There's no one else like Loreena McKennitt. So many songs of hers to recommend...The Mummer's Dance, The Old Ways, Penelope's Song, Dante's Prayer, Caravanserai, Bonny Portmore, All Soul's Night, Never-ending Road... The list goes on. Pick any of those, you'll be swept away.
don't forget her amazing cover of the classic greensleeves. Or her hits, like Lady of Shalott or the Highwayman. It's just nonstop content that his you like an arrow in the heart.
@@JosephTheAustin You're right, I didn't mention the covers and especially the classic pieces that she's put to music. She has an incredible talent for putting music to words. The Lady of Shalott is my person favorite of those.
Come on. This is my favorit from her, .... but what is with "Night ride across the Kaukasus"? The first song I hear from her in the film "Soldier" (an incredible film). It was my personal enter in this unbelieable music.
"Marco Polo" , "Night Ride Across the Caucasus", "The Highwayman" (Loreena's adaptation of Alfred Noyes poem/ballad), "Greensleaves" (another adapatation of a famous poem/ballad) come to mind immediately after viewing your great list.
Her song Dante’s Prayer is probably the single most beautiful song I’ve ever heard, with lyrics most poets would die for. Give that one a try sometime.
I finally got to see her last November. It was a pared down band made even smaller because Hugh Marsh was temporarily out (recovering from Covid) but Loreena and the other 3 with her produced an incredible concert. She is mind blowing and she has surrounded herself with incredible, and incredibly professional, musicians. She came across as a very kind person and I love that she schedules her concerts often with a day in between so she can take time to walk around the city she is in and absorb the local atmosphere.
YES YES YES YES about time this amazing artist started to get some reaction love. Seen her live twice and she is just stunning, also check out Santiago from the same live concert with Hugh Marsh on the fiddle. WOW. MORE PLEASE :)
You guys should react to more Loreena McKennitt… "The Mummer's Dance", "Night Ride Across the Caucasus", "Dante's Prayer", "The Highwayman", "Penelope's Song", "Santiago", "All Souls Night", "The Old Ways", "The Visit", "Bonny Portmore", "Marrakesh Night Market", "Prologue" 🪗🤘
This concert and especially this magnificent venue with lighting is astonishing. Loreena has a super knit and gifted musicians. Always top shelf culture instruments players. The whole concert video is mind blowing. Loreena seems underrated but this angelic angel deserves to be honored. Like Kennedy Honors. She deserves what is rightfully so. Honor.
I was there at the wonderful palace of the Alhambra in september 2006 when they did this DVD. The whole concert is amazing. Loreena is masterclass and beyond. Thank you for reacting to this wonderful Lady
You absolutely need to watch and listen to this whole concert! Nights from the Alhambra, Loreena McKennitt! The live version! ❤️🔥💝💖! It’s absolutely amazing and beautiful! Love Love LOVE IT!!!!
I was fortunate enough to see Loreena live several years ago. It was in a much smaller venue with far less musicians, but was still a life altering experience. She is a real treasure.
You two should check out this whole concert sometime, I'm a big 80's & old school Metalhead, but I love her because she's so different & unique, I got to see her live twice in concert 20 or so years ago, and both times were amazing.
I had the honor of seeing her live at the Chicago Theater during the Book of Secrets Tour. It was absolutely magical and I still remember it over 20 years later.
I think I've listened to this song probably more than any other song ever, and I listen mostly to metal! Stumbled upon her by accident in the early 2000's, she is absolutely amazing!
I started to love Loreena since I saw her at the opening ceremony of the Vancouver 2010 winter olympics. First of many artists in a folk/fiddle medley 👌
Lovely person used to drink breakfast coffee with and her mother in Stratford Ont. Shared a warehouse space with her- zero sense of self importance- a gem.
I have seen so many reactions of you, this will be the first time for me to make a comment. As an all time metalhead I have a weakness for Loreena. Her music is beyond words for me. I had have the privilege to see her live for my birthday and till this day it beats everything I have seen so far, and that's a lot. She makes me feel home, warm, epic, wandering through history. Her influences are huge and above all, she is the most awesome human being I have ever met. Thank you for make a reaction video on her.
This song is partially used in the movie Mists of Avalon. Highlander also uses one of her songs and another movie that uses one of her songs might be something like "Cinderella Forever" or something along those lines.
And she's Canadian, eh? You cannot go wrong with LM. Everything is as if kissed by angels. (I know, but come on.) "Book of Secrets" lived in my CD player for about two years before I gave it a rest.
The Alhambra in Spain is an architectural gem from the time of the Muslim invasion. In it you can enjoy the most beautiful sunsets. You should look it up on the internet, you'll love it. Greetings from Spain! 😘
All Souls Night is another beautiful arrangement and there's a live version, maybe from the same concert, that shows the eclectic mix of instruments and talents. The Visit is one of her best collections on CD.
Nothing is more soothing than Gregorian chanting (the background music after the initial North African/Moroccan sounding music). You should really check out the live performance of "The Sound of Silence" by a group named Gregorian (make sure you review the live performance at the Cathederal of Santiago de Compestella. You cannot go wrong with any song you happen to choose from Miss McKennitt. She is so amazing, I do hope to see her perform live one day...

Her concert in the Alhambra was absolutely magic 💜
I totally agree with you. I bought the DVD many years ago and I love watching it over and over again 💜
I had the pleasure of seeing Loreena live. She is mind blowing. I still can't believe a human being can sing like that.
Have you heard of Annie Haslam? Another angelic voice. And also old- world type music. I'd love to see them collaborate on something.

Her song, "The Highwayman," is incredible. As is, "Dante's Prayer."
The Highwayman is my favorite of all time. An absolute gem. That violin 'riff' is insane.
Dante’s prayer tears me up every time
The highway man is from a poem. She leaves out a couple of stanzas for time.
YES YES YES YES about time this amazing artist started to get some reaction love. Seen her live twice and she is just stunning, also check out Santiago from the same live concert with Hugh Marsh on the fiddle. WOW. MORE PLEASE :)
Loreena is from my home province of Manitoba. I did see her in concert as well. All Soul's Night and the Mummers Dance are favourites as well.
Dante's Prayer is my favourite ❤

I like it already. Great vocals and instruments.
Actually had a chance to see her in concert and was not disappointed 👍🏻 I love chilling to her music, just close your eyes and listen ☺️
She's one of my all time faves
My favorite by her
Thank you

SHE IS EPIC.........
I was fortunate enough to see Loreena live several years ago. It was in a much smaller venue with far less musicians, but was still a life altering experience. She is a real treasure.
I was lucky enough to be able to attend one of her concerts, and it was every bit as magical is it looks.

Canadian legend! Been a fan since her Elementals album came out in 1985. This song was used in the tv show Roar starring Heath Ledger.
I had the honor of seeing her live at the Chicago Theater during the Book of Secrets Tour. It was absolutely magical and I still remember it over 20 years later.
My favorite song of hers is " Night ride across the Caucusus" incredible!

She also reminds me a bit of the Candice Night, singer and band Blackmore's Night and together with her husband Ritchie Blackmore
Except that Loreena has been making music for far longer then Candice.
@@ChrisEchoes yes, of course, because she is older
I remember her but not since 25 years ago. She's such a great singer, with great music.
Love her

You and I are on the same wavelength. And for Christmas, 'Dickens' Dublin'.
This will be played at my wake , then all will drink several IPA’s in my memooory
my absolute favorite song by loreena is Bonny Portmore, which appears as a soundtrak in the film and the series Highlander and I also like it there
She's a true Legend like ENYA & LISA GERRARD !
you should hear the "fire dance" by Looreena! No singing, but .... wauw .... so fiery! And also from that beautiful place: the Alhambra!

The entire Nights from the Alhambra DVD is absolutely amazing. Check out Dantes Prayer, The Old Ways, Caravanseri, Santiago, and so many others
I've been to two of her concerts. Her live is as good if not better than her recorded music. All of her songs are fantastic.
THE HIGHWAYMAN……!!!!❤
There are videos of the film ' the mists of Avalon' with her works on the soundtrack
You have discovered a truely well kept Canadian secret.
Musical goddesses.
How about Annie Haslam? Another angelic voice. And also old- world type music. I'd love to see her and Loreena collaborate on something.
If you like her, you should listen to Celtic Woman.
She is a Reknowned Name Amici
she Canadian ,from Canadia 🤣🤣🤣
Please react to death lack of comprehension live
Loreena traced her Celtic heritage back to the Indo-Europeans. they worshiped the elements( wiccan?)
earth and mysticism
Canadian singer-songwriter ❤️🇨🇦
