You're right, some box fans aren’t designed to be serviceable, which can shorten their lifespan. It’s always a good idea to check for serviceability when buying to make sure it lasts longer.
I have a fan that puts out way more air than this at low speed and it’s only 40 something decibels and I have a fan it’s modified and I think I’m gonna make it back to the way. It was around 2 to 300 RPM when the bell is in good condition or brand new and it blows 20 to 25 miles an hour

I had a hurricane box fan and after two months it started to make a loud whining noise. It wasn't rubbing on anything, it was from the motor. It didn't move any more air than my cheap lasko box fan.

@Wigglythegreat2 was the hurricane quieter than the lasko I'm trying to figure out what 1 to buy to put in my room
