There are actually 3 different Slavic languages, each one for a different Slavic language family (western - Czech, eastern - Ukrainian, southern - Bulgarian) so it kinda symbolizes all the Slavic nations, with our similar languages, related culture, traditions, history... related just like the sisters in the video. Plus the members are from various Slavic nations - three are Czechs, one is Slovak, one is Bulgarian and one is Russian (+ they've also collaborated with one Ukrainian). And the song is about the support to our Slavic Ukrainian sister who is in need. I can't even say how happy I am for seeing my country sending this time something more traditional, ethnic, with (also) Czech language... something that I've been waiting for for years 🤩🥰 Btw. just to let you know - the group is called after Vesna - an old Slavic pagan goddess of spring and fertility 😊
Unfortunately you chose the dodgy selection version. The video is superb. For me this is the song of the year in terms of message, impact and inclusively.
The Czech nationals this year were very, very low budget and there were so many technical difficulties, even in the winner announcement livestream so I'm sure they'll be great at the big stage
I completely agree with Tyler I really like this song (it's in my top 5 at the moment) but I hear it once and I'm stated, I don't need to hear it again. Lol after we said, "Why did you react to Carpe Diem Studio not live?" and this one it would have been good to see the music video HAHA the harmonies when properly mixed just washes over you and sounds AMAZING so fingers crossed in Liverpool the mixing can be nailed, so that the harmonies can be heard
After a couple seasons hanging with Myrtle and experiencing Eurovision with everyone in the comments, I have learned that I need to watch / listen to more than just what we originally react to. I do enjoy hearing the differences between live performance and music video. sometimes songs are better live, other times they're more impactful in the music video. I think it's quite interesting when there are revamps of a song because it takes thought on my part to understand what they changed and why. It is great (for me) reading what everyone has to say and suggestions for other versions to listen to.
At this moment for me top number 1 is Czech Republic - Just amazing song, good music, nice voices, strong and direct message. ~~~❤CHOOSE LOVE OVER POWER plus WOMEN EMPOWERMENT ❤~~~ the song touches on so many topics… and it produces me goosebumps… Hopefully it wins Eurovision Song Contest 2023 and let’s go for Prague2024. Will be difficult but let’s go 4 it😅 People, you have just to vote for it !!
Last year I proposed that we wear the exact same outfit every time we recorded. alas, I was outvoted. We record a few at a time, so it still seems like that at times... BUT -- you could totally advocate for the fun "assigned wardrobe" and maybe I'd gain some influence 😛
How about dressing up as your favorite Eurovision acts from past years? Then you wouldn't need to worry about wardrobe change cause you'd always look like Eurovision Superfans.😁😁
The official Eurovision RUclips channel livestreamed the selection show so I watched it. The show itself felt very quickly thrown together by an event planner who had gotten exasperated (I say this as someone whose been an event planner). Anyways, Vesna, Pam Rabbit, and Rodan were the performance that stood out to me during the show and I did go watch the music videos afterwards, too, since I found out in chat that there were music videos. I came to the conclusion that the sound quality, etc were just part of the overall production....which also showed up in the results show a few days later where there were sound issues, video glitches, and other issues. The host was the same guy and he really took it in stride and was able to maintain a fun and carefree attitude for both shows. According to him he wasn't being paid to host, but after watching both shows I definitely think he should have been compensated because his ability to just roll with whatever was happening and keep a smile and even keep the artists feeling comfortable and having fun is what made it enjoyable to watch. Anyways, I think that the performance for Eurovision will be even better and I think it might even be incredibly memorable for 2023's show if they stage it right because the music video is visually phenomenal so there's definitely plenty of creativity there to work with. Rodan's song is still stuck in my head so I still listen to it and I think Pam Rabbit's song is equally great and still listen to it as well. I finally decided to stop being lazy and ranked the currently released Eurovision songs using the MyEurovisionScore app and so far this song is in my top 10 (it's changed its exact position as other songs are released going up and down, but staying in the top 10 so far). I laughed at the notion of "astronomy reaction predictions". I guess he's not entirely wrong. If you're vague enough with one's predictions then it does lower the chances of being wrong. I think it's funny how in every video you ask them their pre-impressions for the song and they instead provide predictions on what they think the wardrobe, choreography, staging, etc will be. Basically everything except the song itself and you're the only one that if you do share your pre-impressions you actually do say something about the song like what genre you think it might be or something that's actually music related. It kind of reminds me of some of the reactors on React to the K who do the same thing when Umu (the one who started that channel and is filming the reactors) asks similar questions to the classical and jazz musicians reactors regarding the kpop songs they're about the react to. But I guess it's easy when watching music videos and live performances to get so used to certain visual themes that those are easier to have pre-impressions about than a song with only the title known when a title doesn't usually tell much about a song (especially song titles that are just a single word). Great reaction! Glad you got your computer problems resolved and are back to being able to make and share videos again!
Let's be honest - the production for the Czech selection programme wasn't the best, and they have a couple of months to work on some really good choreography. I'd like to see them dressed as they are in the official video. The outfits here clashed terribly 🙂 But it's one of the better songs this year, I think.
I like it, its around 5th for me right now. I haven’t heard it enough yet to know if it’s going to be a staple on my Eurovision playlists yet… but it might. I really like the harmonies and general sound… but the chorus seems maybe a little weak to me. For now at least. Maybe repeated listens will change that?
I appreciate both the idea and the meaning, and I think the song is great, but it would've sounded better to me personally if it was entirely in Czech.
Nearly all the entries so far are gimmicky cause they all seem to be devoid of good lyrics, infectious music and catchy chorus. How is this 6th in the odds? I dare anyone to say this year is better than 2021 or even 2022. Hate to say it but this is rapidly becoming one of the worst years for Eurovision.
the visuals in the official video are mind-blowing
I'm excited to watch it!
Amazing!

The official video sounds better than the live performance. So I am curious how it will be at Eurovision.
I think you can also tell that the audio mix wasnt great for the chorus...

Watching your videos has become a highlight for me each year! Really love how you all bring a unique perspective.
The music video is so much better!
This is probably my favourite Czechia´s entry ever and in a bigger stage with better production this has so much potential for a top 10.
I'm with you. Can't stop listening to the song :D
For me too!
Hey, welcome back, as a Polish Eurovision fan I really needed some ESC content that doesn't have to do with our NF so this is most welcome.
Haha. We'll pretend I timed this JUST for you.

Pitty you didnt react to the official video 😞
Just realized everyone's wearing the same clothes from 2 weeks ago. Let's pray it wasn't actually 2 weeks. 😂😂

You should've reacted to the music video!!!!
This is my #1 for Eurovision right now. Loreen is a close #2.

You should have seen music video its much better
i love this song but live performance sounds awful
Wow, in this video you don't speak at all while the song was playing, something that didn't happen with the Spanish representative. 😄
this is an incredibly rare phenomenon, for sure.
