Very well done. You get to the point and answered all of the most important areas. I just got a new one last summer and hadn't done much with it. It was getting a little brown on the tips so I thought I'd better get some input on its care. You answered all my questions and more. Thank you so much!
I have mine sitting on a moisture tray and a dish of water sitting nearby, it seems to be keeping it healthy, since indoor air usually tends to be drier than the outdoors.
I'm baby sitting my work mates plant because she forgot it when we went into lockdown, just figured out it was a Parlor Palm Plant! Thank you for the tips! I want to make sure I take good care of her
Hii! Yes, they can live for decades... Actually I adopted one which is at least 30-32 years old which belonged to my parents! I had a hard time indentifying which species it was, since it now has one single trank (i don't know how to call it, haha) instead of multiple ones as it is when you first buy it... Mine needs watering once every 3 weeks...! Due to the indoor conditions/soil/pot, I guess. But it grows new leaves constantly and slowly (they take around a month to fully unfurl). (I live in Greece)
I watered once a month in winter in Melbourne and the palm is doing ok, of course when the weather gets warmer more frequently, I don't have central heating and it's rather cold in winter indoors.
Hello, thank you for the awesome tips and tricks for Parlor Palm trees, I have one question I wanted to ask... Do I need to thin out the plants as they grow? I've bought one plant and it has 9 different shoots and they're all developing new leaves and it looks like the newer leaves don't have enough space to develop and that there's not enough air in between the leaves , should I split it into two different pots?
@@BigBoyPlants Thank you very much for the reply, I've been looking around and apparently everyone keeps their trees in a cluster so I think it likes it this way and I shouldn't have a problem with it
Awesome vid. I just got back from vacation from florida, and ended up buying this plant in the airport! Lol. I live in idaho and it gets below 40degrees during the winter. Do you think the plant will be ok? Its located by a indirect light window, and sometimes will open it to let air into my bedroom. Will it be ok?
hiya i just bought a XS Chamaedorea elegans "parlour palm" is it extra small as in its rlly small but will grow bigger , or will it keep small , i want it bigger

What is the best way to eliminate pests such as mealy bug or spider mites on the parlor palm?

Hi Ilana! Thanks for your comment. If it grows new leaves and they are green, then I guess it's all good.
@@BigBoyPlants Yes, it's doing fine!! It's about to bloom these days with these cutest yellow pearls! :D
Amazing & useful content! My parlor palm is growing sideway, any tips for the fix?
Please tell me why my palm three is growing successfully but has very light green leaves. Maybe this is a sigh of a lack of fertilizer?
I think mine is going to flower soon! And it's not even that tall yet...what a nice surprise. Wish I could post a pic here to get a confirmation.
Mujhe ye plant bahut pasand hai..
Chamaedorea plant ko kaise ugate hai ? Seed se ya cutting se..?
Agar seed se...to seed kaha se mil sakte hai...?
the stems on my plant are young so weak, they are bending down and falling down to the sides, I tried tying a knot to no result, any recommendation?
Thank you very much! I was just looking to get one and found your tips very helpful :)
Thanks Kristina! glad to know it was helpful!
Thank you Martin. Very helpful 👍😉

My plant has white bugs dead on it and a couple alive. How do I get rid of them

Hi! Could be a good idea if you notice they are too crowded on the base or if you are starting to notice too much root bound 🌿☘

What is the current leaf color? How often are you watering it? Is it getting enough light?

After a year repot to a larger pot
Fertilizing May help
