You missed some points(obviously seen on spy shots & discussed)
1. Suspension, and that's too watts-link.
2. Its Length (it matters for most and me too, if more than 4.4, it will certainly put me off)
3. 19" alloy wheels(were seen in spy shots)
4. Now this a question, "why Mahindra is not using its 1.5 turbo petrol in this car(or any), it may make it fuel efficient also"?
5. Boot size.
Here are some answers. I did actually touch on most of these in some way or the other, but will reiterate again.
1. Suspension will be the same as the Scorpio N.
2. The length will 100% be more than 4.4 metres, as it should be. It’s a large car. It’s got large dimensions.
3. I did mention the wheels in my video. Unlikely that they will go 19, but 19s will be a welcome addition since a lot of people upsize anyways.
4. Because this is too large a car to use a small engine on. India will always equate a large car with a large engine and the sentiment will not allow them to put a small engine in a large heavy car. And in any case, a small engine in a large car isn’t very efficient.
5. Expect a large boot. I don’t think mahindra will do a 7 seat version of the Thar, but a more comfortable 5 seat with a big boot instead. The number of people who want 7 seats is small anyways.

How can it be a monocoque ? If it's based on Scorpio N ? SocorpioN is ladder frame right ?
By monocoque I think he meant single piece body. Body on frame design but the body will be one piece rather than 4 doors and separate roof.

We own two Bolero glx 4x4 and now they're 19 years old and still running in a very good condition, with a very reliable engine, after Mahindra made a few changes with a new engine and body up to zlx model it still cannot outweigh the glx 2005 4x4 model in terms of built quality. When Mahindra launched the Scorpio N I really liked the power figures, I was hoping that they would figure out how to put this type of engine in a Bolero (because I really like the design of Bolero because it's 5 doors and Thar is only 3 doors), after Mahindra had announced the upcoming Thar 5 door I was still concern about the engine and now you have finally said the answers to my prayers and special thanks to Mahindra, I would love to be a proud owner of the upcoming MAHINDRA THAR 5 DOOR

I have a Thar CRDE which I bought in 2016. Im a jeeper. Read a lot about your father Late Mr.Behram Dhabhar and 0:10 almost all of his advices on Thar CRDe. Eagerly waiting for this new Thar to buy one. But I will not sell my CRDe. Thank you for the information about the 4 door Thar.

I enquired in Bangalore's Mahindra Showroom regarding the launch of THAR 5 DOOR.
They have started the advance booking & told me that the revealing date is August 15th & delivery by September for early birds.
Excited for a family car cum off-road killer on Indian roads. 🔥🔥

Five-door Thar having a monocoque chassis rather than a ladder on frame chassis is the biggest take away from this video.

It’s unibody, but not monocoque for sure.
Correction here. I’ve mis-said it. The car is still a body on frame. The body is a singular structure unlike the current thar where the roof is a separate piece

I assume it will be 5 seater only.. Jump seat like scorpio won’t be practical considering two piece opening at rear. May be kids seat is possible but I think mahindra will not consider this 5 door thar as people mover..

mileage of the petrol engine is my point of concern (without the compromise on power) its already in single digits in scorpioN and thar will it dip even further is something I am interested to see. (NCR folks appreciate the petrol due 15 yr rule and the new headache of DPF clogging in diesels)
would love to see the 200hp petrol on 5door but the mileage and thus the range of single tank usage seems a point of concern
What according to is a better overall package the THAR 5 DOOR or SCORPIO N?
The Scorpio has a third row which is mostly non usable.. We have zero boot with the third row up.. The camera quality is garbage to say the least.. No automatic ORVMs.. Doesn't have a lot of tech for the price at which it comes.. Can the THAR 5 door be the ONLY CAR for a family? Which does all the job?
I think (personally) that the thar will be better. Need to wait and watch

On road pricing to be expected should be around 23-25 for the full top spec automatic? Also as the emission regulations get harder on cars should one short list the diesel variant or go ahead and buy the petrol, asking based on long term ownership.
Long termer won't get affected they willnot stop sales of diesel, they might stop diesel cars, that's all

25 on road max is what we have been told. I’m also told it will be better than that. So fingers crossed. The diesel regulation thing is sadly a grey area that no one can predict

Why do Thars have their front sagging? Like it has worn-out front suspension. Or, like nose-dived under hard-braking and stayed stuck there. If you look at the running board, you can see that it is not parallel to the ground. And look at Wranglers. Front is absolutely at level with the back. Running board parallel to ground. Anyone buying Thars should add at least 2 inches lift to only front suspension to bring it at level with back.
Maybe Maruti should consider a soft top for the Jimny 5dr like the gypsy , obviously they are too lazy to care

Based on Scorpio-N's chassis, but monocoque - It's quite confusing. So, will it be a monocoque with AWD & RWD?
As I’ve explained, I’ve slightly mis-said it. The car is still a frame and body construction but the body is a singular monocoque construction unlike the current one that has a body and separate roof section.
Hey Cyrus- what are the chances of getting a compass/wrangler level of interior quality & design? I think the 5 door could do with that level of premium quotient to stand out from the 3 door.

In the case of the older Thar CRDE some of the underpinnings between both are swappable. So technically it’s ok.
Thar 5 doors have been getting tested in AMR Tech Park, Hongasandra. I see it quite often, that It has become a forbidden fruit experience.

I should have added a bit more context there. The Thar will still be a body on frame but the body will be a unibody instead of a separate roof structure that it currently is .

Jimny sales will increase after launch of 5 door thar as Jimny will be the only petrol 4x4 in the range of 12-15 lacs. Thar will be somewhere near 20 lacs. Those who can afford 20 lacs will go for Scorpio. In places like Himachal Jimny is already being used as 4x4 taxi as it is fuel efficient.

I was expecting the top spec thar to be around 23-24 lakh mark on road if they introduce the more power engine. I have recently booked a Verna turbo DCT and now i am again confused about if we should cancel it to buy a Thar 5 door.
Well if you can make them wait till next month for the delivery and payment, and then decide at the launch if you want to change your decision, it would be a win-win
