"Nebulus cemented in my mind the importance of delivering titles which made players think, 'Wow, I've never seen anything like that before!' I remember Julian Rignall strolling up to our stand at an exhibition and picking up the joystick for Nebulus. As he nudged it, the tower rotated, and he immediately leaned forward, wide-eyed, fixated on the screen. I smiled to myself and thought, 'Sold'!" -- Andrew Hewson, founder of Hewson Consultants [Publisher of Nebulus - C64]
I'm crying. I'm crying with emotion, so many beautiful memories associated with this game, how many hours my dad and I played, we laughed and cried when we didn't succeed. Those were the good times of the Commodore 64. The only problem was loading the game from a cassette, because you had to adjust the heads in the tape recorder, and even that didn't always help. Oh, beautiful memories.
It's great on all formats, I can complete it without losing a single life :-) You may like this ;-) ruclips.net/video/abj5_JYpUUs/видео.html It's the second game in the video.
One of my favourite titles of the 8bit era.. I wish i knew more of the back story of this game, always wondered if the author (John Phillips ) designed this as a game or did the game grow out of out a tech demo effect. Either way it's the very definition innovating within your hardware limits.
Had this on the Amstrad CPC growing up! Amazing game even today, very unforgiving though. I completed the 2nd tower maybe once only. Zipping up each tower at the end: very satisfying!
I completed the ZX version without losing a single life (on my channel), I can now complete all versions without losing a life, I'm quite proud of that :_) You may like my Nenulus 2 Amiga longplay;-)
I just love the games on the C64. This was one of my favorites along with Blue Max, Bards Tale III, Space Taxi, H:E:R:O, Fort Apocalypse, Pirates. Graphics is not everything and still many games from the 8 bits have far better gameplay than games now days.
+Dr Ivo Robotnik Thank you, I hope you find many things to enjoy on this channel including longplays, let's plays, which is best vids and the popular "shit game time" vids :-D
Ahead of its time.... Most mobile game programmers and designers couldn't even come close, and these new ones are using more powerful technology!! Doesn't make sense.
You using emulator?! If so you'll need to set your controller in the menu of the emulator somehow, if using real hardware then just press fire button in controller port 1 or 2.
Agreed, I comleted this and the spectrum versions without losing a life and the reward?!,...that ending :-( I also completed Impossaball on the spectrum which is a rock hard ball bouncing game and all I get in return is the game loops over, no pic, no text, nothing, that was the deal back in the 80's,...poor endings,.

It's the second game in the video.
Talk about a game ahead of its time ! The only time I saw rotating tower was in the 16 bit era
Mickey Mania (Sega CD) had a level which is kind of a homage of Nebulus :)
Thank you for letting the intro screen music play all the way, I always appreciate such gestures from let's plays! Sending good vibes!
Technical masterpiece
Finally beat this game on my Evercade console. This video helped me a lot as a reference. Thank you for uploading the full gameplay of this game :).

I HOPE YOU ENJOY THIS VIDEO ENOUGH TO SUBSCRIBE :-D
THANKS FOR WATCHING!
Never managed to finish it, but always loved graphics :) Great video as always

Thanks mate, I prefere my Amiga longplays of Neb 1 & 2 though :-)

@@ZEUSDAZ wow neat! And I didn't know there was a sequel.
Atm I'm learning Tower Toppler for the 7800.
Very rewarding game!
back at it again with the NOSTALGIA
One of my favorite childhood games!
@volunteerz526😂😂😂
The sounds are the best on C64 and the graphics are also nice. One of the best game on C64. Still playable today!
gracias por recordarme esas epocas geniales de la vida simple, una commodore y un tv, esa era la felicidad x1000
Agreed!
Nebulus !! the best game in 2021 !! Thank you, I'm having fun on it:!
It's a great game but very frustrating too!
Been playing this on Atari 7800 lately. Great game! Frustrating at times when learning the towers, but worth sticking with.
'Yeah you did it - now enter your initials, and fuck off' - ahh those were the days
This was a single load game, those 64 kbits must have been already full to the point of saturation for a proper ending sequence to be added.

What is the main creature? A pangolin?
Still looking good for an 8 bit game.
I would love to see a remastered version of this game
Well there's Nebulus 2 on the Amiga,...on my channel
@ZEUSDAZ
Nebulus 2 is hard as nails. And people say Nebulus 1 is difficult !!!
Oh wow! So, this is the game that inspired the tower scene in Battletoads, Mickey Mania and Tiny Barbarian.
Ghouls n ghosts
Beautiful looking game.
The C64 Nebulus title music has a lot in common with Tears For Fears' "Broken" - just a coincidence of course...
I got this, albeit the American release (and so named “Tower Toppler”), on TheC64. I can get to The Slippery Slide (Stage/Tower 4).
No ending ?!? That's a shame. But you did a good job, way to go.
+Kamilz
Cheers bud, but as far as a decent endings goes I'm quite used to naff ones,...it was the 80's speciallity :-(
This game looks better on the C64 than on the Amiga. More colors is not always better ;)
Nostalgia!
I have it on game joystick with speedball and got through all the towers eventually, but sh*t was hard
I've done a few no life loss runs but yep stressful
@@ZEUSDAZ me too, but it took me at least a month to get through and learn. As a kid I preferred Barbarians though 😉
I love this game. tnx
Subscribed :D

how to press a button to play a game?
music plays, but how to play?

@@ZEUSDAZ
I am using an emulator.
and don’t know how to configure it.
ruclips.net/video/dkt-p1-pENA/видео.html - It DOESN"T WORK for PC version. Elevator don't raise the second level, so game cannot be passed.
👍
such a hard game with a terrible ending..
Agreed, I comleted this and the spectrum versions without losing a life and the reward?!,...that ending :-(

@@ZEUSDAZ you did well i remember playing this as a kid it was so hard never made level 3
The time is not running after the 3rd tower. This is soooo lame :)
