    Just took my DD5V4 home. V4 has an 18 inch barrel instead, otherwise, it’s the same as the V3. This is my third DD! I already have the DD MK12 and the DDM4V9. Can’t wait to try it out at the range.

      The DD5 V4 has a rifle length gas system and the DD5 V3, V2, and V1 have a mid length gas system.

    The "legend" you mentioned is actually true- Carlos Hathcock, American sniper in Vietnam, shot an enemy through the scope because he saw the glint. Look him up! (He also got a 2500 yard kill with a machine gun)

    Nice rifle. But, correct me if I'm wrong, not all AR-10's are restricted. In the description, it says it's an AR-15 variant. But if I have my facts straight, if it's based off the original AR-10 platform, it should be non-restricted unless the RCMP say so for whatever reason.

    • @armandgun
      @armandgun  5 лет назад

      YoungCanadianHybrid it’s an AR10, but as far as the lab is concerned, it literally comes down to what the company markets it as. That’s why the stag 10 is nr, yet the sr25 and lmt mws are restricted while they all share similar receiver dimensions. The Hk 417 should also be exempt, but because Hk markets it as being a scaled up 416, which is an Ar15, they stamp it with the same rubber stamp. With a 16” barrel this is also restricted anyways. It is frustrating though. I can definitely appreciate where you’re coming from.

    does the DD5V3 need a break-in? And can I run alot of rounds in one range session as I got like 200 rounds of Federal GMM in 175 grn. Will it handle a mag-dump?

    Hey all, total noob here buying my first rifle (shot a few, never at anything moving). I'd just like to say that reading comments like these while doing 7 consecutive days of online research just makes a person want to play golf instead. I know I want an AR-10, and NO I don't have the slightest clue what makes an AR-10 vs an AR-15, I just think the 10 sounds cooler. I know I want an 18"-20" barrel as it will be prop'ing up a shelf at home for most of its life. id like to pick the caliber with the most readily available bullets because I HATE going to the store honestly dealing with Los Angeles traffic is subconsciously why I've purchased the guns I DO own. I would prefer less expensive ammo, but still with great accuracy, and ammo that won't get me made fun of shooting at a range when I pull up for the first time in my mall crawler. I'm 6'3 210lbs (20 of that in Taco Bell chalupas) so I can handle the recoil and weight... that being said is the 308 really for me? or am I better off jumping on the 6.5 train so my LA neighbors can stay sharp when they break in and steal my loaded unlocked gun..Anywho In all my online research I was actually sorta leaning toward the DD5 V5 .260REM with an ACOG 4x or 6x and some sorta cute Eotech HOLO gadget so my girlfriend thinks I make good money....Would really appreciate your thoughts though for real. need help understanding all this.

    • @peter65021
      @peter65021 4 года назад

      Ar 10 denotes 7.62 (.308), ar 15 denotes 5.56 (.223). 6.5 creed is slightly better than .308 in accuracy and home reloading, but more expensive. 5.56 is the cheapest of all though. My advice, go for a 308 AR10 to start, then get yourself a lighter, smallsr AR15 or 5.56 bullpup in the future. That's what I plan on doing myself once I get the money

  • @SVTBansheeman
    @SVTBansheeman 5 лет назад +1

    Lots of excuses why the gun failed with ammo, mags etc. For the price it cost, it should run it all.

    • @armandgun
      @armandgun  5 лет назад +1

      SVTBansheeman not necessarily. It has a match chamber for accuracy, so you’re going to get pickier aspects. Also I had fine success with it in prior runs. Lastly some mags worked fine where identical mags did not run. In those cases I would chalk it up to mags.

    • @rocketman3776
      @rocketman3776 4 года назад +1

      SVTBansheeman y’all that to the United States Military when they tried to force Soldiers to use crappy metal magazines that constantly jammed up in our Colt M-4 Carbines.... we all took 30 P-Mags from Magpul each just so we could fight THEIR war (Obama Admin SUCKED!)
      So trust Arm&Gun and me when I say that NOT ALL MAGS ARE EQUAL. Just like not all ammo is equal. Unless your rifle is a Browning Bar BOSS, you will have to do just like anyone else and buy multiple brands and types of ammo to see what works most accurate for your rifle (not all barrels are identical, they all wiggle (the barrel) differently when the round is firing through the barrel. The same with a magazine, not all fit the same and when they don’t fit, you has misfires, jams and no feeds. Many reasons why most AR’s come with a “Forward Bolt Assist”.
      My professional opinion, why but something else that might cost you meat on the table or a competition won? Daniel Defense for so many reasons

  • @etizzle915
    @etizzle915 5 лет назад

    Is it a small frame 308 lower? Like how pof crammed a ar15 mag into a lower with the same external dimensions as a standard ar15 lower.

    • @rocketman3776
      @rocketman3776 4 года назад +1

      ETphon3hom3 it is designed to be a smaller frame like an AR-15. And BEST OF ALL... it shoots like an AR-15, hardly any recoil with Daniel Defense compared to other high precision AR-10’s like Aero Precision.
      This Rifle was built to be a 3 Gun rifle so that means:
      SMALLER FOR MANEUVERABILITY
      LIGHTER WEIGHT
      WAY LESS RECOIL
      FOLLOW UP PRECISION
      LONG RANGE PRECISION
      ALMOST ZERO MALFUNCTIONS EVER
      BUILT WITH HIGH GRADE MATERIALS AND PARTS
      You definitely get what you pay for and speaking from experience, I will never spend less than $2000 on a high caliber rifle. My current hunting rifle is a Browning x-bolt Hell’s Canyon McMillian LR Ambush 300 WM. It’s a $2400 rifle that will sub-MOA at 1000+ yards. I will be running a Mark 5 or 6 from Leupold here soon (VX-3i LRP currently) to unlock its full potential in certain hunts.
      Seriously looking at a Daniel Defense V5 6.5 Creedmore for all my Hog, Deer, Antelope & Onyx and possibly Big Horn Sheep hunting in the future. My 30-30 finally ran its course and is no longer accurate and max effective range SUCKS... so yeah.

    • @holdernewtshesrearin5471
      @holdernewtshesrearin5471 4 года назад

      No. The DD5 is a standard AR-10 sized rifle. The receivers are no different in size than any other AR-10 although it’s much sleeker styled
      The 16” barrel and the small diameter handguard makes it more compact overall and similar in size to an AR-15.
      Most AR-10s are 18” barreled or longer.
