Have spent most of the last 2 years (2019-2020) working with the sewing machines at school, very high-tech and expensive Bernina's. I'm so happy that many of the features I miss from those machines, (the speed slider, LCD screen, stop-start button, and others) are also on the NV180, and this one I can actually afford! Can't wait to buy this machine :D

Hello, I bought Brother nov with embroidery. When I started to do embroidery it take the thread from down not from upper thread. I wanted to do it all golden thread but it used the bobbin white thread and there was missing areas as thread was finished

Depends on the customs designs you are creating. If it is from a logo or a creation from a picture, you will need digitizing software to create a custom design.
They are different machines so it depends on what you are looking for. The F420 is a sewing machine only and has a larger throat area than the NV180. The NV180 is a combination sewing and embroidery machine with more sewing stitches than the F420. If you are unsure of what you would like, give us a call on 1800 000 360 and we can help :)

This will sew Denim and Tweed. Just need to ensure you have the right needles for what you are sewing. Also sometimes with thicker fabric it is a good idea to use a walking foot.

I am looking for a sewing machine. After a few days of research... - I feel lost. I don't understand the logic behind Brother's product naming strategy. Letters in the model name are confusing. Not even mentioning numbers that follow those letters. Can someone explain to me what NV, FS, CP, LB, NS, PE.... actually stand for? And how about the numbers? The bigger, the better? Does the number indicate the weight or some dimension? I don't get it. It is hard to make a well-informed choice. For example, what is the difference between NV180 and FS600? NV180 seems better on the paper. But maybe FS is better built? I don't get it. Anyone?

I do not know of any software that currently works on an Ipad, you will need to use a desktop computer or laptop to create the design. Then you will be able to transfer via a USB.

Echidna sewing please help me. My nv180 keeps saying 'check and rethread upper thread' after about every 10 stiches. We dont have brother repair shops here. The upper thread is fine. Im suspecting that my take up spring is bent but i cant find a picture to compare to. Please help me, I love my machine.

This is my first computerized sewing machine. Did anyone experience the bottom stitch tends to "clump" or "ball" together and the beginning of the stitch? And it is very unsightly. Could anyone give any advise how to overcome this?
Try pulling out longer thread tails (esp the bobbin thread) before you start sewing. Sometimes, when you backstitch/do a lockstitch at the beginning, the two threads get tangled under your fabric. Hope this helps!
@@2nywa2 yeah I did that manually. Just feel that it's a little weird when this needs to be done manually rather than the machine able to do it nicely on its own without "balling" together.
Tane Lee to prevent bunch ups you can bring the bobbin threads to the top. Also check the machine is threaded through the takeup leaver - position 4 in the threading process.

Try pulling out longer thread tails (esp the bobbin thread) before you start sewing. Sometimes, when you backstitch/do a lockstitch at the beginning, the two threads get tangled under your fabric. Hope this helps!
@@2nywa2 yeah I did that manually. Just feel that it's a little weird when this needs to be done manually rather than the machine able to do it nicely on its own without "balling" together.
Tane Lee to prevent bunch ups you can bring the bobbin threads to the top. Also check the machine is threaded through the takeup leaver - position 4 in the threading process.

Hi, yes you can embroider your own logo as long as it is an embroidery file and is under 10 x 10cm.

Can you add fonts?
