I love your channel, sir! I recently bought a road king that needed some work and I hate to say it but when it comes to motorcycles I know very little. Watching your videos were a huge help! Felt like I was working in the garage with my Dad again, without him yelling at me for holding the flash light wrong lol
Happy to help. Any questions just ask. Good luck with your new Road King and I relate to everything you said about working with my dad again and the yelling. Thank you for your support Joshua. Ride safe and have a great day.
Thanks again Rocco you always post great video which are very helpful

Yep, I too have used the Lightning battery. I only had one issue. The battery arrived with one of the terminals smashed but they sent me a new battery. Ride hard, drive safe brother. 👍🏽🙂 6/8/22
Thank you for sharing. And all your support. Ride safe and have a great day.
Thanks for a nice video and the recommendation of the Lightning Start battery. I will definitely make a note of it. I replaced the battery in my Road King yesterday with one I picked up from Battery Source (the previous one lasted 5 years - I use a battery tender, too, during the winter months). My '06 Road King Classic doesn't have the cover that your '11 RK has. When I remove my seat, there's my battery - nothing is covering it. There is a little clamp on the left rear that bolts to the frame and holds the battery in place. I have to tighten the crap out of my positive cable though, or the bike will make a sound like the battery is low (even though it's a brand new battery) - makes a clicking sound and tries unsuccessfully to turn over. After I tighten the crap out of the positive cable, it cranks like a champ.
Yes that can be a problem, Thankful you caught that. Any questions just ask. Thank you for your Sub. Ride Safe and have a great day.
You may need to replace your clamp or the whole cable if it won't tighten down.
Big power!

Great video & good looking Road King but if I didn't need a battery tomorrow(Friday) for my Road King for vacation, I would order this one you recommended. Guess I'll settle for OEM battery at local HD dealership. Next time for sure! Y'all be safe & God Bless!!

Thanks for all the videos. Really helpful. Quick question. What seat do you have on that Road King. Looks like a lot of padding for your passenger. My wife complains about seat comfort. Thanks again
That would be a stock HD seat. For that year bike and they are a few years they cover. At any dealer show them a picture or even search it out on eBay. I hope this helps thank you for watching Timothy. Ride safe and have a great day. And keep the wife happy. But I think you know that.

Hi Rocco, Thanks for all your video's. You have inspired me to go over my whole bike now with knowledge i never expected to have. My battery is weak, 9 years old, so I bought a lightening start and it came damaged but what i noticed most was the material the post was made off, definitely not lead and on mine that is where the damage was, looks like a steel or aluminum post. The picture on the amazon site showed the usual type lead post so i was wondering if you know anything about this, I don't know how to post a picture of this but it seemed real cheap. I did straighten it out and installed but I am not to confident something may have been damaged inside too. 02 Road King also.
I like the metal posts. The lead tend to fail with any kind of hard starts. So how's your bike start now?
@@TwoWheelRocco It seems to start okay, But because the post was smashed in when I received it i am concerned of the connection inside where the steel connects to the lead now which of coarse you can't see. If it was not damaged I would not have worried about it but in the process of straightening it out i really had to man handle the post.
I love them rims on your bike, did they come with it when you bought it? Thanks.
Yes they did,, Any questions just ask. Thank you for your Sub. Ride Safe and have a great day.
Thanks for the video Rocco, how long did you get out of the battery you’re replacing, just about to replace my road king battery I got 3 years out of it is that an average life expectancy? Thanks
Yes that is the average life expectancy on those batteries. I like them there's no hesitation but when they go bad they go bad. I hope that helped, Thank you for watching Dags and all your support. Ride safe and have a great day.
Thank you
Happy to help. I love those lightning start batteries, So will you. Thank you for watching and all your support Osvaldo. Ride safe and have a great day.
Hey, can you tell me what bars those are on your RK? They look great!
Sorry to say. That was a customers bike. I do not know the style of those handlebars.. Thank you for watching and your Sub Eric, Ride Safe and have a great day.
Hi there !
My RK is 2004 injection.
A question about the batt relacement: is there a special work to do because the alarm ?
I do mean, what about the time without battery connection ?
Many thanks for your reply 🤝
Happy to help. There is no time, disconnect the battery, when you get a new battery installed everything will be be back to normal. Thank you for watching and your sub Toro. Let us know how that works out. Ride safe and have a great day.
Do you have to turn ignition ON and take out the main 40A fuse before changing the battery or it will activate the security sistem? Or are this steps unnecessary if you are nearby with the FOB?
Happy to Help, What ever you're comfortable with.It does not matter. Removing the 40A Fuse is the best way. I remove the negative and then the positive and take it out your battery. Any questions just ask. Thank you watching and your Sub Hottymkknotty.. Ride Safe and have a great day.
Hey Rocco question.... On my 883 I have the conversion kit so I have a big crank battery and thicker battery cables how do I get the battery box out of the bike so I can modify it alittle to accommodate the larger cables it's just too dam tight in there. Not the battery cover it's the plastic box inside the frame that the battery sits in
What year Sportster?
@@TwoWheelRocco sorry 2006
Hope this helps. Take a look, xlforum.net/forums/showthread.php?t=1662468. After 04 they are soon what the same. Let us know how this works out. Thank you for your Sub. Ride Safe and have a great day.
I have an unrelated question...my bad
Can I unplug a TPS on a carburated bike? 07 Shadow Spirit 750
Yes but I would not. Let us know how this works out.
Thank you
I don't see Lightning Batteries available on eBay at all. Maybe they stopped carrying them or selling them. I ended up going to my local Batteries Plus store. Not the cheapest but a good battery. Duracell DURAGM-30LA-US. Got the one made in the USA, gray bottom as opposed to the one made in China, black bottom. 2 yr warranty.
They are all back ordered, probably China.. USA. Duracell. I have to give them a look we must buy USA as hard as that is. Thank you for letting us know.
does the process of reconnecting the battery change when the bike has a fuel management system(stage 1) ?
Happy to help. No difference with the fuel management system you can disconnect the battery reconnected, change batteries. Hope that helpsThank you for watching and your sub Jefry.. Ride safe and have a great day
@@TwoWheelRocco thanks man ! btw, great videos !

Is the lightning battery lithium ?
No, I agree Lithium are the best you can get. But this is 600 CC Amps....Real Nice. Thank you for your Sub. Ride Safe and have a great day.
Two Wheel Rocco I have not tried a lithium yet but thinking about going that route on my Rk. When needed. Thanks
@@scrumthebum2451 It is all about CCA with big V-Twin motors. Lithiums are not cheap and do not have the 600 CCAmps. Let me know how it works out. I have a lithium in my GSXR and I love it. Was reasonable for that bike.
Two Wheel Rocco mainly doing it for weight savings. Yes they are expensive unfortunately. My original hd battery is 5 years old and still going strong
@Two Wheel Rocco
Got a bike master lithium DFLP-30L-BS on eBay for 242$ with 2 year warranty. 625 cranking amps. So far so good spins my 10.25 compression road king over like the spark plugs are out. 😆. Only rode 3 times though.can feel the 20 lb weight savings on acceleration and I’m happy about that 👍
Very thankful to you this guy was goong to charge me $50 to chamge battery. What a joke?😢
