If you have any closet decluttering tips that helped you get unstuck, share them here 😊👇🏼 And if you want to know how I personally decluttered my closet, watch this step-by-step guide next: ruclips.net/video/FYLR1_XlmGg/видео.html ❤
My two very useful questions are :
1. If I hadn't this item, would I buy it?
2. If I could have all my money back, would I resell this item?
Sincere answers to this questions make me understand if keep or declutter. Bye!
Thanks for sharing! 😊
Ohhhh… that second question is great! Though I’d end up with nothing real quick. 😂
A lot of my clothes say "lose weight, lose weight, lose weight."
Oh, I totally get that, it can be so depressing when that happens, but if you haven't watch my video on weight fluctuations and what to do in situations like this, I will link it here: ruclips.net/video/uFhuonjEF5k/видео.html Hopefully it can help you just a little ❤️
I agree with the approach for the Maybe pile. it helps to just wear the item and see how it feels at the end of the day. It becomes much clearer to understand if it's worth keeping. I also started the "no pile analysis" tip you gave us in a prior video. It helps a lot to track why I let go of things and I am finally starting to not rebuy pieces with those elements. Such a practical, helpful tip! Really appreciate all of your content!!
Aw, I'm so so happy the no pile analysis is helping you as much as it helped me, that's why I'm making videos 🥰❤️
This is a great video. That fire example was a good one because we had a wildfire scare last year and thought we would have to evacuate. When you are packing a bag of stuff you want to save and deciding which stuff you are going to let burn, it really makes you think differently. I realized there were a few things I _would_ be relieved to be rid of.
"If you're holding onto items that you never wear, you're paying the mental price." Brilliant!
I have found it very helpful to have a limited space for my makeup and have stored all the extra items to review later. It was less painful than throwing them out right away. I am finding out what I really like and also once things have been stored for awhile they are easier to decluttering later. Thanks for the great tips!
Yesss, giving yourself a trial period can make decluttering so much easier, thanks for sharing! 🥰
As a woman a tip! Keep a set of the clothes that makes you look absolutly sick these you save to go to the doctor, no make-up or a little bit in a colour that makes you look awful now you are ready to go to the doctor and at least get a 1/3 of the care a man get. If possible bring a man who will tell the doctor you are sick .
Brilliant advice!
Especially if you suffer with severe cramps every single month and no doctor listens to you 😢
1/3 care of a man? I think this is a minimalist channel not feminist. Though I do think she wants you to feel great about yourself!
@@brittanylockwood3000 To feel great about yourself it’s essential to be able to take care of yourself that includes physical and mental health including getting the help you need - clothes are a part of that both to get energy and to show when it’s lacking.
So sad this is probably true
Yes! Analyzing is SO important. I just discovered it about a year ago, and it has helped me a lot to design a wardrobe, that I love. I noticed, that what i wear has to be both comfortable AND make me feel presentable. I had a lot of clothes that were either comfortable or "stylish", but my favorites check both of those boxes 🥰🥰
I agree, it's life-changing! 🥰 And yesss, there is always an overlap between style and comfort, we just have to find it. Thanks for sharing 😘
This is the best decluttering philosophy I’ve ever seen! I have watched so many videos like this and I still struggle and this one helped me so much! I love it!
Yay, I'm so glad! 🥰
Your approaches honestly remind me a lot of how Marie Kondo would go about decluttering her wardrobe! Tapping into that kind of emotional energy doesn't always come naturally, but I can appreciate the difference in perspective. Thanks for sharing! 😊
Aw, thank you!! ❤️
You wasted your money is what gets me the most. I got a livingroom closet online selling situation. I need to set deadlines for the items or get them to some second hand shops. The future question is really helpful!
Love your red top you're wearing.
I’m really struggling with decluttering. Over the years I lost about three sizes (XL to S/M) and have kept them off, but I still love my older clothes that are now enormous. I’ve taken in all I can three times now, so they don’t look or fit that great, they should have been properly taken apart, recut and remade, but it isn’t worth it. I now have an enormous wardrobe in multiple sizes, most of them huge. I’m confident now that I won’t gain that weight back, partly because I’m in my sixties, when things change.
kimberlyperrtis8 I lost weight this year and went from a XL to a S/M
just two weeks ago I donated all the clothes that were too big, and have been building up my new wardrobe, it was freeing, and my closet looks so beautiful, I also bought no fast fashion, just sustainable clothing it’s truly amazing how well made clothes look and feel, and wash. Congratulations on your weight loss, I know how good it feels to finally lose weight, and what fun shopping for S/M
Really good advice, especially the taking care of the item... I will be decluttering those items NOW because I do feel guilty about how much the item cost BUT the care ~ the ironing and the steaming. Yeah, I'm done with that! 💟 Thank you 💟
These are great questions to ask when decluttering. I’ve read many books and watched many videos on this subject and not come across these questions before. Great to have these new perspectives. Thanks!!
I'm glad you think so!! ❤️
You're wonderful, thank you
You are right.. they do speak to us.. we have to listen ❤
My items are mean to me:) Yep!
Great video ! I love it when you say that things talk to us.. 😍
It's the first time I've heard that and when I think I realise how true it is, amazing...❤🥰😘
Yesss, it's a really interesting perspective isn't it? 😊 I'm happy you enjoyed it ❤️
Great insight!!!!
Really good, thank you!
Hi Kim hope you had a good holiday! Been eagerly awaiting for you video ❤
Yes, I did, thanks for asking! 🥰 And I hope you enjoyed the new video ❤️
I love this video, it is so helpful. Thank you!
You're so welcome, I'm glad you enjoyed it! 🥰
Great advice and inspiration, I feel more motivated to finally let go of all those wrong-sized clothes. I’m saving this video to watch again! Thanks❤
I'm glad you found a little bit of inspiration, I know it's hard to let go sometimes, but if we feel life (or our closet 😉) will be better this way, we have to trust the process ❤️
I really love your videos! ❤ Your topics and ideas are always very creative, practical, relatable, and accessible. You get straight to the point and include great examples/explanations as well, and I like that I can typically just listen (your videos are visually great too but I have to spend a lot of time looking at screens for work so I really love channels with listenable videos!). ❤😊 Thank you for the great content! 🤗
Aw, thank you so much, this makes me so happy! 😊❤
Hey! Kim I really really addicted to your videos so so so much and my sister really loves your videos a lot you inspired me a lot and I wish you have a wonderful Friday☺️💫💖
Thank you so much!! 🥰 Have a lovely Friday too 🥰
My clothes are speaking to me! This is awesome, so true, and alot of fun. I have a few things that just said, hey I'm not really a good color on you. Thank you!
Uuu, this is really useful information, well done clothes, hehe 😉😍
Excellent video! Thanks!
Glad you liked it! 🥰
Really enjoyed this! I laughed out loud at the fire-burning-clothes imagery! Keep up the great work! Your personality really comes through your videos!
Haha, yes, it's definitely a fun visual 😂 And thanks for your lovely words! ❤️
The basement flooded a few years ago and I knew that some of the things that I had stored down there were going to be lost to me. So, I said to myself at the time, that if I found something that I didn't care if it had been lost in the flood then I would get rid of it. I still kind of do that today! :) Shannon A.
Thanks, for this very helpful ideas
Glad it was helpful! 😊
Great video and questions to ask yourself. You're beautiful btw.
Aw, you're so sweet, thank you! 🥰
Ur so right
Hehe, thank you 😉
I really struggle with de cluttering but I like using the feelings!
I love Your unique approach with questions .. 🤭 They draw a much cleaner picture about my wardrobe. 👀
I'm so glad! 🥰
Great advices, I do have one question 🙋🏻♀️ there’s clothes I obsoletely will not wear again and I want them off. However they’re special to me as they where with me in special occasions. I try to wake them as they’re good quality, but not that much luck. I’m just afraid to put them in the donation center and they putting them on the trash as I know lots of places are getting so much cloths that they just immediately trash.
I’m very sentimental 😭 and the idea of those special cloths in the landfill really hurts me. How you show loved to an item that you love, but no longer need? I’ll give them away to friends and family members, but no one will fit on them either. I wish there was an internet application where people get free cloths.
I love the idea of listening to the clothes! I've just tried, and it actually sounds like a good method. Just a question: have I killed the items that don't say anything? 😅
Yesss, it's so fascinating 😊 And for me things that don't say anything are usually the things that are happy the way they are, so maybe that is the case for you too 🙈
Signed up first time June 2 ,2024😊👍
I will move 11th times in 2 years. I decluttered alot. (Yes, today too while I was packing). I am curious about your tips tho ❤
Super useful as always. Have decluttered already 3 times and progressing little by little. What do you think of tailored pants the ones with pleats......i think they are very classy.....have you tried them..?
Thank you, and well done for decluttering so much already 💁♀️🥰 As for the pants, no I haven't really tried them on, but I agree they look very nice 😍
Lijep pozdrav iz Hrvatske ❤
Hvala! ❤️
❤
That's a genius question: 'If I met a frenemy in this, would I be glad?' 😂
Haha, right? Works without fail 😂😂
Help me! 🙄🤗🥰
