It looks like a tiller was the smart move with all those rocks hidden just under the surface, it looks great. We tend to upturn a pallet and drag it over the area, it does a great job of levelling everything
You under estimate the ability of the box blade. I would have dropped the rippers and just broke up a bit. I love my box blade it's so versatile if you try out all it's abilities. Great job Ed.
I have SOOOO many rocks on my place. I will probably consider a forward rotating tiller when mine dies (it is very close to the end of its life...). Good video, Ed!
Man I really want a tiller! I'd love to run it over all my property as my land is getting unruly with uneven lawns. Great video and have an awesome weekend!
I highly recommend you ask the folks at Reuben Hardware, 2323 S Main Rd, Vineland, NJ 08360, When it comes to lawncare advice they are the best around.
Johnathan Green Black Beaty ultra is my absolute favorite grass seed. It germinates fast as long as it stays damp obv. Scott’s and most big box store brands seeds have a tons of additives more so then you think. Scott’s makes great starter fertilizer tho!
I just bought a new belco dlt-s50 tiller for my new kubota bx1880. I was wanting a 42", but local dealer didn't have any that size. Would have saved a little money. It's rated for 15-25 hp, and mine is a 16.6(13.7 pto hp)so its within the range. Barely, so I am going to be gentle with it, regardless because its a small tractor, even for a sub-compact. I am going to make sure of pto shaft length just in case dealer left it long. They did cut it, but I tend to not trust anybody, especially a dealer. I am gonna double check oil/grease points to make sure they are full. I need to do exactly what you're doing here. Regrade my back yard/field. I have to mow it slow due to being full of ruts and holes. I'll be sure and post a video once I get it hooked up and start using it. My lil brother is supposed to try it out for me since he has far more expeience with tractors then I do. GOD Bless.
Good TGIF SIR 👌😇👍Very Nice Information about a fwd rotation tiller 🧐👍👍🚧🚧at 3:56 ( DANGEROUS CLOSE VIEW ) 🚧🚧Nice Blooper 🤣👍 LAND MINES, CALL THE GARDENING EOD TEAM 👍👍🤣🤣Fun Editing of your Fitness Garden Work Sir 💪👌👍😇It will be a very nice garden Sir 😇👍👌😋A nice Mixed flower Bed for the Bees Sir 👌👍😇💖 OUTSTANDING VIDEO Cheers 🍻🍻
Have you ever bent a blade on the tiller Ed on the rocks and such? I'd love to get one and run it all over my property... but I know I have LOTS of rocks, lots of shallow roots, and a few stumps. (which it sounds like a forward tiller would work better on from your video)
Even a box blade could achieve about the same success, just with more passes and lots of fine tuning. I’m surprised he went with the hand rake right away as well.
Good vid Ed, but just say no to armstrong rakes. I'm betting a man with your skill sets could of done that leveling with the tractor bucket not the hand rake.😄

That’s a great idea!
I think wildflowers for Ayn and the bees :)
That’s exactly what she said 👍😄
You lost me at hand rake!!! 🤣🤣 Tractor Hard! 🚜💪!
🤣🤣🤣
Nice job. In the future consider covering covering the area with an inch or two of manure compost before tilling. Good Luck, Rick
Thank you!
I would add some winter wheat to your grass seed and the do a light cover of straw.
Thanks!
Good evening Ed
Nice work 👍good job
Full watch and a thumbs up Ed.
Especially the bloopers 🤣🤣🤣👍🏻👍🏻
Haha, thanks Gary!
I have planted grass seed and had it snow just as it sprouted and had a nice lawn the next spring.
Turned out great Ed. Loved the outro music and edit. 🎬 👍
Thanks Chris!
This is exactly the information I needed!
Great!
Enjoyed the video. Good tip about tiller rotation I had never thought about too. 👍🏼
Glad you enjoyed it!
Mélange B 👍👍👍
Uh-Oh, Looks like it's time to get a rake to put behind the tractor.

Thanks Lucas. Does yours jam up?
Lots!
Good afternoon Ed, looks like you had a beautiful fall day. Knocked up a few rocks 🤭👍 Nice job on the tilling! Have a great weekend, Ben 🌾🍂🍁
I just bought a new 2502 and this same tiller. G 2:46 lad you made this video. I was worried if I could run it or not.
A hot mustard seed is good for bug suppression in gardens. I would love to have a tiller. Maybe this spring.
Nice job 👍🏆🏆👴🐕🚜😎🤠🙏🙏

You can borrow mine, Ross 😄👍
@@MyClutteredGarage and I'll lend you my backhoe
Forward rotation is easier for the tractor. Takes less HP or so I've been told. Good video ed, love the new farm.
Thank you!

I got an area that would produce a bucket full of stone with each pass😅
That looks like some nice dirt. Maybe you can knock the rocks 🪨 back down (joking)😂👍🚜💨🍳
Nice work Ed. I did find myself wondering how many hours it took prior owners to place those rocks just so. 🤔
The place is shaping up sir.
Thank you, Phil! I think they hid them like Easter eggs. 🤣

I don’t really have many rocks. This was an old rock garden apparently. But I have hit several over the years and have not bent anything.
Could have used the land plane to level it out.

Just say no! 🤣
