It looks so perfectly quant on the outside that it was shocking to see how modern it looked inside, I wish they kept an English country vibe to it with the kitchen too
Yes! The exterior of the cottage is straight out of a fairytale story. A proper ‘chocolate box’ cottage dating back to 1800. The current interior is quite the juxtaposition though, very modern which might not be to everybody’s cup of tea. I agree with you, I think retaining the charm and character of these historic houses is preferable however we all have different tastes 😊
I agree, this inside does such a disservice to such a beautiful home in such divine surroundings. Probably just slapped it together, so as to be able to make much money off of renting it out for holidays. Let us hope if it ever sells, whomever buys it does a SYMPATHETIC reno and puts back some much needed character to the interior.
I agree. The kitchen is utilitarian. By that I mean, the idea must have been to make it sturdy and easy to clean for renters. I would have loved to see a more cottage design with painted wooden cupboards and wallpaper somewhere.
You find the grandest places to visit and/or stay. Love the cottages and National Trust seems to have the nicest hide away places and are done over so nicely and kept with the history of the time perfectly, Thank you so much for this video. All of them really, Stacy,
Absolutely stunning video, every shot was exquisite, can't praise you enough, so enjoyable, I could almost feel the sun and smell the cottage garden flowers. Made me very happy to watch. Thank-you ❤
Always I used to watch Vlogs of such a Wonderful English Villages Cottages from Outside only but recently I started watching your videos which makes me happy and fulfilled my Wish to see all these remarkable old Cottages from Inside as well. I really enjoyed your videos which you are filming in such a good Manner. Thanks a Lot. Love to watch more beautiful videos from you in future ❤❤❤
Lots of love from India. Your videos are so perfect and amazing. I really want to visit those cottages, but no money........ Alas! Keep making regular videos please. ❤❤❤❤❤❤
Such a pretty cottage! It was the old gatehouse to the manor. It comes with a fantastic location for exploring the surrounding area 😍 Happy Sunday David!
Lovely video. Each home is unique and beautifully kept. I enjoyed the village also, especially the little French cafe. Thanks so much. Lynn in Naples FL 💕
Thank you so much for this video❤, I was really enthusiastic about seeing where Thomas Hardy lived...he was one of my favorite novelists while studying for A' levels ever so many years ago.
I have just found your channel and working my way through your videos, loving everything from the places you visit to the background music and your calm commentary. The only issue I have is that I’m from Australia, I have a son living in England that I visit every year but you are adding lots of places to my must visit list lol 😂❤
Funny I should watch your post today, I just saw this news on Google about Thomas Hardy’s…. Author Thomas Hardy’s Historic Home Hides a Neolithic Site, Now a Declared Monument
Oh wow! I just had to google this as I hadn’t heard anything about it. Apparently that’s at his house Max Gate in Dorchester and not this cottage he grew up in. I still need to visit Max Gate as that’s where a lot of his original furniture is 😍 and now another lovely reason to visit, how fascinating!
Love the exterior, but the interior was disappointingly modern and very bland. I suppose I was expecting something old and cosy, like some of the other properties you’ve stayed in. Other people will love it, I’m sure, it’s just not for me. I like Thomas Hardy’s poetry, and one of my favourite poems is the delightfully cynical “The Ruined Maid”.
Not long if they are successful. I'm in America and mourning the three little girls and their families. Like Donald Trump said...FIGHT, FIGHT, FIGHT...for your families and your wonderful country.❤🇬🇧🇺🇸
Well they are protected and have been there for centuries so they won't be going anywhere no immigrants are seen or could afford to live in these villages anyway..

Thé interiors are nasty, disappointing.
@@theslowtravelsfamilyIn that context it's just poor taste .

Love the front door and rounded sitting room! The exterior is such a quaint cottage whereas the kitchen was surprisingly modern-looking.

You can rent Tintinhull house from the National Trust, we stayed there and in the evening you have the beautiful gardens all to yourself ❤
Oh no way!! I didn’t know that! Thank you for educating me 🥰 Would love to stay there one day, what an amazing place to have to yourself 😍
Beautiful place! ❤

Awesome dear❤one of your new subscriber
Very pretty.
Holiday Let owners often spoil the inside of lovely cottages. This isn’t somewhere I’d stay, which is a shame because the outside looks so inviting.

I have always loved Hardy's cottage but, for my taste the cottage you stayed in had been ruined by being over modernised
How long doo.you think it will look like that after eng. special friends get their filthy mitts on it
