- A romantic duet from the successful 1909 Lionel Monckton musical 'The Arcadians' Listening to the lyrics, it appears this couple would have more to say to each other if alone, so they keep it very British & discuss the weather!

The Arcadians is one of my favourite musicals from the Edwardian era. So many great melodies.
Did you get to see the musical? Wish I could, but will post other recordings, should I find them. The flip (will post later) is 'The Girl With The Brogue' (Irish accent not the shoe!) by Ada Jones.
@@tiga4180 I have only seen amateur productions of it. I have a very good late 1960's LP recording on the MFP label of highlights with Cynthia Glover, John Lawrenson & Robert Bowman. Love your comment RE the girl with a Brogue.😄
In Denmark we also always discuss the weather !!!!!! Thank you for a very nice song !!!!!!!!🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
So sweet & so British, or should I say European!!!! Wish it were possible to see the musical.
Great duet Paul talking about the weather brilliant 👍🎷🎶
Glad you enjoyed my friend!
Here in the States these past months there is a lot of strange weather to discuss.
Great record my friend xx
Same here! Hope it soon turns out as per the song.
Incredibly evocative and such fine condition. You really acquired some good stuff. Lucky bastid. Who said that?
'Bar steward' please 🙂
@@tiga4180 I don't get it. ??
@@AnnieVanAuken Bar steward is just a nicer way of saying the 'B' word. A co worker of mine used to say: "He's a proper 'bar steward" when he dealt with a difficult customer.
@@tiga4180 Ahhh OK....Lucky Bar Steward! ;?D
