    It looks like a tiller was the smart move with all those rocks hidden just under the surface, it looks great. We tend to upturn a pallet and drag it over the area, it does a great job of levelling everything

    Nice job. In the future consider covering covering the area with an inch or two of manure compost before tilling. Good Luck, Rick

    I would add some winter wheat to your grass seed and the do a light cover of straw.

    You under estimate the ability of the box blade. I would have dropped the rippers and just broke up a bit. I love my box blade it's so versatile if you try out all it's abilities. Great job Ed.

    I have SOOOO many rocks on my place. I will probably consider a forward rotating tiller when mine dies (it is very close to the end of its life...). Good video, Ed!

    A hot mustard seed is good for bug suppression in gardens. I would love to have a tiller. Maybe this spring.

    Man I really want a tiller! I'd love to run it over all my property as my land is getting unruly with uneven lawns. Great video and have an awesome weekend!

    Forward rotation is easier for the tractor. Takes less HP or so I've been told. Good video ed, love the new farm.

    Johnathan Green Black Beaty ultra is my absolute favorite grass seed. It germinates fast as long as it stays damp obv. Scott’s and most big box store brands seeds have a tons of additives more so then you think. Scott’s makes great starter fertilizer tho!

    I just bought a new belco dlt-s50 tiller for my new kubota bx1880. I was wanting a 42", but local dealer didn't have any that size. Would have saved a little money. It's rated for 15-25 hp, and mine is a 16.6(13.7 pto hp)so its within the range. Barely, so I am going to be gentle with it, regardless because its a small tractor, even for a sub-compact. I am going to make sure of pto shaft length just in case dealer left it long. They did cut it, but I tend to not trust anybody, especially a dealer. I am gonna double check oil/grease points to make sure they are full. I need to do exactly what you're doing here. Regrade my back yard/field. I have to mow it slow due to being full of ruts and holes. I'll be sure and post a video once I get it hooked up and start using it. My lil brother is supposed to try it out for me since he has far more expeience with tractors then I do. GOD Bless.

    Have you ever bent a blade on the tiller Ed on the rocks and such? I'd love to get one and run it all over my property... but I know I have LOTS of rocks, lots of shallow roots, and a few stumps. (which it sounds like a forward tiller would work better on from your video)

    • @MyClutteredGarage
      @MyClutteredGarage  Год назад

      I don’t really have many rocks. This was an old rock garden apparently. But I have hit several over the years and have not bent anything.

    Could have used the land plane to level it out.

      Even a box blade could achieve about the same success, just with more passes and lots of fine tuning. I’m surprised he went with the hand rake right away as well.

    Good vid Ed, but just say no to armstrong rakes. I'm betting a man with your skill sets could of done that leveling with the tractor bucket not the hand rake.😄
