Stephen always felt like the classic action hero. Doing the best with what he's got.

He good in series 1 but I felt they almost ruined him in series 2.

@@rtaylor7384 Yeah, they both could've survived if they threw Helen into the room. Would've prevented a lot of things.

@@zionleach3001 Stephen’s too much of a good guy to do something like that. It would basically make him a murderer which he wouldn’t want to have on his conscience.

Looking back. He no classic action hero. The real classic action hero in this show was the intelligent, brainy and better looking Connor Temple. Stephen was just a James Bond wannabe who try to hard to be the action hero but fail at everything and he was so annoying as well. I never liked him and I cannot understand why people did liked him. Primeval was so much better when they killed him off.

Historically, this thing was native to what is now modern day North America and Scotland. The Carboniferous period it lived in was marked by a huge increase in forest cover, which meant the oxygen content of the atmosphere was much higher than it is today and allowed insect species to grow to much greater sizes.

Arthropleura is a herbivore damnit! And in real life the animal was relatively docile, a gentle giant if you will. Also one more thing, the animal wasn't venomous whatsoever.

Tuxedo Toad well it don’t look like an arthropleura. All I see is a giant centipede. Arthropleura has a wider shell

I think it would work better to view it as a previously undiscovered prehistoric centipede, rather than a herbivorous millipede-like Arthropleura. Primeval has already tried working the idea of undiscovered prehistoric creatures into its lore (like the Tree Creeper, giant Precambrian worms, and parasites infecting the Dodos), so I am sure that would fit.

Tuxedo Toad they never said the one in the show wasn't an herbivore you act like herbivores can't be very dangerous and aggressive.

+ Tuxedo Toad: Actually, noone can know if the arthropleura was venimous or not, since the disponible fossils do not clearly show such a detail; but sure the authors of the serie decided it was, and reconstitued it as a kind of giant version of the venimous carnivorous centipedes you can find in central american jungles, just because it sells better. The root of the Primeval serie is to transform any prehistoric beast into a horror movie ultra- agressive roaring monster. And their reconstitution is not even faithful to the physical appearance that the fossils let us know of the animal, in place they gave him the very different look of a modern jungle centipede, just ten times bigger; and if it is very probable, as you wrote, that the real arthropleura was an inoffensive non- venimous herbivore , noone however can really be completely sure of that ...
