I want them to bring back Trophies. Having 3D renders of characters you could view from all angles was really cool. If they just want to keep with spirits, at the very least I’d love for them to add descriptions to the Spirits. Having the little text blurb for trophies was cool and really made Smash feel like the ultimate love letter to gaming and I’d love to see that return.
Yeah. I would want Trophies back. In fact, they can port the trophies from Melee, Brawl, 3DS and Wii U and add some new trophies based on the Spirits in the game.
They could even mash em up and have a desk and wall you can place the stickers and trophies for pictures

Did just want to point out a few things with the character selection that I personally feel. Rex would be kinda weird given Pyra and Mythra are already in there, and they’d probably pick someone from Xenoblade 3, but idk who since I’ve never played it. Also Shadow for an echo fighter, a lot of people were upset, including myself, when he was announced as an assist trophy in the final direct, despite being one in previous games, and makes too much sense not to include, especially the second time around. And lastly I feel that Meowscarada is a bit more likely as a Pokemon rep, as we don’t have a fully evolved Grass starter yet
Noah from Xenoblade 3 is the main protagonist. He'd likely work similarly to Byleth by using the weapons of his fellow party members. Since you can do that in XC3. I think Meowscarada also makes more sense since bipedal characters are much easier to work with. Plus you can do some creative things with the trickster magician motif. Shadow as an echo I'm surprised he didn't mention because that's one of the easiest ones fans have wanted.
Also bandy mentioned his reasons to think Rex should be in the port was because sakurai wanted Rex in but couldn’t. But the thing is that version of Rex sakurai wanted was one where Rex was accompanied by Pyra&mythra kinda like ice climbers, and that Rex without Pyra&mythra felt kinda lame to sakurai.
Personally I'd go with Mio for an XC3 rep since Noah would feel a little too similar to Shulk to me. In my mind, Noah would basically be Shulk but a fair bit faster. The only real change would be the neutral B and the down B since Noah doesn't have Monado Arts (at least not the way Shulk does) or visions. Maybe he could switch weapons via Down B like Min Min instead of using them for different attacks like Byleth? For neutral B I'd think the safest choice would be a chargeable attack using Lucky Seven like Roy/Chrom/Ike, but what I'd rather see is a move like Sephiroth's uncharged up B, being a quick dash in a chosen direction. Now that all sounds well and good, but overall, if those are the only big changes, he's still too similar to Shulk to me. Mio's weapon of choice seems a lot more unique and I think there's just a lot more that the team could do with it to make it stand out. Just the fact that the rings can be thrown already makes them more interesting than another sword, but having moves that represent her defensive capabilities in xc3 opens even more doors. Other thing worth mentioning is the potential for different costumes. For Noah they could definitely do ones for the different party members like Shulk + a certain letter of the alphabet with an awesome gold color that id love to see, but Mio has the (very minor spoiler) change in hair length which just gives a little more variety.
Overall I think Noah would by all means be fine, (as long as they do it right and don't just entirely copy Shulk) but there's fewer characters in Smash like Mio than there are like Noah, so having her would be a bit more interesting.

On the topic of Mii fighters, it would be great if they included a customizer similar to that of Miitopia, which could be used to make the insanely realistic miis that were in that game to be more creative. Even better, we could even be able to port our Miitopia miis into Smash as Mii fighters.
This would be amazing and to add on that they could add a miitopia fighter what your saying but also add a tomadachi life fighter

Ultimate is big cause it's based on Smash WiiU directly. So that next game will likely just be bigger than Smash WiiU.
Ultimate, a new mechanic is introduced: in the event of simultaneous grabs, both characters take minimal damage and act as if a rebound occurs. Grabbing special moves are less consistent; while most behave under this new mechanic, Inhale determines the grabber at random, and Fishing Rod uses port priority.

1:50 despite how much I would want Rex in the game, I feel like it’s more fitting to have Noah be in the game instead, considering that we already have a Xeno 2 rep, and it would be nice to Noah be in the game so we can have representation for the whole xenoblade trilogy, and besides if we do get another full on smash game it’s likely we’ll get to see Noah as a character
It would be cool if the other party members would be Noah's alts kind of like bowser jr and the koopalings. I think this could work since any of the 6 main party members could use any weapon class in XC3, so there's canonically no issue with eunie using Noah's moveset for example

I feel like they could add in Rex with pyra and mythra with a stronger engine. Either make him the 3rd fighter who dual wields or have him do normal attacks while the aegis does specials like in the actual game. That way pyra and mythra are with Rex, and it doesn’t take up a character slot for a different character. Everyone wins

1:50 BRUH NOAH IS RIGHT THERE!! WE LITERALLY GOT XENOBLADE 3 LAST YEAR! I love Rex but we already have XC2 representation on the roster. I'd say suggest Elma too but who knows when X will get ported or a sequel by the time the next Smash game comes out.
One really cool thing that I'm surprised they haven't added already is Master hand mode he's already playable at the end of the game but only once why not unlock A mode after you play him where you can play him anytime you want
How about this: We add custom moves from Smash 4 back. I had a blast trying them out on each character with each move so adding them back to Ultimate would actually make characters more customizable and more interesting. It's strange how it only exists for the Mii fighters in Ultimate, so add custom moves in for every character.
I would only support this if they were automatically unlocked, as unlocking them in Smash 4 was a nightmare
For all the stages that haven't comeback and are too similar in design to stages already in Ultimate, I think I have possibly the best way to incorporate them. Steve's stage will cycle through the different biomes every time you load the stage. You could get a grass biome back to back, or you could get a grass biome and then a stone biome. And you can get night and day versions of each stage. Make the similar stages a cyclable part of the existing stages. One round you could get cornera and the next round could have cornera sector z. Just add an option to turn off cyclable stages and choose which version of the stage you want to play on. Also, this would be more of a Smash 5DX rather than a Smash 6. Unless the updates get so big it becomes another TotK situation where it might as well be a new game
A Smash Ultimate port/Deluxe version is certainly a possibility, and if it is the road they take, then there are many additions and fixes I could see happening. I don’t see us getting a second massive story mode, unless they focus it only the previous Ultimate DLC and the newcomers of the port. Good video Bandy, but I have to say, you did have a few… questionable ideas. (Zero does not work as an Echo of Megaman, at all.)

The break the target in stage builder ideas s genius, and would make so many people happy without the trouble on nintendo's part to make 90 unique stages. Another thing is definitely adding a "favorites" tab for the stage select screen. It'd be extremely helpful for competitive players to easily get to the stage they pick, and you don't have to worry about scrolling through different tabs or struggling to even find the stage on the "All" tab. Incredible video!
They should update Palutena's Guidance and Snake's Codec for all characters.

They've updated Palutena's Guidance for Ultimate, but didn't give any Palutena's Guidances for the Fighters Pass. Snake's Codec, I can't believe they did not even edit those dated conversations that said "here in Brawl!"

@@hyperlink0366 Yeah. I mean, they already expanded Palutena's Guidances in Ultimate to include Smash 4 DLC fighters, cut veterans, Ultimate's base game newcomers and Piranha Plant. I guess the voice actors for Pit, Viridi and Palutena could not be bothered to come back for every DLC coming in the game. And apparently, Snake's codec's couldn't even be updated for Ultimate because the voice actor for the colonel died. Smash recasts voice actors, right? They could bring in a new voice for the Colonel. Or if they really wanted to respect the Japanese voice actor of the Colonel, then they could just have Snake calling Otacon and Mei Ling for the new characters.
I really hope that the port will add in stuff we couldn’t see in the original. Im glad we both have very similar ideas to this approach.

My first choice for a new character is undoubtedly Ninten. People don't seem to realize his potential and how distinct he is from Ness.
Yes and no, Nintem would be a great option it could even bring some focus back to the series and who knows they might even release a remake but at the same time I would be kind of worried because Lucas didn't need to be a clone of Ness and they still did that
I genuinely would be disappointed if Fuecoco is the Pokémon choice. The fire starter is constantly the one that gets attention in Smash. Charizard was the Pokémon who got to stay when they removed the trainer in Smash 4 and Incineroar was out Ultimate Pokémon rep. The concept is cute, but let it be Sprigatito’s line so we can round out the starter final evolutions in each type. Or go with Miraidon and Koraidon, I think they’re the closest we can get to seeing another legendary mon be playable. We haven’t gotten a non starter mon since Brawl with Lucario.
I don’t really like your idea for Fuecoco, but one Pokémon I think would be awesome in Smash would be Palafin. It’s already a unique Pokémon with its gimmick, and I think it could be adapted to Smash if done right.

Honestly I could definitely see this. For a new smash game though, I’d say shorten the roster by a bunch. Only have the essentials, fan favorites, and some others. Reason why this is important is because each character gets a new move set, with the option of switching to the ultimate moves. As for new characters, well that’s up to interpretation

ive actually had this idea in my head for a while now, i think itd be great to get something like 10 new fighters 10 new echos (most probably for the new fighters). improvements to the game in general. and most importantly moveset tweaks ranging from big changes like whole new ones for ganon or just small ones like just swaping chrom for morgan in robins final smash etc

One thing I think that they should do that you didn't mention, is that I think they need to revamp the old fighters and make them feel more innovative. Characters such as Mario, Young Link, and Ganondorf

I feel like ultimate is in a similar position to Mario kart 8 deluxe. If they made a new game from scratch it would be much worse especially with Sakurai retired. I think a new team/director could easily handle a deluxe version with balance updates, new fighters (maybe 2 more passes) and maybe even a new mode or two. While smash’s roster is already absurdly big there are always going to be more wanted characters so there isn’t a reason to stop but also no need to start again from scratch (wrote this before the intro said pretty much the same thing lol)
After watching this video, I hope that Nathaniel Bandy is NEVER put in charge of the Smash Bros series.
youre honestly really talented at coming up with new ideas for this type of thing.
I think what they next smash game could do is completely reboot the franchise, bring back a handful of characters, most with revamped movesets, and then focus on new things, while it would take longer to develop, I feel it would be an appropriate step after bringing back literally everything, I absolutely wouldn't mind an ultimate deluxe though!
Man, I hope we get Geno. He definitely would be awesome as well getting both Crash and Master Chief since it would be epic to finally have the 90’s mascot boys together 😅

Crash was the PlayStation mascot back when PS1 came out. Even though Sony never owned him, he definitely was a big influence for selling PlayStation when I grew up during the 90’s.
Messed up my comment with Master Chief part there since he came out in 2001. Which he definitely deserves to be in since it would be epic to see the original mascot characters of each console from that time period in Smash Bros.

If I had to make a Smash Deluxe I would add no new characters, nor Echo's figthers and just make a Subspace Emmisary. Theres almost 90 characters and none of the interact with each other, not including fights. I think the only thing lacking in the biggest crossover of the history, its just proper interactions

I would actually like an ultimate port for the simple fact that it could give them the opportunity to make substantial improvements to the formula in an actual sequel (I can’t be the only one whose dying to see how these crazy match ups would play out in a fully 3D environment)
In my opinion, Smash Ultimate has a quantity vs quality issue. Yes, it has a lot of stuff but that doesn’t mean that adding more stuff on top would make it better. Plus we’ve been down this road before. When Ultimate got teased, we thought it was gonna be a port of Smash 4. There are better ways to improve Smash than just making Ultimate bigger. Shrinking the character roster would allow for better additions than the clones and would mean better balance. It would also mean better movesets for existing characters. Shrinking the stage list would mean better, more creative stages could be made. Last but not least, Smash could be improved mechanically. The buffer system, multi hit moves, basic and advanced movement, ledge mechanics, recovery, etc could all be tweaked or improved for the better. Smash doesn’t need to be as slow as it has been since Brawl. There’s a reason why most other platform fighters play closer to Melee than modern Smash and I think the series should move in that direction.
I may be biased but I feel if Ultimate Deluxe does happen I think you HAVE to add Bandana Dee especially considering he is the most requested first party character (at least from fan polls) and second most requested character only 2nd to Crash
He also would finally finish the dreamland quartet and considering Kirby hasn’t had a new character since brawl I think they need one, and you know if HAL gets to pick who it’d be they pick Bandana Dee

Sakurai once said that a new smash bros game will not be released until a new nintendo console will be released.

I think Switch U (that’s what i’m calling it) cartridge slots will be backwards compatible with Switch cartridges, hopefully both sharing the same menu and everything. I think they’ll just make DLC with new stages, characters, and features, since the game would already be playable on the Switch U.
I think that they won’t move onto the switch U until Pokémon scarlet and violet dlc is done, possible tears of the kingdom dlc is done, SMB wonder + possible dlc is done, and MK8D Wave 6 releases concluding the game

in general, with a smaller amount oif newcomers like this, it'd make more sense for them to go to primarily newer first-party titles, with maybe a single third party one.
(I mean, the only new third party franchise in the base game was Castlevania).

9:50 I think one of the reasons they ditched trophies was precisely because of the descriptions. You'd have to write 1,500 of them in at least 14 different languages. Since they're mere descriptions used as side-content (as opposed to, say, the dialogue for an RPG's storyline), I'm pretty sure any producer or publisher would question investing in something like that.
They needed to make models for all of them too
7:28 I think they could do something similar to the spirit tracks stage where if a variation of Link is playing the conductor gets replaced so when Ridley is playing, "Stage Ridley" could get replaced by another Metroid boss!

Honesly pretty good. while I would like a full on Smash reboot (cut the characetrs (RIP Piranha Plant), introduce new mechanics, focus on the First Party franchises), I wouldn't mind a rerelease of smash Ultimate with new content (as long as I get Red from Angry Birds).
If they do port I just hope they update the mechanics and add wavedashing. Like come it’s so close to being implemented.

Bandy, I love that you want Zero in the game, and you even showed his Zero series version specifically which is my preferred of his two forms. But he would absolutely NOT be an echo. His combat revolves around the Z-Saber, not projectiles. He has to be a separate fighter with unique references to his games in his moveset, like the Shield Boomerang as a special move or the Chain Rod being a ranged grab.
Personally, I just want a new Smash Bros. Dial back on the absurd amount of fighters and stages so more focus can be put on the side content. We need a new platforming adventure in the style of Subspace, we need an expanded Smash Run, and we definitely need a better Stage Builder that’s easier to navigate. I suggest combining the straightforward style of Brawl’s with the easier to understand Wii U interface. You could build stages with either system or even combine both into something entirely new. Also, custom target test and board the platforms stages. I also think Special Orders should be brought back, it was a nice way to challenge yourself and unlock stuff, and Crazy Orders was addicting as heck.
As for new fighters, Zero has always been at the top of my list.
Next, Waluigi. His Time Has Come.
Third, Crash Bandicoot, with Coco as his echo fighter.
We definitely need a new fighter from Sonic’s series too. Shadow, Tails, Eggman, Knuckles, any of them would be awesome additions and I am very disappointed in Sega for not giving any of them the chance to be a fighter.
It’s hard to go wrong with a Pokémon fighter, and for my pick I’m choosing Meowscarada. Not only would it be great to finally have another Grass-type, Meowscarada would be a really unique fighter thanks to the magician theme.
Lastly, I think it’s only right to have an indie fighter. Indies are an important part of the gaming industry, after all. As for who it could be, I’m not sure. I think Shovel Knight and Shantae are the most likely choices (though Shantae would probably need a redesign from WayForward since her outfit is a tad revealing). But the one I would love to see the most is the crazed Italian chef, Peppino Spaghetti!
I hope there is a boss battle mode which include Dr. Eggman and Dr. Wily as new bosses.

I *highly* doubt anything in this video would happen. It would be a licensing disaster. Sakurai himself said Ultimate is the only time this will happen, he even stepped down from Smash Bros. so the next game won’t even involve him. The next game will likely be a reboot.

1:34 Actually, the reason Crash didn’t get into Smash is because they decided the DLC before he got popular again from the N Sane Trilogy, and Sora was added in LAST minute because he was the Number 1 Highly Requested character.
Taking into consideration the scope of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, I'd be down with an enhanced port of it on the next console.
Just add in a few extra fighters, Smash Run HD, and descriptions for Spirits, and I'm a happy camper.

The big thing about a Smash Ultimate port on the console right after the Switch is that I don't really see that being as big a system seller as Smash Bros should be. Like the reason a bunch of Wii U games got ported to Switch is because the Switch sold while the Wii U didn't. Smash still sells a bunch of copies of course, but chances are people who already bought Ultimate might not be interested in buying the new products. Also straight up, Zero is not at all a good fit for a Mega Man Echo. Quite the apples to oranges comparison. It'd be like making Wario an Echo of Mario, like you just don't do that
If we truly consider this to be on the same situation that Mario Kart 8 is in, That means a dlc adding more stages and characters. I don't have Ideas for stages but I do have Ideas for Characters,
1: More Sonic characters, Tails, Knuckles, Amy, Eggman, etc.
2: Dr. Luigi and Paper Mario.
3:Impa
Only thing I think you missed is adding an “arcade mode”, aka having a mode more like the older classic modes as I think they are something we should have as it’s an easy way to just play a few matches if your bored and don’t wanna think about going online or creating a whole match.

I got a fun naming idea for this. In Japan ultimate is Super Smash Bros. Special. So here we get Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Special Edition and in Japan Super Smash Bros. Special Ultimate Edition.

Something fun ive noticed is since the 4th generation of pokemon, each nintendo console has had 2 new generations of pokemon.
DS: 4th, 5th
3DS: 6th, 7th
Switch: 8th, 9th
If they continue this, we should get the next nintendo console soon.
If and when they do make the next one, I hope they bring back some of the fun the 3ds had. There was a pretty good amount of stuff to do even if you didnt have any games bought, for example: The themes, the drawing, the camera, face raiders, and more stuff like that, like game demos. The switch was BORING on the homescreen. It doesnt even have any special themes like the 3ds did. So I really hope they bring back these cool features.
We need another Kirby rep. Either Marx, Magolor, or Bandana Dee. And yeah Marx is already in the game, but I know Sakurai wouldn't mind adding in another character from a Kirby game he's made.
6:20 to be fair on pac maze, im pretty sure the main reason it wasn't included in smash ultimate was cuz of the gimmick
the power pellet idea is cool but it only really works for the 3ds game, since afaik the ghosts do not turn blue for you if you weren't the one who grabbed the power pellet. that only applies to the person who DID get the power pellet, so if you're playing smash bros on the same screen, instead of using separate screens for each player, that would get extremely confusing really quick, so i can see why they didn't include pac maze
