Fantastic video!! I love the chill walkabout style of this one. Please do more like this in the future. It's really nice to be able to take it in as a viewer.
My guess is everyone waiting for Jan 20 will be in for a big disappointment. People dont just vanish into thin air. Real estate salesmen will say anything at closing time.
15:31 I lived in that building in the Summer of 1983. Corner of Breeze Ave, one of the "Walk Streets"... Top floor, front, NW corner with THE view you always see in movies, of the beach, Santa Monica Pier and the curve of the hills out to Malibu. The rent was $250 a month. We sublet it from the actual tenant, so we paid him more. Our total rent was $285. Three of us divided that, so each of us paid $95 a month. It had an antique elevator with the heavy steel door and sliding steel grate. You had to operate it yourself, using the up or down handle. It was like something out of the 3 Stooges, lining up the door with the floor. Great memories. The place, being on the beach, was loaded with roaches. We saw a rat or two in the hallway, just shoo them out the door. Most of the residents were surfers, artists, bartenders, weed dealers and a drag queen or two. It was awesome. Today it is a Luxury "Destination Resort" Hotel. Our $285 apartment is now a "Suite" that will run you $439 a night, mid-week.
Love your content Shacked! Thank you for the tour! 😊
