspring from that era. Anyway, looking at this, Adam has so much sadness in his eyes and voice, makes me sad in turn. Love his singing voice, and melodies and lyrics, and the great band. So much emotion in the whole Counting Crows experience, and the songs remind me of girlfriends past...
I've been a fan of them since the beginning. Adam is a few yrs older than me and what I like the most is his honesty in the lyrics. He is willing to stand metaphorically naked to get to the truth. Fucking great!
Man he is so cool and funny. That band was on all the time when I was a teenager and I never really paid attention to them back then. After realizing what a good funny dude he is I gave their music another chance and now I really dig it. They’re a great band
David is good friends with both Adam and myself. I thought including him in the interview would be fun, make Adam feel more comfortable and David has a great voice.
The song plays you. It is in everyone's mind and is headed the same place. I totally see that, in retrospect I think that is what I loved so much. even as listeners we sort of expected where things were going, then they did, but it is called ad lib, so by definition one couldn't actually be sure.
'Thank You' for 'All the 'Brilliant' 'Music' and 'Lyrics' 'I Love' 'Thunder' 'Road' and 'All the 'Songs' and 'Everything' 'You' 'Play'' and' 'I Love' to 'Wrestle' with 'You' 'My' 'Adam' 'I LOVE' 'You' 'Your' 'Darling' and 'Queen' XXXX
Anthony Moore Would love to meet you all, haha. This video is so inspiring, on so many levels. Thankx to the "Underwater Sunshine" interviews, with Adam on Spotify, I was able to discover Tender Mercies.
Anthony Moore I'm 37 and I started listening around 95. have not stoped . counting crows are coming to Phoenix next month. I will be in VIP singing along to every song . Round here and Anna begins have some of the deepest drum beats. they always make me feel emotional. Love love love the drums on all of the album's. look forward to seeing you live next month. #blessings #thankyou#greatestbandever
Hanging around was the 1 St counting crows song I ever heard....it was 2003 I guess... Iam from India and it was hard to get online music then... In 2014 I heard their Friend of the Devil cover.... I was blown away by the sheer emotional appeal of his vocals and I like the cover better than the original song... I heard Earthquake Driver and Long December... But I couldn't understand why people love them so much... I heard American girls and appreciated the song Very much... But some how didn't like Mr Jones very much.... After listening to it for a year I can understand and feel why Mr Jones is the counting crows song...
2003 live amsterdam album version of "Rain King" is much more perfect for me. "Desert Life" is my heart album then "Hard Candy", but they're all excellent!
Really interesting interview. What would history have been like if "August and Everything After" had made it in place of "Raining in Baltimore"? Personally, I've always thoguht AAEA was the better song, but Adam obviously made the album he wanted to make. :)
For me, Round here. Anna Begins. Murder of One. Perfect Blue Buildings. Sullivan Street. Recovering the Satellites. Colorblind. Holiday in Spain. These guys play such amazing, beautiful music.
are you kidding me, no way! all he does is talk about how good other people are. not him. even if he was, he has the right to be. he is a liricle genius

Adam is the best songwriter ever. I don't care what genre or whatever .
Since the first time I heard round here I realized this is my favourite band. Hundred years later, I love them more.

@matrixdune, Check out the "Most Interesting Serve in the World" video I posted, David Hayter does the voice over on that.
Does Adam kno he's talkin to Solid Snake?
of course. we've all been friends since the mid 90's.
Anthony Moore Would love to meet you all, haha. This video is so inspiring, on so many levels. Thankx to the "Underwater Sunshine" interviews, with Adam on Spotify, I was able to discover Tender Mercies.

Suv sess?
What’s this bonus dreadlock wig with this bonus interview?
2024!
2003 live amsterdam album version of "Rain King" is much more perfect for me. "Desert Life" is my heart album then "Hard Candy", but they're all excellent!
he looks just like the manager of the TV section of the Best Buy in my city, literally just put a dread wig on him.

Worried about the bass?
You mean a lot to me
Adam's eyebrows are so animated that I'm curious if Jim Henson actually designed his face from Heaven.

Charlie, for goodness sake, I hope you shaved that patch under your lip off. It looks like you ate alfredo and forgot to wipe your mouth.
counting crows are so horrible. it seems like something is wrong with this guy singing.
Yes. I have never heard him pull it off live and I have looked. The album sounds great though.... i suspect it was mostly T Bone
August was great and the only one
