Jessie Ventura came back later that year to ref the main event at SummerSlam but it would've been gold if he was there earlier to feud against "The Union."
this video was QUALITY, Jack. I watched it on the TV while I ate dinner. everything about it from top to bottom - so good. the difference between this and "2016 Jack" is insane. loved it.
I like this weird series. This Raw was about a year before I started watching wrestling, so I don't remember it. Plus, this video comes out right at my lunch break, which is cool
I started watching from Jan 1999 and id recommend if you have the network watch from at least 1997. Theres a lot of good stuff that lead up to the big boom they had from 1999-2000. The work Bret Hart was doing before he left and the rise of Stone Cold / Rock / Foley / HHH is all worth checking out
Fantastic Jack. Really took us on a journey through Russo's RAW in 1999 there. Echoing everyone's comments here, I could listen to you humorously mock anything because your presenting style is so much fun to listen to. I need to go back and watch the other one.
I saw Kane live in the 90s and he truly was an absolute monster he was taller and bigger then anyone on that roster he had muscles for days everywhere this dude was a monster
and now Kane's just... some old overweight sweaty conservative guy in a Florida city where he cries about the 'snowflake youth' and is just all around... a shit person
Angry Val Venus has got me dying over here. The logic of Val being pissed off because Double J is “forcing” him to try and steal his girl might be Russo’s best work of his career.

I’m so glad I recently came back to Cultaholic. This show is probably the most entertained I’ve been on RUclips in ages. It’s funny though as silly and insane as this raw was I found it more entertaining than todays product by far. I suspect that’s because it was true must see TV. nowadays if you miss a weeks show it’s literally no big deal.
Dude, I have not belly laughed this hard at any video on RUclips in so long. Some of these jokes legit have me howling. Hilarious. Keep up the good work, Jack.
Nobody popped for “Real American” because they did this often in the Attitude Era. They used it as a comedy spot entrance several times. That, Gilberg and several other things were digs at WCW. So that’s why people were more curious as to whom was coming out, who’s going to make fun of Hulk this time? 😂
Agree with Kane's ability to take bumps, I loved that tangle, and anytime he ends up tied up, He looks like a bear who's cub you're teasing just out of reach
Really enjoying this series so much. I love watching the weird and crap parts of wrestling and this is just perfect. Excellent work by Jack as he always does!
I have the May 10, 1999 episode on RAW is WAR on a random VHS tape, and although this RAW was indeed weird as hell, storylines, and the flow of the show was indeed weird overall, very messing, I strangely, very strangely liked it, I don't know why, and to this day I still why was attracted to this episode, but perhaps because I was a kid during time too, and didn't really know any better. Vince Russo was just an odd man, but strangely captivating at the same time. I mean it was the Attitude Era after all, so much stuff back then was truly weird and not really explainable. I can't believe I actually liked this episode tho. 😔
Theres a DDT Digest arena report for this show, it notes that there was a Dark Match between Owen Hart and Kurt Angle as well as several fights breaking out in the crowd.
It's because Vince Russo said he never wanted a match to go more than like 10 mins if that. Many segments (everyone had something to do) I know he had people around him to help iron his ideas out, but it's amazing how he faild in wcw with the product he served in wwf. Although I think raw was even better when he left for wcw such an interesting time back then I swear

@@glencurtis6052 It probably doesnt help that Jack has no enthusiasm at all when talking about it. I thought the reveal of the stooges and HBK was pretty well done. It was swerve central at the time but some of these swerves really were clever ideas and made the shows less predictable. There were regular stinkers aswel as exciting moments though id admit. Like the Raw Foley won the title for the 1st time they had Terri "lose her baby" that kind of real life traumatic event shouldnt be used in a wrestling angle so i wont say Russo always was a genius but he made the shows entertaining and had angles for the whole roster to be involved in top to bottom another thing thats badly missed in todays product
I commented this on another video which had the Union-Corporate Ministry segment but it's worthy to comment here as well: this "match" between Big Show and Paul Bearer was the reason why the latter was included in both WWF Attitude and WWF WrestleMania 2000 as an unlockable (and given the 450 Splash as a gag finisher to boot)
Ross always threw out the rules when it came to Austin. He was Austin's biggest fan and one of his biggest supporters. However, it shows that a lot of these older guys do not really care so much as they are falling into melancholy of a time long passed.
absolutely loving this series so far, jack's writing has obviously peaked with "Hustle, Loyalty, What are those"
Jack didn't write it up. It was Dees. Get it right mark
VKM booking himself in a faction called "The Union" is pretty fucking hilarious
