This DIY Twin Sleeper Chair folds forward into a bed. The same cushions for the chair are used for the bed. And there's even a storage compartment for bedding! We spent about $100 on this project and are sharing the free plans here: www.ana-white.c...
I can seriously see 100 different uses for this piece.
I'd love to see some of the fail projects though. Like a blooper reel---and maybe us readers will think of ways to fix it

As an amateur with woodworker, i typically feel overpowered with the entire arrangement ruclips.net/user/postUgkxrYREG3-7f1Aqk9ams3ZESRNzGnfdUtyQ . Be that as it may, this arrangements drove me through with much clarity and effortlessness woodplans. Works i now work like a genius. That is great!

Weave seatbelt strapping in place of wood slats to make lighter.
Good idea. How do you secure the seat belt strapping?
There’s a tow strap that’s about 12 feet or so. Ugly yellow, but could dye it. Menards has it 10-20 dollars.
That webbing is someplace, upholstery standby. Would come on a bolt or roll probably.

This is my thought as well
But it would break because of the weight.
Build 2 chairs and create the capacity to clamp/dowel/connect them together side by side and you would have a king size bed when needed. Put back as chairs when you don't. That's would I am thinking about for a flex guest room/game room for my nephews

Great project. You single handled solved every Van Dweller problem on having a couch/bed. Just a little tweaks on lighter material and Boom.

Definitely want to build one of these! Will probably cut a nice curved arm piece (like a pew bench) to give it it less of a boxy look. Thanks for another awesome design Ana! I love everything you put out!
HolleWood Furniture Maybe like a chair where it starts out farther out but rounded, curves in and works back out again. You don’t want to take away too much. That would reduce structural integrity.
@@lauriemashek5419 yeah that would look nice as well. I was thinking of keeping the same height at the back corner and then create the arm rest, then leaving a few inches of materials to rest against the bottom frame when flipped. As long as you keep the back corner at the same height it should have enough strength.

That’s awesome! Probably would have recessed the bed slates myself so the cushions don’t fall off while sleeping. It’s still brilliant!

Great idea. My father in-law actually made a double bed for my wife. It’s amazing too and just like yours, underneath the head of the bed was storage with two drawers going down each side of the bed. It’s very heavy too but we will never get rid of it. It still solid as after more than 20 years

Ana? Have you ever taken a few minutes to estimate how much money you saved by making your own furniture? This will not take into account the extra savings on the many pieces you have custom made for specific areas or uses, but I think it would be worthwhile for some of your viewers on the fence about trying some of your projects....I love the convertible chair and I hope your birthday was great..... thanks for this project. BTW....treated myself to the Kreg jig you are using today....I had been using a small, portable version for years, but decided to splurge.
These long screws are awfully expensive :( But you don't built your furniture to save money but to have exactly the furniture you want to have. Well, me at last.
My birthday was on the 3rd and I asked to spend it quilting on my Longarm quilting machine!!! I totally understanding wanting time to enjoy doing whatever it is you enjoy!!! Happy Birthday!!!
I would suggest that you do the bottom cushion combined with the middle cushion. The cushion will push off the end or sides.

It will be terribly heavy, but you only have to move one part and part of this weight is taken by the hinge.
le th I am going to use for the sides very light redwood fence lumber sold at Lowe’s or any lumber yard. They measure
1 and 5/8”by 6”. I use this very light wood for much construction on my van. Very light and nice rustic look.
That is perfect for what I need in my small Transit van. Thank you for having plan available.

Awwh Everly’s laugh is adorable. Got to admit I love the noises babies make (well, minus the screaming their heads off and nothing will settle them!) I even like when new horns do that little cry they do. But the babbling as they’re talking to you/themselves is my favourite lol. It’s like they used to sit telling me a story? Lol.
Fantastic job!! I came across this video while visiting your web site. I made the outdoor couch/sectional. I have one more piece to make but the first half is amazing. I stained it early American and up cycled the cushions off my old oversized otter man and couch. And what also made it cool is I found some great fabric on sale for half off. Anyway. Fantastic for a dual purpose project that’s cozy ! You could fit a small child and an adult in this chair for a story time then pop it out for the child to take a nap! Great build for approximately 100 dollars invested for materials! Blessings!💕

I've actually been wanting something similar to this for my craft room. A small piece for overnight company to stay if we have more than our other spare room accommodates, which happens a couple times a year. But my craft room is small. So a bed or futon is a no. I was thinking a chair that turns into a small bed. This is honestly perfect. So excited to try it!

Disneyland is indeed overrated, but a nice trip to Europe isn't.
Going to Italy especially some of the rural areas, stay in a small town, eat fresh real Italian food, your hubby could sign up for a hunt excursion on wild boar, mountain goat, deer small game and fish which you get to eat (the Italian way) of course with pasta, Italian wine's and European Beers.
That ain't overrated, believe me.

Being such big DIYers you probably know this but ill say it anyway a very easy way to cut Foam rubber is using a Electric knife i buy them at Garage sales for really cheap prices or. Ask friends if they have a old one they dont use ! Ive made a lot of Boat cushions using the same knife too as the commercial cutters are pretty expensive IMO Happy Belated Birthday too ! The baby is Adorable
