I don't know why your videos don't have more attention. They are fantastically well edited, informative, well planned, and just down right beautiful. Keep it up!
hello Andrew this was a great video and I would say the best of the Series so far. May I be right that this is the place where you shoot the video around ground tent vs roof top tent ?
On the magnificent road from Petauke to Mfuwe you will find our camp. Once you have passed the mango trees (with elephant underneath - see this video) you will find us after 3km's along the Luangwa river. So, you do not have to camp in the wild, but enjoy one of our cottages.
I love your videos !! that is why im watching the older ones, i have almost seen all of them. i was wondering just how did you store all of your video until you got back home in 2016? you must of had lots of sd cards maybe? was just wondering, great job with editing also.
When driving from Petauke to Mfuwe. Have a look at our website for more info: www.malama-umoyo.com The road is amazing and you will for sure see a lot of wildlife. Driving from Petauke to our camp will take about 5 hours (dry season). Further to Mfuwe is about two hours. This video is very nice! My compliments! By the way: 1. The elephant under the mango trees is close to our camp. In October there a many many elephants there trying to get the mango's. 2. When driving off road near Mopani trees, be extremely careful and look for stumps. Mopani stumps are like needles and can easily pierce your tires.
...Tesla model X is fully electric, and 4x4. It's also got over 700 Newton Meters of Torque. It's changed the rules. The end of fossil fueled vehicles is in sight.
+david mcgrath lol electric vehicles are nothing more than coal powered....btw good luck replasing fossil fuel vehicles in all these poor countries....and good luck replacing large trucks and construction vehicles....we will have fossil fuel cars for a long long time.
4xOverland But alas good Sir, it is not prudent to camp in the warm sandy basin of a dry creek bed for one never knows the weather a few hundred km's away...... :-) Many a weary and tired traveller has made the mistake and woken just in time to realise the sound is water...... I'm just putting it out there. I am certain you have heard this advice before. And yes, I know you knew there was no rain. The point is more for other readers who may learn from my comment. NB : My comments are for those who may be learning the art and skill of overlanding. The Rule Andrew has NEVER changed : NEVER camp in a dry creek bed - you can't guarantee the weather upstream a few days or weeks before. It's a standard rule. It might help someone if they read this far.
she does always. Do you think she is an idiot? it was around her waste. She removed the should strap because she had been filming. The cop at the roadblock would have fined us heavily had she not being wearing it.
thanks for replying. I would never think she's an idiot. She seems to be a very cool girl. BTW, very good videos. I'm a big fan and an overlander wannabe
+4xOverland It's okay to be a Dad, and well done. I'm very lucky to be able to witness the very special relationship you and Kate have. Thank you for sharing that.

Ja, those Isuzu bakkies are not bad.

I'm so jealous of your expeditions mate!! Here I am slaving away, being self employed and dreaming of going on adventures like this haha
Great series but I do wish each video was longer! Keep up the great work!
Just fabulous narration and adventure!
Love the crocodile comment.
Simply amazing.

I carry two 1TB portable hard drives when on a trip, then transfer one of them to a high-speed media drive for editing.
I would be worried about flash floods camping in river bed but I'm sure Andrew knows what he's doing.
Flash flood in the driest drought they've ever had in human memory..?
Fantastic Videos. I am curious what your opinion is of the stock 4x4 vs a more fully outfitted overlander after this trip.
all will be revealed.
Kate looked nervous on the boat
Amazing!
Do you think the Amarok would do the same trip in the same level of comfort? :)
No question, it would.

Finally!
I wish I was a morning person :(
What if it rains 300 km's up stream a few days before ??
It didn't. Zambia is suffering its worst drought in 100 years.

Inclined to agree, sooner or later it rains. :-)
Kate should use her seatbelt !

sorry. I over reacted a tad. We have taught our kids well and seat belts are a non negotiable.
