They basically peaked at series 4, and the design has barely changed since! They've only slightly modified the watches year after year with only a couple decent sensors being added!

Just out of possible pure interest - Still have my 1st Generation 42mm Apple Watch and my day starts at 7AM and ends about 6pm. It's 1pm and my watch is still at 70%. Not bad for a scratched up old piece of tech, don't you think? My watch is usually around 10% when I put it in the charger at 10 to 11 pm each night
Glad I got the Ultra 2 recently. It’s just another spec bump this year. Plus them removing the 41mm case is a mistake in my opinion. I know several people who think 45mm is much too big for their wrists.
I, for one, am happy that the rumors point to Series 10 keeping the existing band system. I've built up a goodly sized collection of bands (thanks primarily to TJ Maxx and Marshalls) that would be rendered useless if I were to upgrade to the new model. I am currently using the first-generation Apple Watch SE, but its battery health has gone down to "Service Recommended." I'm not sure about having an expensive watch held to its strap solely by magnets. If you've dropped your AirPods case, only to have to search for the AirPods due to them flying out of the case on impact, you know what I'm talking about.
I've been hanging on to my AW 5 44mm for years but the battery has gotten to the point where I have to charge it a couple times a day and sometimes it won't even last my 35 minute walk in the morning. It unexpectedly reboots and says it has 10% power even after charging all night. Could I just get the battery replaced? Yea, but after this many versions, I'm due for a new one.
Seem to recall that the Apple Store can replace the battery for something like $90. But considering you have the 5 series, why not wait for the September release of the latest model.
I have the Apple Watch 8 and can barely get 24 hours of use, even when alot of notifications are turned off. Wish AW X would at least give a couple of days of battery

I’m good with thinner and a little larger screen. I have the ultra but don’t like how bulky it is. Will be changing to this in stainless steel! What about the blood oxygen sensor? I have a co-worker with copd and it really has saved him many times. Apple needs to settle this and bring it back.

I have a 40 mm Series 4 and have to upgrade. But I'm unsure if the Series 10 will be too large for my small wrist or just grab a 41 mm Series 9 while it is available.
@@Drew17455 I was considering a battery replacement since I am approaching a battery health below the 80% that Apple recommends. But now that Watch OS 11 won't support my watch, I rather use the $100.00 battery replacement cost towards an upgrade.
I don't think they need to change the design! I have the series 6 Just got it about 2 weeks ago refurbished my first IWatch ever- I never thought I needed one but now i can't go without LOL I am more excited for the larger size with the 10- I have a very small wrist so i tried on the Ultra just to see- 49mm does not look to large so the new size for me is Epic!
My series 7 has never had a major problem with battery life. I usually make it through the whole day, including my 1.5 hour workout with about 35-40% battery remaining. That said, I'd LOVE if the new watch had better battery life, so I could charge it once every 48 hours, rather than once every 12-15 hours.
I have the series 9 & I start my day at 4 am by 7 pm I still have around 40 % battery life and that is using the (Always on display) - I usually charge my watch before bed I do not charge over night Overall I think battery life fairs well-
Hi @@RichardMathew277 yes I’m serious, 49 mm is very small compared to the Garmin 53 mm watch face on their outdoor watches/adventure watches. And on my list 49 mm is quite small but then I’m one the few that probably uses them in the outdoors wilderness areas every single day. It’s about function and usefulness needs to have a bigger battery and a bigger watch face for easy to be able to see when climbing etc. Technical areas.
1. Why beg for a redesign so much? It looks good the way it is and it works great. Just to change something for the sake of changing it? 2. My Watch 9 makes it through an entire day and I usually still have 60% or so left (that’s usually a 10-hour day with work emails and personal notifications coming through constantly). Not sure what you’ve been doing with yours…
I’m on a series 6, used to last alright but nowadays its borderline. if I use the workouts function on my cycle commute to office and back it just about scrapes by a full day

I have series 9 45mm. Battery still at 100% capacity with optimized charging. Seems to do fine unless I'm using cellular, streaming Apple Music and connecting apple air pods pro 2 goes through battery pretty quick. AirPods don't switch to the watch automatically like they do to Mac, iPad and iPhone. Also, if streaming music while connected to iPhone or Wifi it doesn't switch to cellular seemlessly when out of range of wifi or phone. I have to be already out of range before pairing AirPods and launching Apple Music for it to use cellular.

Oxygen sensors have been disabled on new watches (since Jan 2024) to 2028. Not the least bit interested in magnetic bands or a round face clock. I have 2 series 8's that I rotate so battery is no problem. No sale from me until 2028.
Once again I will not waist my money. I want the Ultra, but with an upgrade in look so I can dress up or down Hate the Orange dial. So I could have spent $3000 over the years, but will wait again....perhaps the 4 will upgrade. Right........I want one watch, not two. I live in Bali 3rd of year of the time, like to Dive, but also like to go to dinner at nice places..amazing place....Orange dial just doesn't cut it. I want one watch because I only want carry one, watch, but also I would have ot pay tax on two...Geez....Apple is usually so good at understanding these things.
Apple should do something about the watch faces. They're old-fashioned and frankly look like they're designed for children. Just compare with the fantastic watch faces on the Galaxy Watch ultra. They're designed for adults. It's time Apple. Please redesign the childish watchfaces!

If these updates are all, that is very disappointing. I have an Apple Watch Ultra (1st gen) and a series 7 stainless steel. The battery on both has degraded substantially to 82% in the case of the 7, and it won’t last an entire day. I was hoping to replace it with the series 10, but was also hoping it wouldn’t just effectively be the same device. Otherwise I’d prefer to just replace the battery of the series 7, but Apple won’t sell me one until it gets to 80% remaining capacity.

My battery on my 5 went shit after the last couple of updates. I turn my screen off now and it just about gets through the day. It does the job

Barely get 24 hours of battery life with moderate notifications and use. I am using the AW series 8. Contemplating switching to garmin.

I'm on a S6 and it lasts a full day consistently. I use a very minimal watch face but do use AOD.

I walk 12 - 16k steps a day and am out and about for around 12 hours and have never run out of battery on my series 9 45mm

My favorite is also the stainless steel. I hope this is true. Prefer the classic rounded design.

My Apple Watch gets 3 days on a charge, but I only wear mine between 10 and 12 hours a day.

I barely make it through a normal day, if it’s a heavy tech day, no way
