Thanks for the video! The D24 is $699 right now and the D24x is $1099. Would you say it’s worth it to get the D24x or this one is god enough? Keep in mind, we’re not hardcore mtbers but I don’t want the bike limiting my 9yo son (52”). Thanks for any help!
If you can get the D24x for $1100 right now, that's a pretty solid deal. I like tinkering, so probably still go for the D24 and then upgrade select parts -- pedals and dropper to start.
Hei there. I just bought this bike for my 10yo son. was wondering whether this bike can upgrade to 26" wheel? kind hard to find tubeless tires in my country,
@@JoshTaylor Could you let us know if the 26" rear wheel fits and if you had tire clearance issues? I notice that several websites indicate you can't put it on the rear but I reckon they might be stating that due to tire clearance.
Thanks for the review. Just curious, what do you think about the performance of the suntour suspension? Do you feel like that is a limiting factor on this bike?
Thanks for responding. Was worried that this fork / shock combo might be poor build quality compared to the higher model. Sounds like they work just fine!
Shipping didn't take too long. The bike is on the heavy side, but my daughter's loved it so far and it's fantastic on the downs. I tried to get her back on her hardtail and she wants no part of it. lol
I ordered the same one for my son last Monday. It’s been 4 days and there is still no tracking status update. How long did it take for your daughters bike to arrive from the moment you ordered?
@@C17MTBadventures That's awesome! Be sure to set the air pressure to his weight first as it makes a huge difference! Then, I'd recommend adjusting the angle of the brakes so the levers are parallel to the angle of their arms while riding. Usually this means they're pointed downward a touch. It keeps their wrists straighter and improves comfort. While at it, I'd also reposition the brake levers inward (closer to the stem) a bit so your son can grab the lever with his index and middle finger, while ring and pinky fingers remain on the grips -- this is for safety to not loose control of the bar while braking. Let me know how it goes!
I didn't weigh it, but I'm sure I can. My guess is not much since we replaced the seat post with a heavier dropper and lever. The biggest improvement doesn't come from weight, but benefits from the dropper, hydraulic brakes and tubeless setup.

Yes, we've since mulleted the bike with a 26" DT Swiss 533d up front. Also have a 26" rear wheel going on in the spring.

@@timbush4688 you can convert it to full 26". We just built a custom 26" rear wheel and it's got plenty of clearance with 2.3 tires.

For how my daughter rides (doesn't jump, not aggressive), the suspension dampers are no way a limitation.

What length is good for dropper would you say? Probably add 26" tires and run for 3 season, was thinking 120mm but need advice. Thx
Depends on the height but for a kid riding this bike my guess would be 125-150mm is going to work.
It sucks when you not order this bike in EU.. Nice video :)

I found it online for $600. Should I go for it? I never buy bike that expensive. 😅
That's an amazing price if you're the right height and want to ride blue or higher level trails!

10 days from order till arrival.
@@JoshTaylor I just got the tracking number from FedEx yesterday. ETA is today.. My boy is so excited to try it out.

I might have missed it, but how much does the bike weigh before and after the mods?

Can you say weather this bike takes 26" wheels as the child grows???
It 100% does. She's got 26's on it now. I create another bike update
Wish I had one I'm already doing backflips and mannual
