Why has it taken me this long to get into 40k? This is the darkest, most badass sci-fi universe ever. If Ashens voice didn’t put me to sleep I would have listened to it all in one sitting.
I mean the truth of it is that it's an incredibly hostile setting to get into, like you gotta know the references to a dozen other things to properly understand any lore you read. That being said, once you do know the references to those dozen other things... oh, boy, howdy are you in for a treat. A bleak, hopeless universe filled with evil in which characters who find a way to be noble despite the grim darkness must navigate impossibly difficult odds. Or, should the characters be ignoble, at least they're entertaining to read about most of the time.

I always tell people to find a faction that sounds cool and start there. No wrong way to start, no prerequisite knowledge needed. Everyone finds their own path.

My only regret is not delving into Warhammer 40K at an earlier age. Played Dawn of War 2, Spacemarine and various other games but never looked into the lore in such detail. Truly dark and grim, I absolutely love it.
When I started reading the Warhammer books and RPG source guides back in the late 80s I had no idea it would still go in this strongly to date. Same as Cyberpunk, SpellJammer or Shadowrun. I'm grateful to have been here long enough to appreciate it all. It all started when I heard Bolt Thrower. We shall remember them!

The more I learn, the more I fall in love with the grim dark future of humanity and it has quickly become my favorite scifi setting and the lore runs so deep theres always more to learn! Darktide got me started and as i learn more I appreciate the game so much more; all the little quips the characters make as well as learning about chaos and who Nurgle is. Bottom line, I greatly appreciate lore videos AND videos that i can relax and fall asleep to and this is that perfect niche. Thank you for a great experience 😊

I remember reading the lore tidbits for Destiny, about a year before it came out, thinking it was gonna be even better than Halo. What a waste of a good setting.
It’s funny because if your listening to something and you start dreaming your start to incorporate what is being said into a dream. For me it manifests in me actually saying it or acting it out. I know this because I fell asleep watching a short and I kept repeating the shit they said in the short in my dream. It was the weirdest fever dream experience I have ever had

I agree. The white noise is super loud, but it has an ASMR quality. It can be useful for sleeping, when coherency is not the top priority
