Good morning. Excellent comparison as ever. My vote goes to: 1- Saucony ride 17. 2- Asics novablast 4. 3- Puma velocity nitro 3. Like to EDDBUD. Have a great day.
Love what Puma is doing, just seems to work so well for me. Especially running in Norway, outsole works well on snow, rain, dirt etc which is super common on most roads here.
I'm loving my Rebel V4s. No issue with the fit or feel. Are you sure NB didn't ship you a wide fit 😂 but hey Edd, that's why we come to your channel. Love your unbiased opinions, mate. Keep grinding.
Any info on whether Reebok is launching a new Floatride Energy or discontinuing it? It seems to have been mostly absence from their website for several months which is weird ahead of the Spring/Summer season?!
Rebel v4 is pretty fantastic. Did a 8 mile run today and it disappears underfoot since it's so light. I have a narrow foot and it still fits great! Isn't the Novablast 4 even chonkier??
ASICS Superblast & Novablast 4 for me. I do like Puma Velocity Nitro 2 - great shoe and value. New Balance Rebel Fuelcell v4 is good but I think this is better for racing. Thankuchen!!!
Nice one Edd. Good words too at the end, regarding mental health 👍. I am tempted by the Puma Nitro Velocity 3, but I’ll spend some more time in the Puma Nitro Forever Runs, to see how they fare long term.
I've been disappointed with the Rebel V4, too. It doesn't work as an easy-day or all-out speed shoe. I weigh a little over 170#s, so maybe that's why the shoe feels flat and uninspiring.
Got the saucony Ride 17 recently and i really love it. It feels like it's built for my feet! The inside sculpture, the drop and the wide platform feel so great, I'm afraid that if they slightly change the model Will not feel this away again.
@@EDDBUD i see. For me the priorities are cushion while still having some responsiveness/minor firmness. As a 5”9 65kg runner what would be the pick between those two ons, the invincible 3(better if a four releases by july) and superblast(maybe if a 2 releases by july as well) not sure about the pros and cons as i also plan to use them as shoes for school
Hi Edd, another shoe i would recommend (i don't see you have reviewed it), which is a real banger of a stability shoe for a lot of people and can be their daily shoe, is Asics GT 2000 12 or 13!! A gem of a shoe! Another good one from Asics!
I'm almost always a gen behind. My most used daily shoes are Saucony Ride 16 Triumph 20 - over 200 miles in both. I prefer the Ride. Next is Hoka Mach 5, which is newer and has fewer miles, but would be my choice if I could only have one of these three.
My top 3 as of now is 1. NB Rebel v4, 2. adi Supernova Solution (I know it's a stability trainer, but still), 3. Puma Velocity Nitro 3. But if we considered On Cloudmonster Hyper as daily trainers and not supertrainers, then I'd put them just behind Rebels. Overpriced, but still a really good shoe :D
I don't think you've done a review, but I picked up the Hoka Mach 6 a couple of days ago. We talked before about how I hated the Rebel V4, I couldn't agree more that it feels like a negative drop and I was working way too hard to run in them, so I tried the Mach 6 instead and it quickly took over my favorite spot. It's not overly soft, has a good response, and the rocker is very smooth. If you pick up a pair, I hope you enjoy them as much as I have! They're my first Hokas and now I want to explore more of their line.
i don't know why but i just love the underfoot combo of puma. i find it super comfortable for my feet. currently have two pairs of velocity nitro 2 and planning to get the version 3
Will eventually get the Ride 17 once worn through all my 15s! Have just ordered some Saucony Axon 3, v interested to see what they are like. Want a slightly lower drop daily shoe.
I was tempted with the Velocity 3 but still have mileage left on Brooks Hyperion Max and much more mileage left on the Saucony End. Speed 3 (have only just finished with my second pair of the Speed 2s). But, given the mileage soon eats up these varied trotters, I also took a dive for the first time into Hoka territory and now own a pair of the discounted Mach 5s which are great.
@@EDDBUD Another great - and versatile (?) - non-plated shoe which has held its own price-wise when other options are available. Not for long, easy days though IMO, it likes to push you on...like I found out today on the treadmill!
I bought the Reebok Floatride Energy 5 for £39 a few months ago due to a huge discount they had for them on the Reebok website, absolutely bonkers cheap price for such a great trainer, I'm pretty interested in the Puma Velocity Nitro 3 though.
Had Pegasus 37 & 38 and they were good at what they did and I may be the only one who doesn't love the Puma shoes ! I was in the fortunate position of being able to buy the Asics Superblast and I'd recommend that one every day if you have the earth credits, closely followed by the On Cloud Eclipse.
I ordered the Pegasus 40 actually blind, because it was on sale for 50 Euros on the nike website. But I love it, it fits me so well, had no issues so far. It is a stable allrounder, protects your joints and is easy to ride.
I meant to try the version 3 but never got round to it and had mixed feelings due the 2 which was such a great shoe while it lasted... but died way too prematurely when the upper ripped. The 4 looks so alien to the 2, particularly...
Hands down the rebel is the best of them for me..the rebel has the cushioning to hold up without beating up my feet..the V3 and V2 rebels have always been my favorite daily shoe..I do prefer the older models, don't like any of the plastic type uppers, but V4 does everything I want for a daily shoe..maybe that's why I have about 10prs..😅

The bulk of my running over the past 4 years has been in versions 1-3 of the Velocity. Each one has been great. I've also bought the Hoka Mach 6 for the odd run (just to mix things up), but I'm waiting for my Achilles to settle down before I take them for a proper run. Based on how they feel on foot, I'm expecting to enjoy them a lot.
Hey Ed! Thanks for another great video. Got a recommendation request… doing more intervals on Wimbledon Common here, now the weather has improved. Light trail, firm uneven mud/grass. I keep rolling my ankles wearing anything with a stack. Do you know of anything reasonably punchy but stable? I have Steakflys but the shape of those is slightly unstable to me. Was thinking Saucony Peregrines if I must but they are just like flat bricks 😂😂
@@EDDBUD I've run over 770 km / 480 miles in the Peg 40 so far. Only recently I've started really thinking about getting new daily trainers. I'm thinking of the Vomero for the autumn/winter/early spring. The Nike's fit is just too perfect for my semi wide feet. I need space and slight comfort for easy and longer runs. Puma Velocity Nitro felt a bit too snug for me. Not ready for the max-max cushioned shoes though. I also need durability and some grip from the outsole.
Had the Floatrider 2,3,4 and have now upgraded to the velocity costing £70. For the extra twenty quid its a bit more stable in the wet. Given the extra bounce will also get more miles out of it to justify. Swapped after such a great review from Eddie, found the Floatrider from this wonderful channel. Keep up the great work! 😊👍

Great video as always I would appreciate your advice, I am a 5' 7"/170 casual runner who runs only with the Saucony Triumph 20 (they wear up) and I looking for my next new shoe. My easy run pace is 5:50/km or slower. Daily training pace is between 5:20 - 5:40/km for a 10k, And my last 10k race result was 50 minutes. My new goal is to run a 10k in 45 minutes and take a step towards running a half marathon by running 15k. So, I plan to add speed workouts to my routine (something I didn't do yet). I tried the Speed 3 and the Boston 12 and both of them felt good. Which of the two shoes would you recommend for my needs? Or, do you suggest something else? Also, what would be a good shoe rotation? Would it be reasonable to rotate between both of them? Thanks, a lot
Hi Edd, i am new to running and got the Nike Lunar Roam, can you suggest a good one, just want to be sure that i am choosing a right one for a good long start
I picked up a pair of Mizuno Wave sky rise 4 trainers for £39 from Sports Direct, good energy return and comfort for a jog or just walking about in, nice design and breathable 100% recommended 👍
Interesting how you and Ko have similar views on the Rebel, but Run Testers liked it. I tend to like what you two like. However, in this case, ... It's my shoe of the year. I find v4 bouncy/responsive, but not the extreme squishiness and bottoming out like prior versions. To me, it feels great from easy to up-tempo, it's the up tempo where it shines for me. I tend to be fore/midfoot when going up tempo, so don't notice any negative drop feel. Even when I slow down and are further back on the foot, it transitions well. It doesn't have a bulge to go up and over like some rockered shoes. I also have a wide forefoot (I think they call that triangle shaped), so it fits me well. Prior versions had a narrowed and slanted toe box.

I would appreciate your advice,
I am a 5' 7"/170 casual runner who runs only with the Saucony Triumph 20 (they wear up) and I looking for my next new shoe.
Look for a discount pair of the Adios pro 3 or the sen 8/9. If you like that Boston model 👊
New Balance 1080 v12 for me.

Edd whats your thoughts on the NB Rebel V4
Did review it. Did not like the upper fit or overly squashy midsole
@@EDDBUD Thanks Edd may have a look at the Rebel. Love the Saucony speed 4
For me the Hoka Clifton 9 is a great daily shoe. Feels superb even at 400 miles.
vomero 17 or saucony ride 17

Can’t go wrong with the Nike Pegasus or Puma velocity nitro 3.

I picked up a pair of Mizuno Wave sky rise 4 trainers for £39 from Sports Direct, good energy return and comfort for a jog or just walking about in, nice design and breathable 100% recommended 👍
Reebok, the best of running
Mine is A8 Novablast 4
Vomero 17 is really good. Nice on long runs
One of the better in the current crop from Nike
Vomero 17 all day
Interesting how you and Ko have similar views on the Rebel, but Run Testers liked it.
The upper is bizzare and the midsole so soft it’s a sponge to me

With my wide forefoot and forefoot strike, I appreciate the extra room.
