If you as a comedian stop, the heckling will continue. Just an update. I was on the next cruise (Aug 18-25) after this happened. He did perform on my cruise. Someone had told me he did not get paid for the show of the altercation (I do not know if that is true). He did make a video admitting he should not have said anything until she was escorted out but he just reacted and did not want to lose the crowd so kept the focus on jokes and being funny.

I think he was doing his job 😊. And if that lady didn’t like it she should have just left instead of making a big scene. Yet I felt like he was trying to de-escalate the situation by making jokes as well.😊

Hes a comedian! Thats how you handle hecklers at comedy shows. There are videos all over the internet with that same situation where someone gets mad and the comedian crcks jokes about them and the situation....
True but this was on a ship (not that it should make a difference), but what does his contract say about "guest interaction". It's easier to control staff than passengers. And I think that's what happened in this case.

Most experienced comedians have dealt with hecklers before. You have to have thick skin to be a comedian. Theyve all bombed once or twice before.
