    It's really weird to me that anyone older than college age cares about seeing a green bubble. I know a girl in her 30's who talks about it all the time, and even uses it as criteria to screen out potential romantic partners. It's petty classism, but also tech illiteracy, if you can't understand why someone might prefer the Android software experience or the hardware configuration of their particular Android phone.

    I feel like it's important to note that Apple is fully aware of the cultural divide iMessage created and uses it as a marketing strategy. There were a bunch of emails and memos from Apple that came to light as discovery in a recent lawsuit where Apple was shown to refuse changing its messaging strategy because of the fact that so many people buy iPhones specifically to use iMessage with their friends and not become ostracized from their social group.

They think that's the only way to keep selling iPhones at this point apparently.. I can't believe Apple users think that this is an Android issue when the company they support is the one refusing to cooperate. Apple cares more about sales and money than they do about the users. I use Android and iOS and the thing that keeps me coming back to iOS is mainly iMessage. 99% of all my friends and family have iPhones and when they share videos of something I always have to ask them to send it to me via FB messages etc and having your tech illiterate friends and family do that is almost impossible at times so I end up missing the videos etc and I end up switching back to iOS, this is also huge for group chats as well, when you have a Android user in a iOS group chat it's really clunky and you arent able to add or remove users on the fly like you can with iOS only group chats. This key reason is why I dont think Apple will ever implement RCS, they know people love iMessage and if they enable RCS they may actually start to loose customers over it.

      @@joemichael5155 Actually RCS is pretty bad. Sometimes I send a message to someone via RCS, and they don't get the message, and sometimes I don't get the message when someone else RCSs me. Google needs to make RCS work reliably first before they go pounce on Apple.

  • @TYBG85
    @TYBG85 4 месяца назад +2

    By the way this is only a woman concern.
    No man has ever said to a girl "eww green bubbles, I guess I don't want to go on a date with you". This is women particularly young women being mind fucked by Apple to pressure other girls and men into getting an iPhone.
    I ran into this issue three times when I was recently single. Didn't know what was happening the first time, noticed a pattern the second, actually researched it the third time.
    Extra insulting because the girls who were shaming me almost always lived at home and made a fraction of what I made at work. And most of them were on family plans that their daddy paid for.
    It's not a flex paying $25 a month for your phone. If that's what separates the haves from The have nots then you have a very low bar of what success is.
    I know fry cooks at McDonald's who have iPhones without any difficulty.

    After this video was published, Apple apparently stated it would start supporting RCS "...sometime in 2024". And they HAVE just incorporated PQ3 in their last f/w update. In addition to being a super quantum-computing-decryption proof technology, is PQ3 also somehow a superset of RCS ? In other words, is Apple now supporting RCS ?

  • @NathanDreamsBig
    @NathanDreamsBig 2 года назад

    But apple could also just change the bubble color from green to blue and still use the current iMessage strategy and also does not need to implement Google RCS or everyone could just switch to a Google Pixel phone instead because Apple is the only one that's not solving the problem.

    Is RCS open source RFC specification? In looking at the GSM Association it looks like the RCS message service may not be a true open source backed by the use of RFC's like the Internet was build on like previously built IM (Instant Messaging) services.
    Question is would we even have the Internet if PHD Robert Metcalfe "The Father of Ethernet" (inside joke) had not pushed to make Ethernet an open standard? Thing is Apple customers like most everyone else are going to use the default IM application that is on their device. Thing is normals just do not care as long as they are able to send a plain text message to someone which is what they use it for.
