Journalism can be a dirty business at times. That TV interview - where both were brought on - was basically a set up. If you watch the full show, the interviewer seemed determined to get them to squabble - and I expect that his bosses had decided that this was a great idea, too
Which can't have been difficult when Clough was reeling after getting sacked & they didn't get on all that well in the first place. Clough never seemed to shy away from controversy either, exactly
Clough was a flawed man but undoubtedly a genius at what he did. He was an addict and probably still in physical pain from being kicked out of the game in his twenties - his goal scoring record is astounding too. He was certainly in mental pain from it, hence is obsession with winning right and playing right.
