    I totally love it!!! I'm beginning with watercolors and sometimes I want to do everything so perfect that I just end pretty much frustrated and watercolor is not "perfection" it is kinda "go with the flow".
    I heard a long time ago a professional watercolor painter who said:
    -Acrylics are like a dog that you can do training; but watercolors are like a cat, you can try to giving obedience classes but the reality is that you can't 100% completely tamed him.-
    Now that is hammering my brains all the time, but I quite to think for a better reason😬.
    By the way I am new to your channel and I am enjoying it completely!

    Your atmospheric, abstract paintings always turn out so well, but for me--sadly, not so great. I think I'm a bit heavy handed, sigh. Using a mapping pen is a great idea to produce those fine lines and shapes. I'm wondering how it would work dipping one of them into masking fluid to create thin, fine lines for flower stems and petals. Your paintings are always such a great inspiration, Karen!

    • @KarenRiceArt
      @KarenRiceArt  3 года назад +2

      Thank you so much Mary... I am sure you are being too hard on yourself. The trick with these is less is more, because of all the tilting and spraying. Knowing when to stop is key. I am glad you like the idea about using the mapping pen and yes it would be perfect for applying this lines for masking fluid :)

    I'm in shock. These abstract sea and landscapes are LOVELY... so perfect. Just what I've been hoping to learn to paint. I got a bit of start when I googled abstract landscape tutorials and yours popped up. I joined your Patreon channel about a week ago, but I had no idea you did work like this. What a glorious find. Anyway, you mentioned getting "glacier green" and I went onto your Amazon US pages and could not find any listed on your pages. I did find a small tube for 20, but then they also listed a 5 tube earth tone set for 40 that I would like to buy. I sure wish it was on your Amazon pages as I would definitely like to get it so you get something from it. The same is true with a set of earthy Brusho colors. All I see that you have listed are basic colors. I may be overlooking them though. Let me know if you add them and I'll go purchase them from your pages. Thank you.

    This has been really fun for me trying out these techniques and making my own interpretation under your guidance. You are so clear and it’s been a lot of exciting and unexpected results. So thank you for freeing up my inner child.
    I do have a question for you. I had some end of tube paint that I decided to use. Up until now I have squeezed tube paint into my palette pans which of course hardens and lasts forever. This was the first time I used paint straight from the tube onto my tray.
    This morning I have a mucky tray with hardened blobs of dirty paint which are good for nothing. It seems a wasteful way to use paint. So the question is, do you have any helpful tips?

    • @KarenRiceArt
      @KarenRiceArt  2 года назад

      Thank you Mia, really pleased you enjoyed this tutorial. Thank you also for your question. You could squeeze your paint into empty pans to begin with, so you don't waste the paint. Check out this video where I have done just that: ruclips.net/video/DsmHLDvIGUE/видео.html 😊
