Ok, I am 2 minutes into this video and I am loving the calm of it. Making soup is one of my favorite ways to love my family. The more veggies to chop up, the better. Chicken Soup for the soul really begins with the prep. Thank you Ashley. Now back to watching!
Oh, Carol. I just love this comment - thank you! 🥰 I agree with it all. The veggie prep is so calming and cathartic, and the way it all comes to together is just sublime. You get it ❤️
Thank you for watching! I’ll admit cooking/baking isn’t always calming for me, but if the stars align, I prep well beforehand, and I go into with a good mindset, it can totally be calming and cathartic.
Thanks for sharing!! I hope things continue to get better. You and your family will continue to be in my thoughts and prayers during this challenging time!! ❤️❤️😎❤️❤️
Sending all our love to you all. I am so sorry to hear that February has been so rough. All the best to Joe and the rest of you! This storm shall pass, especially with those umbrellas you mentioned, the love you share, and warm chicken soup.
Your kind words are always so appreciated, Zahida. 💗 We really do have so much to be grateful for, so it has made the storm a little easier to carry, but thank you!
Great video, very deep, and very true! I know exactly what you mean, my husband has always said I put love in my food as my meals always seem nicer than his. But I've never given it much thought. I guess I'm always trying to cook it the way I know he'll like it, he prefers crunchy veg over soft veg for example. So I suppose that comes through in the meal 😁❤
Thank you for this video. It was so relaxing to watch after a long day working at the hospital. It was a good reminder about how soothing cooking can be. My favorite meal to make is a tie between jambalaya, and a Thai coconut lentil soup. Have a wonderful week.❤
It makes my heart happy to have been a moment of relaxation after the hard work you’ve put in at the hospital. You deserve it and much more! Oooh I’ve actually never tried either of those, although I’ve heard a lot about them, I may just need to change that! Wishing you a wonderful Weekend!
I actually love baking most. Making a fresh batch of cookies is my absolute favourite. Not a day goes by where we don’t have a homemade baked good in our house. It brings such warmth and comfort.
Oh wow! I wish I lived in your house!!! With a husband who doesn’t really have a sweet tooth and is gluten-free/dairy-free, baking is not as often as I’d like, but I’ve grown to love cooking meals more because of it. 🥰
We totally get each other. It’s a daily battle, but one worth fighting for! I hope you find some time and some thing this weekend to help fight those demons! ❤️
My favourite meal to make is a roast dinner. In England its traditional to have a roast dinner every Sunday and i always dreamed of having a family when i grew up where we would have a dinner round the table together and we would share our plans for the week and laugh and smile together. I cant wait for those days to come but for now, when i make it for me and my fiance, it makes me happy to see him enjoy it and know you’ve made someones tummy happy :) xx
I absolutely love this, Liz. I hope your Sundays very soon will be filled with an abundance of love and laughter, but in the meantime, I know there is plenty of that between the two of you love birds. 🥰 growing up surrounded by my mom’s full-blooded italian immigrant family, I was fortunate to enjoy pasta Sunday every week. We don’t all get together each Sunday now, but you’ve reminded me of the importance of making at least one meal a week an important and special gathering of family and I think we’re going to have to come up with a new tradition. Thank you for the inspiration!
I love this! I can see Lee really enjoying being an active contributor to our family weekly meal plan. It really does give kids confidence, responsibility, autonomy, and priceless lessons to take with them as they go out into the real world! I’m excited for as they grow for our boys to really understand and help mold our family dynamics and be active team members. Keep sharing your wisdom, friend! You are always inspiring.
I have to say your voice is very soothing. Watching this video def helped calm me today. Under a lot of stress lately and love cooking!!! Hope all is well.
Thank you for this video. Anxiety has been creeping in alot and this had such a calming effect. Cooking and baking are my relaxing stress relievers. I need to find time to do them both more. Thinking of you and Joe and hope you both receive rest soon.
I was having a stressful day at work but this video did help out tremendously. Thank you for sharing this today. Your soup looked so delicious. I love soups and chili this time of year. My favorite soup is loaded baked potato soup.
Before Joe went dairy-free, we also loved making a loaded baked potato soup! I may need to revisit it and see if I can adjust it to work with his diet. So glad I could help you!
@@AshleysLemonadeStand I do not have a dairy-free diet, but if you are able to adjust the recipe to work with a dairy-free diet, I would LOVE to hear how it went. I'm always willing to broaden my horizons and try new things. For example I also don't have a gluten-free diet, but Erin McKenna's is a must stop whenever I am at Disney Springs.
My favourite thing to make is chocolate chip cookies. It’s the only thing I know how to make, but I’m really good at it! On a side note, Dennis’s sweater is SO cute! He looks like he should be the male lead in a Hallmark Christmas movie!🥺🎄
That soup looks restaurant quality!! And I loved the message of this video...whether you succeed or not...you are always striving for contentment...and that is inspiring. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and Joe during this rough patch. But as you said...you will get to the other side in no time🙏🏻❤️ P.S. I liked how you put the actual audio at the end...it only exemplified the point of trying to attain that “zen” feeling that was portrayed in the main video...it’s just not easy and takes work sometimes!!
We’ve started cooking family meals together this year, one person takes the side dish, one person the main protein, and one person makes a dessert. We turn on music and all help each other and have a lot of fun, I enjoy the conversation and love that fills up our kitchen as we teach our daughter not only a very important life skill, but the value of family togetherness.
Definitely depends on who is having the rough day. Most of the time I let them help and practice their skills but some days, I just don't want to clean up an extra mess. 🥴
This video was amazing! Thank you so much for sharing this with us! I love to make home made bread. It’s something I love to do for my family and even I would bring some to neighbors and friends. The month of January had really put me in a spin and this video brought me a sense of calm and knowing that it’s going to be okay. I will always now bring even more love to each time I knead my home made bread ❤️❤️
You are a very talented and very very kind lady, Miss Amanda! 💗 what can’t you do?! Question: do you back in a loaf tin or in a bread making machine? I’d love to bake bread and I recently inherited a bread baking machine, but also love the idea of just baking it in the oven.
@@AshleysLemonadeStandoh my gosh you are so kind!! ❤️❤️❤️I bake my bread in a bread tin and bake it in the oven I just love the smell of it in the house! But a bread baking machine must be so cool to use too! As a kid I grew up kneading the dough with either my grandma or my mom and every time I smell it in the house I have a ratatouille moment! Hahahaha! I also just learned how to make focaccia bread too! Via tiktok 🤣😂
That looks so delicious. I’ve been looking for a tall deep pot for making out homemade Stew and Clam chowder. Ashley if I may ask where did you buy your pot?
I’m not home right now to confirm the exact size, but this was a small batch of soup, so the pot actually wasn’t that big - maybe 8 qt? It is a calphalon we got as a wedding gift ten years ago. Let me look more closely at the much larger pot we use for big batches of soup and pasta sauce and get back to you!
Gosh, I miss you. Hope you and your family are having a memorable and beautiful 2024 ❤

This makes my heart so happy! 💗
Thank you for this video, Ashley! It was actually very calming. I feel like baking or doing a big meal is always comforting to me.

Such a comfort food and so enjoyable to make, isn’t it? 😃

I enjoy baking, especially if it has been a rough day for me or my kids. Cookies are always good for the soul!
Yes, I couldn’t agree more! Do you like to include the kids or bake it for them/you? I’m guessing similar to me, it depends on the day.
