"...we get a random appearance from The Nexus, who know a thing or two about being buried alive."
God damn that's cold.
I fell in my seat crying with laughter.
It's hard to say what is a worse result for a PPV: being so bad that everyone remembers how bad it was, or being average and rew remember it even happened.
in the modern day, probably worse to be forgettable. but back when people were actually Paying Per View and weren't watching on the network? I'd rather watch an average show
Sometimes it's better to be infamous than forgotten. So probably the second one is worse
I say it's better to be so bad that everyone remembers. For example, I still remember GAB 91. A show widely regarded as one of the worst ppv's ever. I know I saw Bragging Rights 2010 when it happened, but I don't remember it nearly as well as GAB 91.
2010 was the first year I started watching WWE 😭 what a dark time this was.
Damn, what kept you going?
Because I started in 2008 and 2010 was the first time I realize that the product was not as good as before
@@TheOman1997a lot of things lmao.
Honestly as a kid I thought it was great, loved watching RAW and SmackDown every week, if I were the age I am now that I was then, I don't think I'd enjoy watching WWE back then 😂
That’s when I stopped watching that and miz championship run
Anonymous raw GM
Bragging Rights never made sense to me, even back then. What exactly did the winners bragged about? Our show is not as bad as yours? 😂
Well, it’s like the All-Star games in baseball and basketball
Bragging Rights is pointless when you're already doing Raw Vs Smackdown during Survivor Series.
To me SS should be the only time the brands cross over other than during the draft (and the rumble match)
@@UKProgRock no Rob versus SmackDown Survivor series suck. Something else we could’ve done the main fracking rice important is to have a stipulation fee that the winner of the elimination match gets the last 15 spots in the royal rumble.
It was literally the same as Survivor Series 😂😂
Why create a show that's going to make one of your brands look inferior?
I remember watching this show as a kid in my first year of watching wrestling, and I thought Taker was legit dead. Had fun with the tag matches and the opener as well
Same I liked bragging rights when I watch the highlights I just think of how much of a beast John Cena was.
Oh dude I remember being a kid and thinking that too. Wrestling is at it's most fun when you're a kid I think lol
@@dwightyboy5324I think its just wwe sucks so bad now that when you get older you get use to how bad wrestling. like we all know its predetermined which when you first herd that as a kid it breaks your heart and then suddenly start to hate it cause we know it’s fake.
I thought brand exclusive pay-per-view were a good idea, and I think they should bring them back now, except have it be every other month for each show. That way shows have more time to develop stories for the pay-per-view rather than just four weeks.
That is exactly what the WWE did for years. The shows were hit or miss back then, but I think today it would just be to close to a good episode of whichever show represented.
Right. Like a ppv for Raw in September and one for Smackdown in October. This gives each brand two months to build up the stories.
Finally, an episode of worst Shows Ever that I was actually in the building for.
How did it feel being there live?
@@freakfoxvevo7915 Being there live always makes the show seem better. Ziggler & Bryan was the match of the night.
The Raw Vs SmackDown elimination match was still miles better than the previous year’s one from Bragging Rights 2009
You know they cared more about this gimmick when it was at survivor series
Since we are talking about outdated PLE, who else thinks maybe either WWE or at the least NXT should give Cyber Sunday another try? Give the fans real choices in every match and I honestly think it could be revived back to a yearly show!
I’m kinda shocked they haven’t brought that back yet
True,it sucked that they cancelled Cyber Sunday. The 2008 PPV was the reason why 2008 was great
Crazy to think David Otunga was only one in that match to not win a royal rumble
Surprised you didn't mention Undertaker getting injured and the Buried Alive match finish being changed to accomodate this.
Wait what happened?
@@33dbzthe Undertaker was originally scheduled to win the World Heavyweight till he hurt his shoulder.
6:42 I just noticed that they use the new SD logo they introduced in late 2010 even though the game and the Bragging Rights show uses the old logo...
I can understand SvR '11 having that error because game development takes a long time
Oh man the Sean Locke line got me. He is missed.
So long Dental Plan😂😂
Breaking point wasn’t submission focused it was about well, the breaking point, which is why it had I quit matches. Plus over the limit basically took over breaking points gimmick
RIP Sean Lock
Eh?
Eh?
Jesus, look at Drew McIntyre back then compared to now. An absolute monster
This PPV almost made me quit watching WWE until AJ Styles' 2016 debut.
I don't think you've heard Metallica's 2 albums since St Anger. Death Magnetic and Hardwired.... Were on the same tempo and energy as their first 4 albums
The first version of this gimmick was the invasion PPV
And it repeated for the rest of the year until Survivor Series
Bryan vs Ziggler was incredible, Ziggler had incredible PPV matches around this time with Rey also
idk why but one of the only things I remember about this show is them using the PPV to promote SVR and they used a clip of a CAW for Layla😭
And Wade Barrett🤣
It's particularly funny how big the Bragging Rights trophy is, as if to make sure they had enough room to engrave all the names of every future Bragging Rights winners on it as if it were the Stanley Cup. Mighty presumptive of WWE.
Should’ve brought it back in 2016 😂
Been listening about Nexus on my own while noticing that this PPV involving them was uploaded hours ago at the same time coincidentally. Also, even Paul Bearer is in this PPV. R.I.P. Paul Bearer.😢
Why bring up Dave Meltzer's match ratings? Dave is unqualified to make any such ratings or opinions and you giving him the spotlight is only going to encourage him, Stop.
He never rated a single Kurt Angle match with five stars...
His opinions don't mean ish at that point
The only match i remembered from this was dolph ziggler vs danial bryan
I do think with Survivor Series being used for War Games now WWE could bring this back for the RAW vs Smackdown concept
I feel that 8/10 cats does countdown reference
Elimination Chamber and Money in the Bank at least made some sense as gimick PPV
Bragging Rights was just Survivor Series (Diet Midcard edition)
Once again: poor Natalya
Ah yes this is the point where i started tuning out of wrestling. 2010-13 & 2018-2021 are probably my least favorite eras
I don't know why I remember when Rhodes and Drew were champs. They were called the Chosen Ones and I think they lost those titles to Kofi and Evan Bourne
Bragging Rights could have been a great PPV concept. Unfortunately, its inception came at possibly the lowest point, in terms of booking, in the history of WWE.
One of my first ppv’s I watched as a child. It’s a miracle I’m still a wrestling fan after growing up in that era…
Spot on about Sean Lock, miss him everyday
Fraser made me happy by referencing 8oo10CDC and then made me sad by referencing Sean Locke :(
I honestly wish they'd given Breaking Point another chance. I felt like it had promise...
I liked Breaking Point
You know, I actually got it right when prompted to guess who was on which brand at the time. I feel nothing but shame over how thorough my mental database is on this horrible era of WWE history.
The only WWE show I've ever been to was the go home raw in Calgary for this
This show was something worse than being flat out bad.
It was incredibly boring and forgettable.
Popped for the Hardcore Justice tease 👀
I liked The Dibiase Posse wish they would’ve done more with it
What's going on with Fraser's tongue on this one? 🔵
The best match of that PPV to me was the Elimination Tag Team Match for the trophy
Shawn Michaels hit JBL with Sweet Chin Music whilst he "worked for him" in 2008, in order to ensure JBL won a match (possibly retained a title but cant quite remember that bit)
This is one i definitely agree with, this was a garbage show, i thought it was weird & it made no sense including no pay off to the nexus helping kane to bury undertaker
i’d rather them bring back bragging Rights, then do raw versus SmackDown as survivor series
I remember this very well and stopped watching WWE full time afterwards...Go figure.
Thanks Cultaholic Wrestling
Why do you put Meltzer ratings? Those are trash.
You’re wrong… Metallica ages like fine wine!
popeye on spinach flavored bath salts. funniest thing ive heard in a long time 😂
Who is that under kane in that pic? @ 5:06
This is what happens when youre at the top and get bored
Let be honest except for Daniel and Punk...Nothing was memorable in early 2010's
Kofi Kingston
Next 1st april we need " every bragging rights ppv ranked from worst to best"
😂
Good to see ya again Fraser
How on earth do you explain that wwe is still fun to watch even though its mainly scripted?😂
If Vince words to replace wrestlemania, I wonder what he will call it?
Sportsentertainavirus.
Ay, it's better than anything that old waste of matter could come up with.
I had the choice to go to Bragging Rights or the Vikings vs. Packers game
I chose the Football game. Rather glad I did after watching this video. Big yikes
I love the Head shout out!!
Wow I forgot this pay per view even existed, and no wonder it was on worst shows ever.
RIP Sean Lock 8of10c will never be the same
So weird to see myself in a cultaholic video.
The actual smackdown vs raw match should’ve had draft implications; say if smackdown won they’d get the first pick in the upcoming draft. Or if not that, maybe the competitors in the match itself could’ve been promised championship matches if their team won. Honestly, just glad it doesn’t exist anymore altogether
2009’s was awkward because ECW was still on Syfy 😂
i was at bragging rights 2009 in pittsburgh, i was 8 years old. i remember being fuckin STOAKED to see the iron man match between randy orton and john cena
That tattoo dig was harsh lol
I remember I fell asleep during this match. In a room full of people. I thought Randy Orton style of wrestlers was so boring around this time.
i almost forgot this ple even existed.
Yeah no shit with that last line there.😅
I hope that you guys will do Royal Rumble 2012 or Summerslam 2010
5:08 Actually Survivor Series at that point in WWE did not have inter brand matches so the appeal for Bragging Rights was there.
I know this would be difficult to pull off, but if the new parent company was smart, they would secretly fund a completely different wrestling promotion that is portrayed as being independent of WWE to get some of that Monday Night Wars heat going on again. How are people supposed to care about these two different brands that are part of the same company? You need an entirely different company to make it compelling. Seeing as how TKO is a public company, this would be nearly impossible to pull off, but having two different brands under the same company warring with each other is dumb, even for wrestling.
I was there and it's the most forgetful show I've ever been to.
“Please pay attention to me tattoos” ??? Shots fired at Sam and Adam?
Now Ted Jr is Nailz 😂
The only way it would have made sense would have been if the winning team all received title matches or something..
Wow hearing that Brett Favre had game at same time makes me feel old
Im not gonna lie id debate buying buried alive
I would have paid to see AWA One Night Stand just to see Hogan do any clean job
Lita did when she hit edge with the title in a match with cena
Raw vs Smackdown is a desperate attempt to recreate the rivalry that WCW provided. It fails because it's not real competition. Smackdown isn't and never will be Nitro.
If Wade Barrett never got hurt, he wouldn’t easily been the 6th good English wrestler of all time(hayter, sabre, ospreay, regal, pac I guess)
Who the hell is Tyler Reks??
Someone explain to me why wwe thought some jobber with dreads who looks like a caw from a wwe game should be on team smackdown with a bunch of former and future world champions. Say what you want about ezekiel jackson, at least some people remember this guy because his theme song slapped unlike tyler reks
This show is like opening a time capsule but its just filled with poo
My first ppv I was at. It was aight.
PG wrestling, don't remind me. This era was cancer.
It's almost as bad as the attitude era
Just a big sword really 😂
2010 is the year I stopped watching WWE has much. I stopped watching after the Nexus got buried and that storyline just went downhill fast.
I actually remember liking the 2009 version better. I didn’t think this one was bad per se, but the 2009 version was better.
Whoever thinks Vince is a creative genius, here is one eample of a rebuttal for ya.
Braggers rights was the Ppv I completely forgot because early 2010s wwe was rubbish and creatively bankrupt at that point.
I was at this show 😂
I think Kevin Nash or John Laurinaitis should’ve been revealed as anonymous Raw GM in 2011
Feel like people would have struggled to take Kevin seriously after hiding behind a laptop to run Raw, John Lauranitus sounds like a good plan or been convinced on it being revealed as Michael Cole emailing himself
I stopped watching wwe for awhile after this ppv im sure… I liked the dolph vs Bryan match but the rest was awful I also didn’t like what they was doing with nexus and having the miz as champion it wasn’t until the rock returned and the rise of the shield that I started getting interested again
This was my first wwe ppv ever lol
I'm very sorry
