Mr Carlos Santana is a legend . He can do some awesome things with that guitar , an artist for sure. Makes you feel it when he plays . And Everlast... ya'll already know this was going to be an epic collaboration!!
This is my favorite off santanas albums, close second is just feel better with Steven Tyler but I actually love the Santana/everlast collab on everlasts eat at whiteys album best, it’s called Babylon feeling
The song is about hope and resilience. It's about finding the light in the darkness. The phrase 'put your lights on' can mean a lot of things. It can mean literally turning on your headlights, but it can also mean metaphorically turning on your inner light. It's about finding the strength to keep going, even when things are tough. After all, there is nothing spiritual about hiding your light so that others are not intimidated by your brilliance. Our light casts across darkness, and gives others permission to shine all the brighter.
Every human being has the potential for good and evil depending on their decision making. If you read up on the human aura, you will understand what Santana knows from years of meditation that we all have energy in and around us that can literally glow in colors or look dark. "put your lights on" means when we are the best of ourselves, we literally shine. Love you two💞😇
Love this! Everlast was lead act when Santana Supernatural Tour came into Phoenix, Arizona. And of course this singer returned to the stage during Santana's set. Absolute fire! The extended solo Carlos threw down that evening shook the arena!
*Everlast - "What it's like" and "White Trash Beautiful". You can't go wrong going old school and listening to 'House of Pain' (Everlast singing) with "Jump Around". Everyone knows that song but don't know who sings it until they hear it.Then they're like whaaaaat?? OMG!* 🔥🔥🔥
My dad sat next to Santana and his lovely drummer wife on a plane in the 80s. Said they’re the nicest two people he’s ever met. Down to earth and happy to chat to anyone
Saw Earth Wind & Fire and Santana last night in Tampa. Carlos did this song as one of his on core songs. Hadn’t been on list of his concerts this year! Love this song.
Great comments guys! Santana has done so many collaborations and his guitar just takes them all to another level. First got introduced to him in the early 70's and have loved his music ever since!
A great song written by Everlast or Erik Schrody who said this song means Watch Out.Carlos and Everlast did great with this one. Thanks for doing this one!
I just saw Santana Saturday Night. They are touring with Earth Wind and Fire. It was a party, they all took us to church and I had a flood of really good childhood memories and young adult memories. Both Earth wind and fire in Santana were stellar!😎
My interpretation of the song is to Put your lights on for other who are in a dark place. Everlast has a very unique voice & he is probably most well know for Jump Around with House of Pain. You should definitely check out Everlast "I Get By" I feel like the lyrics to that song resonate with the lower & middle class.
Everlast had a heart defect and almost died. He said the monsters are the struggle of good and evil. The angel was the nurse when he came back from the dead. Carlos called him up and asked if he had any songs, he told Carlos about this
Everlast on the lyrics: "Put Your Lights On was probably one of the most personal songs I wrote. It was written right after I had a major heart surgery, came really close to dying and was just coming out of that whole state of mind of realizing that I was gonna live. That's where the whole "Put Your Lights on" thing comes in. It's just kind of about hope, but coming from a really dark place. and really questioning a lot of your beliefs. It came straight from the soul. It's really deep to me."
This is actually my favorite off this album. They have another really good one together called Babylon feeling off everlasts album. It’s amazing too! I’ve always said they should do a whole album together cause their sounds just mesh so well.
They did another song together. Babylon Feeling. Other great Everlast songs are Letters Home From The Garden Of Stone and Stone In My Hand. He was also a part of La Coka Nostra. Check out Gun In Your Mouth. Known from the movie The Town
This song from "Supernatural" introduced me to "Everlast" and I became a fan as a result. Carlos Santana had a monster smash with "Supernatural" and this song was one of my favorites. The guitar work was simple yet expressive.
The actual lyrics to the last verse are: She says, "La ilaha illa Allah You all shine like stars La ilaha illa Allah You all shine like stars And we fade away"
You want some great Santana ? Live at Woodstock " Soul Sacrifice " long version . " Live At The Filmore 68-69- " Chunk A Funk - Fried Neckbones And Home Fries - Conquistadore Rides Again - As The Years Go Passing By " 👌🎸
Many people do not know that Everlast had an encounter in the afterlife, died and returned from Death. He himself told it in an interview before singing that beautiful song. listen well to the words of this song
Carlos Santana is excellent. There is an album called The ultimate Santana which includes all his hit songs from his early days and everything off of Supernatural, an album of his from 20 years ago.
But this is a great song, cool voice, a Carlos's quitar did what he does and what the song required, a darker, a torn sound with slights of lights, like stars that shine and then fade away ❤
Remember the song " This little light of mine, I'm gonna let it shine" just me but I think it's asking us all to let that inner light shine, notice he say children keep your light on innocent
As I see, it's about being aware that all people have light and darkness within us, that is why we must keep the light and try to shine like stars, even if darkness speaks in our ears.
I think the monster is the devil whispering in your ear . On some of his newer albums Santana has been kind of religious his wife is also in the band . This song was great thanks y'all =)
He is the singer from house of Pain who sang Jump, Jump. I'm pretty sure he almost died and has a huge scar on his chest. You should hear What it's like.
BJ really captured the essence of the song the way I see it. We are surrounded by darkness and monsters trying to capture our attention. Turn your lights on and make the scary things run...
At the end he actually sings La ilaha il Allah (There is no god but god). He wrote this song after surgery following a heart attack. Leave your lights on is about holding on to hope.
Listen to Winning by Carlos Santana and eye Grammy award inning number one song by him and Matchbox Twenty lead singer Rob Thomas and it is called Smooth.
I'm simply amazed at Carlos' staying power over 50 freaking years and the guys still got it? WT Hell? Rock on BROTHER! He's such a gift.
I mean this songs like 20 years old but respect
I'm not amazed talent never dies!
I'm not amazed talent never dies!
Aww Santana❤️ anytime for me!!!🎸🎸🎸 this takes me back... this song yep
Mr Carlos Santana is a legend . He can do some awesome things with that guitar , an artist for sure. Makes you feel it when he plays . And Everlast... ya'll already know this was going to be an epic collaboration!!
One of my fave Santana tracks! dbl ♥
This is my favorite collaboration that Santana did. I think BJ is right, about shining a light in the darkness, in your soul and the world.
This is a great one but I think I like Santana and Rob Thomas (Smooth) collab the best.
I agree.
Don’t forget Carlos Santana featuring Michelle Branch🎸🙀
@@MrRandyv also very good!
This is my favorite off santanas albums, close second is just feel better with Steven Tyler but I actually love the Santana/everlast collab on everlasts eat at whiteys album best, it’s called Babylon feeling
Always loved the great bluesy guitar play of Santana.
Rock on!

That’s a wonderful way to put it 🌞
Santana is so good all by himself, I like your honesty Asia❤️
Love this! Everlast was lead act when Santana Supernatural Tour came into Phoenix, Arizona. And of course this singer returned to the stage during Santana's set. Absolute fire! The extended solo Carlos threw down that evening shook the arena!
I love BJs take on the music. He always seems to try and find what the lyrics mean, and tends to get to the root. He gets it.
*Everlast - "What it's like" and "White Trash Beautiful". You can't go wrong going old school and listening to 'House of Pain' (Everlast singing) with "Jump Around". Everyone knows that song but don't know who sings it until they hear it.Then they're like whaaaaat?? OMG!* 🔥🔥🔥
If we talking old school Everlast listen to The Rhythm for some late 80's Everlast
Ends was another great one. Plus I get what Asia is saying but if you were into Santana or Everlast then this song was great. I love the CD
My dad sat next to Santana and his lovely drummer wife on a plane in the 80s. Said they’re the nicest two people he’s ever met. Down to earth and happy to chat to anyone
She’s so good!
@@brynneholt1990 out of control drummer! First saw her on a Lenny Kravitz vid when I was young and fell in love!
Man, I Still LOVE Everlast!
I 100% agreed with your observations of the song and the interpretation of the lyrics.
What an incredibly beautiful guitarist never disappoints after all these years.
Saw Earth Wind & Fire and Santana last night in Tampa. Carlos did this song as one of his on core songs. Hadn’t been on list of his concerts this year! Love this song.
Saw them Wednesday in Atlanta!
Santana is a god! Feel so blessed to have gotten to see him live a few times. So glad he’s recovered from his scare this summer!
Great comments guys! Santana has done so many collaborations and his guitar just takes them all to another level. First got introduced to him in the early 70's and have loved his music ever since!

Younger Brother Of Carlos Santana,, Jorge Santana's Group & A MUST HEAR Beautiful Classic,, Malo "Suavecito"
TRUST ME On This One..R.I.P. Jorge🙏❤
I saw Carlos Santana in the '90s and on stage they had five band members with 22 percussion instruments laid out ready to use during the song. 😎 ☝️🙏
I caught his show in Phoenix in 2000, it was beyond phenomenal.
The singer for Everlast was in the band House Of Pain and there big song was “Jump Around “ !!!
Evil hates the light. I believe the song is about standing strong in your own faith.
Everlast on the lyrics: "Put Your Lights On was probably one of the most personal songs I wrote. That sound that Carlos gets is so unique
Everlast wrote this song while recovering in the hospital from a massive heart attack.

BJ nailed it! Loved your reactions on this one! As always
Thanks again!
*Santana - Oye Cómo Va (Audio)*
Clapton & Santana have a live album out that came out in the 70's.
Everlast has a lot of cool black and white acoustic performance of his hits. They look like they were performed at his house.
Everlast said in an interview that he was in a state of reflection when he wrote this song cause he recently had heart surgery (at the time)
Santana KILLS this all song!!!
When Digging Deep Enough,, You Can Find True Hidden Treasures,, World Party "All Come True" & "Ship Of Fools"..(BOTH Official Music Videos)

Everlast ~ "TODAY" (watch me shine)
Carlos tossing off a kick ass solo.
This song always made me think of a killer preparing to go out and kill again.
Great tune
Santana sought Everlast out, and I think the song won a grammy.
Great reaction!
Asia and Bj you have got check out Soul Sacrifice, Santana, Woodstock. It’s got Everything. 🤘😎🎸💀✊
There is nothing to fear if you shine that positive light on the negative darkness... only my opinion, thanks for he vid :)
anyone remember "Everlast- 'The Stone In My Hand' ?
This entire album is reference quality listening.. try it on a really good wide dynamic system.. close your eyes... and enjoy..
you should listen to Europa (earths cry heavens smile) by Santana the studio version is amazingly beautiful song.
Asia be like ," ain't no way there be a monster under my bed" Bahahaaa

Love this song Everlast was leader of the House of Pain ( Jump Around )

You really need to see the video with Carlos playing 🎸🎶
Santana can make a good song great.

EVERYBODY'S EVERYTHING by Santana. You can't sit still. A rocker.
Absolutely 👍❤️
Plus the ending of the song is the Muslim prayer
At the end he actually sings La ilaha il Allah (There is no god but god). He wrote this song after surgery following a heart attack. Leave your lights on is about holding on to hope.
Don't let the darkness take over, put your lights on
