- This Sunday, I've planned a special 'Tea Reads' video in honour of Stir Up Sunday. In this video, I'm joined by my Mum (Donna), and we share our regular routine of a chat about books over tea and a sweet treat. In our 'Tea Reads' episodes, we'll be sharing great short reads that can be enjoyed in the time it takes to drink a cup of tea. In today's episode, we're stirring together our Christmas pudding, sharing some of the history of plum puddings and reading aloud a few of our favourite Christmassy reads that feature Christmas puddings.

She certainly is! ❤️
The Queens of coziness ❤️❤️❤️
Love it! Thank you 😄❤️
You two lovely ladies got me all fired up for Christmas. For this 32 minutes today I did not worry about Covid or the state of our democracy in the US. Thank you.
What a lovely comment! Thank you very much; so glad we could provide some distraction for a bit xxx
After watching your lovely video I feel ready for advent- thanks 🥰🎄

The Adventure of Christmas Pudding ☺️
A joy ladies ❤️❤️
Thank you!!
Wonderful. I am binging on older videos that were completed prior to my finding you.Looking forward to seeing the new ones around Christmas since it is my favorite holiday.🌲
Thank you, Shelley! Love the Christmas season too.
Hello, you two, your videos perfectly bookend the weekends for me and this was another cosy, wonderful example, such fun! I really hope your stirring wishes come true this Christmas, you deserve it for spreading such joy in these times!
Aw, that’s so lovely of you to say, Georgia! Thank you very much 🎄📚😘
This is utterly charming - thank you ladies 😊
I love Delia’s Christmas book and highly recommend the cranberry and orange relish on page 193.
Oh good to know - thank you! I make a Mary Berry fresh orange & cranberry sauce, but I bet Delia’s is great too 😄
In the states, "pudding" usually refers to a custard-like dessert, so I always thought plum pudding was just that, a plum flavored custard. Watching you and your mom interact is always just delightful. Thank you!
Thank you, Pamela! No, Christmas Pudding is definitely more of the canon ball variety of pudding - but we love it! 😂
Hello both, such a joyous fireside treat today and how cheering too with delightful chuckling as you read out those wonderful extracts. Just what we all need, thank you both. Enjoy your week, Teresa 🧡🍰📚🌲🥣🧡
Thank you so much, Teresa! So glad you enjoyed it 😊🔥📚🎄
Great stuff, really enjoyed the video. Can't wait to see many more Christmas recipes. Thank you Miranda and Donna. Love you both xx
Thanks so much, Jess! xxx
This is DELIGHTFUL in every way! Love hearing your memory of your family opening your home to others. Thank you for sharing!

Oh, that was such fun! Your enjoyment of the process - and the reminiscents, were infectious.
Thank you so much! We had fun doing it, and I'm glad you enjoyed watching! xxx
What fun! Thank you both so much for this delightful Stir Up Sunday.
Thanks so much Christine! Glad you enjoyed it 😊🎄
Thank you, Miranda and Donna, for the link to the poem about Sam's Christmas Pudding. I'd not heard it before. It was perfect. With a cheery wave and a smile -- Carol
I’m so glad you enjoyed it, Carol! And thank you so much for your support! I so much appreciate your kindness ❤️📚💐
Two lovely ladies!!! Nice title for a book to write.
I always enjoy watching you and your mum together. Such a heartwarming video! Some of the excerpts you read had me laughing. So happy you mentioned this video on Instagram.
I was shocked when I saw the thumbnail without Donna. I was where is Donna?!. We need you both for the bake and read videos :) Thank you both, none in my family like the Christmas pudding but I might end up doing it because of your recipe and your cozy, warm videos. I will have them lined up for the stirring and wish-making:)
Haha! I think you definitely deserve a Christmas pudding, and perhaps you’ll win them over 😉
Lovely program. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you so much ☺️💕
Oh, how I wish you had Taste-O-Vision on this video! I've always wanted to try Christmas pudding...especially having read about it in 'The Christmas Carol' every year. lol. The quince pastilles looked amazing! I smiled and giggled through the entire video - such a lovely Sunday treat for me. Thank you so much! You are your mom always look so lovely, too. Loved the book recommendations, too!
Thanks so much for the lovely comment! So glad you enjoyed it 😊❤️📚🎄
Love your podcasts so much! This is one I will be rewatching. I love Christmas reading and look forward to all of your recommendations. You and your mom are such bright spots in these very troubled times. You definitely lift my spirits. Take care......Crystal.
Oh thank you so much, Crystal! I'm so glad you enjoyed it. Take care xxx
Hello Miranda and Donna, this was such a funny and festive video! I adored all the extracts you read and the stiring ceremony was fun too. We used to buy a Christmas Pudding every year because my English husband always wanted one and one year I actually made one myself from scratch ( inspired by Nigel Slater). It was delicious and we even decorated it with a holly twig from our garden.
Thank you Marion! So glad you enjoyed all the readings 😊📚🎄
What a gorgeous, festive, video! I use the same Christmas Pudding recipe, always turns out so beautifully.
When i heard the poem about Sam and the Christmas pudding, it immediately reminded me of The Lion and Albert, a great favourite of mine, which i now realise was also recited so hilariously by Stanley Holloway. Your videos are really helping to set the scene for christmas, thank you! X
Oh yes, we love The Lion and Albert read by him too 😂 xxx
A wonderful, festive watch! Delightful! I'm guessing you are both quite accomplished home-cooks?! Perhaps Tea Reads could become a spin-off channel altogether, marrying a literary dish with real-life cooking! 😘😘
Oh thanks very much! I think Tea Reads once a week is enough for my Mum right now though 😄
@@MirandaMills 😂
I've watched all of your festive video's, and now I'm watching them all a second time because they are simply delicious in every way!! I feel like I'm in a book of my own choosing, your special little whimsical world :) I can't wait to try making those pastilles! xo
What a lovely video! Thank you very much Miranda and Donna!
So glad you enjoyed it, Julia 😊🔥📚
Such a treat! I was laughing so much at the E. Nesbit story. Great selections as usual.
Thanks so much Elizabeth! I just love that bit of the story 😂
I love UK Christmas pudding! I get it from a shop here called Brits in Lawrence Kansas USA. But now I can make your wonderful recipe!! Thank you so much 😊
I definitely recommend trying homemade - it's generally so much better! xxx
What a thoroughly enjoyable and fun video, you both had me laughing out loud, especially your mum 😂😂. Felt like you’d both had an amazing day 😍
My mum and I aren’t real lovers of Christmas pudding and then I discovered Delia’s recipe, gosh, must be twenty odd years ago, and have made it ever since, we both looove it, my book most definitely doesn’t look as well preserved as your mum’s 🙃
Great choice of readings, I’m definitely beginning to feel a lot like Christmas 🎄
Love the stars by the way, I checked them out on Cambridge Imprints website earlier ☺️
Thanks so much, Karen! Glad you enjoyed it - we definitely did have a lot of fun! And happy to hear you’re a fan of Delia’s recipe too 😄❤️
That was so fun!! I really enjoyed that!! I loved the bits both of you read and I am glad you wrote down the books they are from. I never had Christmas pudding but would sometime like to try and make it one Christmas. Hugs ❤️ to both of you from America (Michigan).
Thank you very much! So glad you enjoyed it. I definitely recommend giving Christmas pudding a go sometime. It’s not very difficult, but is very rewarding!
How lovely. I was going to request this one. Any chance for a mince pie video? I love mince pies.
Yes, we’ll be doing mince pies later on 😊
I have the same Delia recipe book....I found it second hand years ago.
It's such a good one!
LOVED the video.
Do you have a mailing address for the "public" (fans)? Because I NEED to send you two a spatula!
Thank you for adding this to my holiday cheer!
Haha thanks Julie, but no I don’t have a public address. A spatula will just have to go on the Christmas list 😂🎄
