    May I suggest that if you don’t have already and it sounds good to you, that you create a custom wood burning stamp to “sign” your creations, especially for the furniture. Maybe even several with different specifics like location and “personal collection” for additional identification. May have minimal importance or value today but I expect these items to become generational and significance may be quite different with passed time.

      Think big Laura. This will be the start of your Design Company. Be prepared! ‘Branding’ your ‘free range furniture’ (I think that’s funny) will be a good way to indicate 1) It’s your design, 2) You built it, 3) Where you built it, 4) When you built it, 5-?) style name & number, line name, etc…
      The labels that furniture companies used to put on furniture eventually got damaged so they were sometimes impossible to read or lost all together.

    Love the design. One little thing. When there is no air circulation underneath the mattress, you have a change of mold under your matress caused by the humidity of the matress

    • @VeretenoVids
      @VeretenoVids 16 дней назад +2

      But it's on slats and on a tile floor so surely there will be air circulation. Plus they live in a dry environment.

      @@VeretenoVids I had a box spring on the floor with a mattress on top, so a lot of air flow in theory, but we got mold on the floor beneath and on the underside of the mattress. So slats don't help if the outer frame is closed.

      well out here in So Cal the damp is in the winter/spring when it is cool so not all year but it would be easy to remedy that with some small feet on the frame to echo the little benches from last week no more then 2" tall (smaller better) on the corners and in the middle Maybe add a small board inside to support the long matters supports. prototypes are always problem solving exercises

    May I suggest when using the dry joint method of using dowels that you take a tip from timber frameing techniques and use an offset punch to mark the drill position for the hole through the Domino, this will give you an offset hole so that when you hammer the dowel through it will snug the joint up giving you a firmer fixing.

    It's refreshing to see you say "nope. Don't like it. Let's do another one." I like that you're not so attached to something just because you made it. Sometimes the design on paper doesn't work out in reality. I really like this design. I may make my own version. Your unique connection with dowells is rad.

    I don't have your training or experience, but we (my husband and I) are building our own house anyway! One thing I love about you and have found very inspiring and empowering is your clarity about what you do and don't want, as well as your willingness to try, "fail" (according to whatever standard you have set) and then just do things over if you don't like something you've created. There's just so much spaciousness in your way of being around creating.
    I have always been hobbled by this intense perfectionism and harsh critique of myself. I feel like I'm really learning from you how to weave play, lightheartedness and joy into creating❣ It's like your way of approaching things is, "Go for it because you can't really f-ck it up, and if you do so what? Just start over and try again another way!" No judgement or heavy critique. Just creativity, trying, learning/assessing, adjusting and playing with it some more. I just LOVE that about you and the way you work. Grateful I found your channel.
    PS ~ Smoodle looks like he's doing great! I'm so glad.

    Hey! Dein zweiter Ansatz gefällt mir sehr gut. Ich habe 2 Anregungen/Fragen:
    1. Bist du im Thema Ausdünstungen von Klebstoffen informiert? Habe keine Expertise, aber habe gehört, dass es neue Studien gibt, die nicht gut aussehen. Auch für Wandfarbe. Dachte deswegen hast du die lehmfarben genommen…
    2. Der Rahmen liegt ringsum flach auf. D.h. Du hast relativ wenig Luft Raum unter der Matratze. Vielleicht reicht dadurch die Belüftung nicht. Vielleicht kannst du BelüftungsLöcher in den Rahmen setzen oder ihn auf kleine Sockel stellen. Sonst könnte es je nach Matratze und Temperatur zu schimmelbildung kommen. Dachte ich zumindest

    You have the skills so it would be a waste to not get the maximum benefit out of them by creating the best quality pieces made with the best quality woods.
    It would probably take a few years or months to search out flea markets, second hand stores and the like to source enough materials, but you seem to have the time.
