Sonic beats Shadow in speed but Shadow beats Sonic in strength. Only reason why Sonic would sometimes win is because his speed and speed can give you a lot of advantages in a fight. Shadow’s still pretty strong though.

I think choosing Perfect Chaos would have been too easy. He would have been #1 otherwise. So he's the final boss of two (I think it was two) characters. Psychokinesis and telekinesis are the same thing. I have never seen her fly but now I'm doubting that because I feel like I have before... Yeah, I knew someone would mention that eventually xD

I used to think that too. But when i saw him in the comics he was taken down too easily and was literally accusing everybody of betraying the freedom fighters.
Shadow, as stated multiple times, has inhibitor rings that greatly reduce his power. Metal sonic can go super when in his neo form and also needed 3 super characters to beat it, while most of the enemies here only needed one super character to take em down.
I've got my top 5 here 5) Sonic (speed is his only strength, and while he has some superforms he's still can't beat the next one) 4) Shadow (The ultimate life form, he defeated sonic multiple times and he has many powers) 3) E-123 Omega (he is the only one who defeated and sealed Shadow when people started to blame him for the destruction of the world back in 06 story) 2) Emerl (when he collected 7 chaos emeralds nobody could stop him. That's why his creator, Gerald Robotnik put a self-destruct sequence, which was the reason of his end) 1) Silver (he is literally a god. He defeated Enerjack, the being who triumphed over both Super sonic and shadow, collecting the cores of everyone in mobius. Except silver's. shadow can't teleport, or use chaos powers (and YES, one of the creators confirmed it) without a chaos emerald, take out shadow's shoes, he's slow. and taking out the rings in he's arms make him stronger, but he gets tired. Sonic has won or draw practicly all he's battle whit shadow, shadow NEVER won one, except a alternative ending in his game, but he had all chaos emeralds so... no Yeah, shadow totally wins.

Spoilers: In the leaked trophy list of Sonic Forces, one of them is unlocked via defeating Infinite. Which means you eventually overcome him at some point. Mephiles was never defeated. They had to go back in time to keep him from existing in the first place.

Shadow is the strongest (On this list at least) for a few reasons. First off, anyone who lost to Sonic would lose to Shadow because of their similarities. Secondly, he went toe to toe with Mehpiles. The guy who one shot Sonic and he only had to remove 2 of his 4 inhibitor rings. Imagine if he removed all 4, wait, imagine if he removed all 4 in Super or even Hyper form. Also Knux is stronger than you think. He knocked Sonic out of Super Form despite Super Sonic being almost Invincible. Also (If I'm correct) Super Forms give someone a 1000% increase in everything. That means Super Knuckles can lift 1000'00 Tons.

Mephiles has not been beaten in form Solaris. In fact, Super Sonic, Shadow and Silver are sealed his soul but Solaris would be came back, because it is past, present and future in same time. Solaris is beaten when Elise and Sonic are returned in the past to erase the flame, original form of Solaris, what erases Mephiles and Iblis of the timeline. Otherwise Mephiles, Iblis and Solaris can't be beaten, nor killed.
Regardless, we haven't seen Shadow's full power yet. If he removed 2 or even all 4 inhibitor rings in Super or even Hyper he would destroy Solaris. Yes he can't be killed but he actually can. Sonic 06 has shown the 3 Hedgehogs time travelling with the power of the Chaos Emeralds. Shadow could beat Mephiles, time travel beat him, repeat once more, done. At the very least we can assume Shadow would KO Solaris assuming he stays in Super.
I lowkey died inside when you listed everyones’ abilities, but for Silver you just said ‘he has psychic powers’ and nothing else. He can: Fly at speeds that rival Sonic’s Lift up to several tons of debris with his mind Survive getting thrown into said several tons as seen in Generations Both levitate himself and other objects simultaneously Create solid forms of psychic energy that he can use as projectiles (Psychic Knife and whatever it is he hurls at Sonic in 06) Mess with opponents’ self control in Sonic Rivals Teleport (short distances, mind you) Catch enemy projectiles and fire them back And, he can hold down his opponents and there’s nothing they can do because insert ‘it’s no use’ joke here. Not to mention he can harness the Chaos energy from the Chaos Emeralds as several other Sonic characters can do and go Super (Sayan)

Have you forgotten about shadows rings around his hands and feet, these help him control/restrict his power but let out enough power for him to use his chaos abilities such as teleportation and turn super

I feel like Mecha Sonic and Metal Sonic are seriously underrated. I mean Metal Sonic in 2004 game where he was secret boss, was beating all 12 characters in his overlord form + sonic/shadow/silver was in super modes. None else was such strong to beat them up.

Top ten most powerful... Number 1: Solaris (Mephilies + Iblis). Has the 110% penultimate win button in its ability to completely erase time, and its consciousness (not its body, just its consciousness) could only be taken down by attacking it in three separate moments in time, meaning it requires three people in seperate moments in time to take it down. While its durability and attacking strength is unknown, it was only ever fought by three super empowered beings, making it quite durable outside of the time shenanigans, and managed to hurt them through the heightened durability of their Super forms, making its offensive power very high. It can also summon 'eyes' that can either suck up the surrounding environment and kill everything that gets to close, or throws out random debris at whatever threat it may see. 2: Metal Overlord (Metal Madness, Metal Sonic). The mere fact its a copy robot (like Emerl) already means its potential power is higher than any other character. Only reason it doesn't take the #1 spot is because of Solaris's 110% penultimate win button + time shenanigans. Metal Overlord's durability is high enough that it requires a super state (and two bubbled allies with presumably similar capabilities) rapidly attacking it in order to hurt it at all. While it cannot harm a super state, it can shoot out its fingers (which regenerate) in order to trap others, even super states, and can only be broken from the outside. It can also freeze time with Chaos Control, and shapeshift (which is how it achieved its Metal Overlord form). It's also physically strong enough to lift up entire ships and throw them with one hand. 3: Dark Gaia. A creature that resides in the planet's core, and periodically destroys the planet every... so often, its physical strength is immense, able to lift roughly one seventh of the planet's core + mantle (not precise measurements, since that fragment is not quite a whole 7th), it also has a shield strong enough to block even a super state individual from entering (albeit not impenetrable entirely) which has snakelike tendrils keeping the shield up. Its range is impressive, albeit not as impressive as its physical strength. 4: Gaia Colossus (Chip). Repairs the planet whenever Dark Gaia rips it apart, the Gaia Colossus is capable of taking Dark Gaia on in a direct fight, punching it hard enough to disrupt a giant laser attack, and can even forcibly enter through Dark Gaia's shield without getting rid of the tentacle creatures. However, it can get ensared by Dark Gaia, and rendered completely helpless to it. 5: Hyper Sonic (Super Sonic, Darkspine Sonic, Excalibur Sonic, Werehog Sonic, Sonic the Hedgehog). Hyper Sonic is a transformation using powered up versions of the Chaos Emeralds, making it capable of everything Super Sonic can do and more. Due to its limited appearance its exact capabilities are unknown, so I will instead talk about what Super Sonic is capable of, but keep in mind Hyper Sonic is at least as strong if not stronger. Super Sonic can fly at hypersonic speeds, potentially reach light speeds (although I doubt this), and tearing through whatever's in his way. He can rip through metal, has enough offensive power to harm the likes of Dark Gaia, and can even survive in the vacuum of space. In his empowered state, Sonic's durability increases massively, with a relatively small amount of creatures and machines able to hurt him, the vast majority powered up in some fashion as well. While Sonic's speed is high, he has a distinct lack of projectile attacks, his best bet being an energy wave formed from a kick, which merely stuns enemies. He can also slow down time using Chaos Control, although he's only seen using it once. 6: Time Eater. A creature capable of erasing time, slowing down time, and teleporting its arms to attack anywhere. However it cannot directly harm a Super powered individual, and has a glowing core as its weak point which can be damaged by a Super Form, and can be shattered by the combined power of two Super Forms (one of which is Classic Sonic, making the durability feat less impressive). 7: Super Shadow (Shadow the Hedgehog). Shadow is powerful for many of the same reasons as Sonic, however he also has access to homing projectiles known as Chaos Spear, and an explosion known as Chaos Blast, among other moves. He is below Sonic mainly because he has no known Hyper Form as of present, and the relative lack of feats means that his capabilities aren't as comparable to Sonic (although still high). 8: Burning Blaze (Blaze the Cat). Blaze is powerful for many of the same reasons as Sonic, except she also has control over fire, able to manipulate it to near perfection and can even house Iblis inside of her despite not being a valid host. In her super form, she is also capable of shooting fireballs. She is below Shadow and Sonic due to the lack of ranged capabilities compared to Shadow and the lack of a known Hyper Form. 9: Super Silver (Silver the Hedgehog). Silver has telekinetic powers, allowing him to grab the vast majority of ranged attacks, and sending them back at opponents. Super Silver's durability is theoretically similar to Super Sonic/Super Shadow/Burning Blaze's, however he has not displayed the pure speed and direct destructive potential that they have. He also has no known Hyper Transformation. 10: Super Tails - Super Emeralds (Super Tails - Chaos Emeralds, Miles "Tails" Prower). Tails once needed the Super Emeralds in order to transform into Super Tails, but has since become capable of transforming with just the Chaos Emeralds. However his Super Emerald transformation is more powerful due to the four golden flickies flying around him (presumably also transformed). The main reason he is so low is due to a relative lack of feats, alongside significantly worse methods of flight (requires he spins his tails like a helicopter, can tire him out). He could potentially go higher if he reaches a transformation again. Honorable Mentions: Perfect Chaos (Chaos 6, Chaos 4, Chaos 2, Chaos 1, Chaos 0). Capable of destroying the world, can be brought down to Chaos 0 through using Chaos Energy. Has been taken down by Sonic without even using the Chaos Emeralds. Emerl. A copy robot, however while his copying skills are higher than Metal Sonic's, he does not copy Chaos's shapeshifting capabilities nor the durability of anyone, leaving him able to be destroyed easily. Hyper Knuckles (Super Knuckles, Knuckles the Echidna). Physically very strong, this Echidna did not make the list due to a lack of feats, plus the lack of an ability to fly properly. Could make the list if Super or Hyper forms are seen again. Zavok: Can survive an onslaught against Super Sonic, and only be taken down by the combined power of a full strength homing attack and falling. Giant size has only been taken down due to environmental factors. Has potential of shooting up the list if his attack strength got higher. Lastly, I'm going to pre-emptively put Infinite on the honorable mentions, as Sonic Forces has not yet released.

i have to agree with this list however fun fact why HYPER SONIC is actually 2nd place. hyper sonic uses the super emeralds which each is 7x more powerful than a regular chaos emerald. in basic hyper sonic is 7x stronger than super sonic meaning if chip is worth 6 super sonic or less (just throwing the only possibility's) then hyper sonic is stronger than him AND dark gaia since it was chip and super sonic to beat it. Metal Madness at the highest possible strength was 3 super sonic's and when you compare it to one with 7x the power its gonna die fast. Solaris however can just destroy time to win but since hyper sonic is a signal being no matter how strong he is he cant attack from 3 different times in order to beat his conciseness. so basically this but hyper sonic is 2nd place
I'm one of the biggest Sonic fans around, but Shadow will ALWAYS give Sonic a run for his money. Being the "ultimate life form" and all....his inhibitor rings are never taken off during his bouts with Sonic. More likely than not for a very good reason
How is silver a copy of sonic? I want someone to elaborate on that because I NEVER saw him as a Sonic copy. Doesn’t even have the same physique. You could then say shadow is a copy because simply they’re hedgehogs. That doesn’t automatically make them copies. Different powers, different personalities, different physical aspects. There’s no resemblance besides their species.

Shadow is the strongest (On this list at least) for a few reasons. First off, anyone who lost to Sonic would lose to Shadow because of their similarities. Secondly, he went toe to toe with Mehpiles. The guy who one shot Sonic and he only had to remove 2 of his 4 inhibitor rings. Imagine if he removed all 4, wait, imagine if he removed all 4 in Super or even Hyper form. Also Knux is stronger than you think. He knocked Sonic out of Super Form despite Super Sonic being almost Invincible. Also (If I'm correct) Super Forms give someone a 1000% increase in everything. That means Super Knuckles can lift 1000'00 Tons.

Mephiles has not been beaten in form Solaris. In fact, Super Sonic, Shadow and Silver are sealed his soul but Solaris would be came back, because it is past, present and future in same time. Solaris is beaten when Elise and Sonic are returned in the past to erase the flame, original form of Solaris, what erases Mephiles and Iblis of the timeline. Otherwise Mephiles, Iblis and Solaris can't be beaten, nor killed.
Regardless, we haven't seen Shadow's full power yet. If he removed 2 or even all 4 inhibitor rings in Super or even Hyper he would destroy Solaris. Yes he can't be killed but he actually can. Sonic 06 has shown the 3 Hedgehogs time travelling with the power of the Chaos Emeralds. Shadow could beat Mephiles, time travel beat him, repeat once more, done. At the very least we can assume Shadow would KO Solaris assuming he stays in Super.

Create solid forms of psychic energy that he can use as projectiles (Psychic Knife and whatever it is he hurls at Sonic in 06)

Teleport (short distances, mind you)
Catch enemy projectiles and fire them back
And, he can hold down his opponents and there’s nothing they can do because insert ‘it’s no use’ joke here. Not to mention he can harness the Chaos energy from the Chaos Emeralds as several other Sonic characters can do and go Super (Sayan)

Number 1: Solaris (Mephilies + Iblis). Has the 110% penultimate win button in its ability to completely erase time, and its consciousness (not its body, just its consciousness) could only be taken down by attacking it in three separate moments in time, meaning it requires three people in seperate moments in time to take it down. While its durability and attacking strength is unknown, it was only ever fought by three super empowered beings, making it quite durable outside of the time shenanigans, and managed to hurt them through the heightened durability of their Super forms, making its offensive power very high. It can also summon 'eyes' that can either suck up the surrounding environment and kill everything that gets to close, or throws out random debris at whatever threat it may see.
2: Metal Overlord (Metal Madness, Metal Sonic). The mere fact its a copy robot (like Emerl) already means its potential power is higher than any other character. Only reason it doesn't take the #1 spot is because of Solaris's 110% penultimate win button + time shenanigans. Metal Overlord's durability is high enough that it requires a super state (and two bubbled allies with presumably similar capabilities) rapidly attacking it in order to hurt it at all. While it cannot harm a super state, it can shoot out its fingers (which regenerate) in order to trap others, even super states, and can only be broken from the outside. It can also freeze time with Chaos Control, and shapeshift (which is how it achieved its Metal Overlord form). It's also physically strong enough to lift up entire ships and throw them with one hand.
3: Dark Gaia. A creature that resides in the planet's core, and periodically destroys the planet every... so often, its physical strength is immense, able to lift roughly one seventh of the planet's core + mantle (not precise measurements, since that fragment is not quite a whole 7th), it also has a shield strong enough to block even a super state individual from entering (albeit not impenetrable entirely) which has snakelike tendrils keeping the shield up. Its range is impressive, albeit not as impressive as its physical strength.
4: Gaia Colossus (Chip). Repairs the planet whenever Dark Gaia rips it apart, the Gaia Colossus is capable of taking Dark Gaia on in a direct fight, punching it hard enough to disrupt a giant laser attack, and can even forcibly enter through Dark Gaia's shield without getting rid of the tentacle creatures. However, it can get ensared by Dark Gaia, and rendered completely helpless to it.
5: Hyper Sonic (Super Sonic, Darkspine Sonic, Excalibur Sonic, Werehog Sonic, Sonic the Hedgehog). Hyper Sonic is a transformation using powered up versions of the Chaos Emeralds, making it capable of everything Super Sonic can do and more. Due to its limited appearance its exact capabilities are unknown, so I will instead talk about what Super Sonic is capable of, but keep in mind Hyper Sonic is at least as strong if not stronger.
Super Sonic can fly at hypersonic speeds, potentially reach light speeds (although I doubt this), and tearing through whatever's in his way. He can rip through metal, has enough offensive power to harm the likes of Dark Gaia, and can even survive in the vacuum of space. In his empowered state, Sonic's durability increases massively, with a relatively small amount of creatures and machines able to hurt him, the vast majority powered up in some fashion as well. While Sonic's speed is high, he has a distinct lack of projectile attacks, his best bet being an energy wave formed from a kick, which merely stuns enemies. He can also slow down time using Chaos Control, although he's only seen using it once.
6: Time Eater. A creature capable of erasing time, slowing down time, and teleporting its arms to attack anywhere. However it cannot directly harm a Super powered individual, and has a glowing core as its weak point which can be damaged by a Super Form, and can be shattered by the combined power of two Super Forms (one of which is Classic Sonic, making the durability feat less impressive).
7: Super Shadow (Shadow the Hedgehog). Shadow is powerful for many of the same reasons as Sonic, however he also has access to homing projectiles known as Chaos Spear, and an explosion known as Chaos Blast, among other moves. He is below Sonic mainly because he has no known Hyper Form as of present, and the relative lack of feats means that his capabilities aren't as comparable to Sonic (although still high).
8: Burning Blaze (Blaze the Cat). Blaze is powerful for many of the same reasons as Sonic, except she also has control over fire, able to manipulate it to near perfection and can even house Iblis inside of her despite not being a valid host. In her super form, she is also capable of shooting fireballs. She is below Shadow and Sonic due to the lack of ranged capabilities compared to Shadow and the lack of a known Hyper Form.
9: Super Silver (Silver the Hedgehog). Silver has telekinetic powers, allowing him to grab the vast majority of ranged attacks, and sending them back at opponents. Super Silver's durability is theoretically similar to Super Sonic/Super Shadow/Burning Blaze's, however he has not displayed the pure speed and direct destructive potential that they have. He also has no known Hyper Transformation.
10: Super Tails - Super Emeralds (Super Tails - Chaos Emeralds, Miles "Tails" Prower). Tails once needed the Super Emeralds in order to transform into Super Tails, but has since become capable of transforming with just the Chaos Emeralds. However his Super Emerald transformation is more powerful due to the four golden flickies flying around him (presumably also transformed). The main reason he is so low is due to a relative lack of feats, alongside significantly worse methods of flight (requires he spins his tails like a helicopter, can tire him out). He could potentially go higher if he reaches a transformation again.
Honorable Mentions:
Perfect Chaos (Chaos 6, Chaos 4, Chaos 2, Chaos 1, Chaos 0). Capable of destroying the world, can be brought down to Chaos 0 through using Chaos Energy. Has been taken down by Sonic without even using the Chaos Emeralds.
Emerl. A copy robot, however while his copying skills are higher than Metal Sonic's, he does not copy Chaos's shapeshifting capabilities nor the durability of anyone, leaving him able to be destroyed easily.
Hyper Knuckles (Super Knuckles, Knuckles the Echidna). Physically very strong, this Echidna did not make the list due to a lack of feats, plus the lack of an ability to fly properly. Could make the list if Super or Hyper forms are seen again.
Zavok: Can survive an onslaught against Super Sonic, and only be taken down by the combined power of a full strength homing attack and falling. Giant size has only been taken down due to environmental factors. Has potential of shooting up the list if his attack strength got higher.
Lastly, I'm going to pre-emptively put Infinite on the honorable mentions, as Sonic Forces has not yet released.
Numbuh1234 All the the super forms should be equal in power due to being from the same power source. Also Sonic can beat Dark Gaia, Metal Overlord, and Chip all by himself since he's gotten stronger.
i have to agree with this list however fun fact why HYPER SONIC is actually 2nd place. hyper sonic uses the super emeralds which each is 7x more powerful than a regular chaos emerald. in basic hyper sonic is 7x stronger than super sonic meaning if chip is worth 6 super sonic or less (just throwing the only possibility's) then hyper sonic is stronger than him AND dark gaia since it was chip and super sonic to beat it. Metal Madness at the highest possible strength was 3 super sonic's and when you compare it to one with 7x the power its gonna die fast. Solaris however can just destroy time to win but since hyper sonic is a signal being no matter how strong he is he cant attack from 3 different times in order to beat his conciseness. so basically this but hyper sonic is 2nd place

I'm one of the biggest Sonic fans around, but Shadow will ALWAYS give Sonic a run for his money. Being the "ultimate life form" and all....his inhibitor rings are never taken off during his bouts with Sonic. More likely than not for a very good reason

How is silver a copy of sonic? I want someone to elaborate on that because I NEVER saw him as a Sonic copy. Doesn’t even have the same physique. You could then say shadow is a copy because simply they’re hedgehogs. That doesn’t automatically make them copies. Different powers, different personalities, different physical aspects. There’s no resemblance besides their species.

According to the manual of Sonic Adventure DX, Sonic can run at hyper sonic speed, already according to Sonic Adventure 2 Battle, shadow has the same speed of Sonic, so Shadow has hyper sonic speed, and, can use the chaos powers, like, Chaos Control, Chaos Boost, Chaos Blast, and Chaos Spear. According to Sonic Colors, Sonic has the speed of light in addition to being able to use Chaos Control, so Sonic is the most powerfull
