Hey everyone! It's Speedy, back with another reaction, but this time it's something a bit different and very new! It's an animation called Hazbin Hotel by Vivziepop and her cast and crew! This had been in the works for over a year, and it came out a few days before Halloween this year. As of today, the video has 3.2 million views after only 4 days, which is insane! But, enough about the analytics. The story of the animation follows the princess of Hell, Charlie, who is trying to create a hotel in Hell to rehabilitate the sinners who inhabit Hell. And since this cartoon takes place in Hell (I sure am saying Hell a lot, huh?) you can expect a lot of gratuitous dark humor and situations, and there is a LOT of it, so if that doesn't tickle your fancy, then I wouldn't recommend that you watch this reaction or this series. If it does, then I hope that you enjoy watching this with me!

I love how when he said “smile! Your never fully dressed without one!” Is a call back to when Vivziepop released a video about what she thought the voices of her characters should sound like, and that song was the one she thought fit perfectly with Alastor.

Something that is important to note: Alastor is never NOT smiling... EVER.
Alastor believes smiling is a sign of dominance, those who frown before him are seen as weaker by him. Probably why he likes Charlie so much. And respects the Devil, her father who smiles in the portrait.

It's also mentioned in a podcast featuring the voice actors playing the characters, (not sure which one, not willing to search just yet) that Alastor, when asked by a fan to give his unfiltered opinion, likes Charlie's smile and positive attitude.

Alastor died in 1933, but Tom Trench is the oldest that we know of. A theory is that he died from a gas attack in WW1 in the trenches, hence his mask, and last name. Also, if I remember this right, Alastor was a cereal killer, and a radio host in the early 1900s, and it’s theorized that he was shot by a hunter who though he was a deer, hence the antlers on his head. Vaggie died in 2014, the youngest, but it’s not known how. Katie killjoy died in the 1990s, but I can’t remember how she died. Angle dust was one of 3 siblings in a mob family, and either died from a drug overdose, hate crime, or during the second mafia war I think, placing his death in the 1980s, along with cherry bomb, though I don’t believe she had any relations to Angle before death. SirPentious died either in the Great Blizzard of 1888, or on the titanic, moving to the US to earn more recognition for his inventions.

@@MarkoPolo1223 you are right, the titanic sunk in 1912 on April 15. Ww1 started in 1914. Sir pentious died in 1888, mean he is older that alastor, angel, veggie, Charlie, cheeri bomb, husker, Katie killjoy, Tom trench, and nifty. Unless charlie was born after lucifer was casted down, which would make her the first oldest and pentious the second. However I don't think that's the case. As far as I know he is the oldest.

Yeah this show has so much dark stories behind these scenes and it can be true, so my favorite character is Alastor but I’m hoping forward to more of Hazbin Hotel
...So, uh...am I the only one thinking Vaggie might be a (barely) fallen angel? Aside from the obvious eyepatch thing (compared to the opening number), she seems to have actual morals and compassion--at least as much as the half-angel protagonist (I very much doubt Luci's origins will fail to come up at some point). Would also explain why she's with Charlie--she's trying to persuade the heir to hell to pursue a rehabilitative stance on sinners.
Hell, it'd explain why she fell--she wasn't willing to accept the judgement placed upon demons, and wants to find a way to save them.

What I'm saying is that she's dating Charlie for more reasons than just "she's cute and I like her." Whether that's because she's the only vaguely moral person around, Charlie's also part angel, she wants influence over the Princess of Hell for the sake of saving demons, or all of the above.

I believe there was some Word of God that she was a girl who died in 2014, but since that same thing also said she and Charlie were friends I suppose it might not be reliable.
So the characters are either just demons in themselves or identify with their sin, so in the hotel we have a Demon Overlord, Daughter of the Devil, a sex addict hooker, an alcoholic gambler, a clean freak, and a lesbian. Can’t wait for episode 2

Satan and Lucifer are considered separate in this series and since Lucifer is King of hell, Satan is most likely the beast. When Satan (the goat-like beast) is on the left of Charlie you can see a childlike horned firgure at his side. This could be Lucifer as a child raised by Satan or it could represent Satan as being the direct father of all Imps which are among few natives in Hell. When they are to the right of Charlie, they point Charlie toward Hell, one goat-like beast (Satan), followed by her father Lucifer as you can see wearing the hat in silhouette.
Fun fact: the name of the soundtrack for when Alastor ‘kills’ Sir Pentious is known officially as ‘Sir Pentious F**king Dies’

Alastor, a Violent Monster of Chaos, make me think about an other creature of chaos, Him and Discord really can make a crazy team... the two are powerful...and at least funny... i already have a weak spot for him... only because his personality remember Discord's one...
Since you asked what a pentagram is, thats the star shapped mark that is in the sky of the show, Pentagrams is used aloot for magical rituals or summoning's, and after Christianity it was changed from being a mark for magic in general to be a mark for dark magic or summonings from hell.

Aloot of things releated to magic and the arcane art's got changed after Christianity, exampel did you know that the mark for hospitals used to be owned by Hermes the greek god of travel, thiefs, hospitality and messages it was his weapon/mark.
Loots of things got demonized or changed to somthing new after Christianity began even Hermes got changed from a god to a profhet of medichin hence why his caduceus is used as a mark for hospitals.

@@SpeedyTempo I really like mythology, Specialy the one's of the Greek gods, north, Japanese and Irish folklore. Though I'm no expert on this supject and might get some information wrong at time's, just so you know.
One thing I like most is that it is us humans who give rise and power to gods, the more we belive in them the stronger they get, wile the more we start to forget them the more mortal they become, wile this can be both a blessing and a curse to the gods it is still somthing about the olds myth I like.
Another thing you might not know is that most greek gods are all born from incest. Zeus could not keep his sexual lust in check and would go after any thing of the opposit gender even his own sister and daugters.
The only one who he never laid hands on was Artimis the Goddess of the hunt who promist to stay a virgin for all of time.

The purge happens on New Year's Eve it seems hence why Charlie announces with fireworks that it's the New Year as the town clock resets.
Or it could be that Hell's New Year is on Halloween hence the release date of the pilot.

Knowing Alastor is asexual makes his response to "I can suck your dick" all the more hilarious. GOD I really should not love him as much as I do since he was an actual serial killer as a human and now he's a LITERAL demon and cannibal (he's a deer demon and loves venison sooo yea) but....GOD he's stunning lol. From his personality to his design I should hate all the red tones too but my god they make it work and make it look SO good.
I know a few things from the canon but I find Alastor as the most interesting. Died in 1933, so he is very old, shot and killed by a dear hunter, (which is why he has the deer ears, deet hooves on the bottom of his shoes, and antlers), but it also said that he's cannibal as well, must be dahm good

The weird prostitute named Angle dust is a gay male prostitute who is was a member of his family's mafia before he died of an angle dust overdose. Vaggie is the lesbian girlfriend of Charlie who's origins are unknown,though she may be from some kind of tribe or place because of her weapons
and language. Charlie is the princess of hell and daughter of Lucifer, she is also the lesbian girlfriend of Vaggie and she was born in hell and not sent. Alistor aka the radio demon, was a very deadly serial killer from the 1920s who was also a radio station host, his death is unknown. The backstory of everyone else is unknown...
