And Bensonhurst Brooklyn used to be Italian. Now...Chinese. Same is happening with Sunset Park, Chinese buying up everything up and down left and right. In my opinion, this is not something that will pass and change hands, they are staying for many many generations. Beautiful brownstones and limestone homes torn down to stick a laundry mat in its place or a cheap ugly looking apartment building vs Park Slope where buildings do get torn down but they are replaced with even more beautiful buildings. Nothing against any race really, but this is not a change for the better.

Meine Highlights waren natürlich Empire State Building, was die 38 dollar definitiv wert waren, Hard Rock Café, coney Island, Grand Central Station und DUMBO.

See the pink banner outside Dunkin Donuts at 5:42? Our press operator was on vacation, so I had to load all 5,000 of those onto the press at my dad’s printing company in Indiana just a couple months back. Trust me - a lot more work is involved in producing such banners than it seems!!
I’ve been involved in the business for just a few years now, but I still haven’t gotten used to seeing my own work spontaneously pop up like this. When I began, I never expected to feel much sense of a reward from this work (I graduated with a pre-med degree... I was supposed to be a doctor, not a printer!). Ive since come to understand that we achieve fulfillment not by gaining status/respectability among peers, but by applying ourselves faithfully to the task at hand, fully satisfied in the knowledge of having maximally contributed in whichever ways we can. Feels good.

Deepest green forests, tall cliffs, and on the Island, a gaze into the Atlantic and off edge of the world.

Can I make a suggestion since you went to the Twin Towers memorial you should watch the video of the Memorial museum (done by the museum) I think you'll have a better feeling towards that tragedy. Plus as a NY'er I can tell you that that tragedy hasn't stopped yet. Every month we are still losing people who worked for many months searching for remains. Glad you enjoyed our city! PS: I hope you saw Times Square at night too!

I appreciate your review of my new home city (almost 3 years here!). If you ever come back to NYC (and a true NYC lover comes back multiple times, as I did before I finally moved), please go up the observation deck at Rockefeller Center Top of the Rock. From there, you can actually see the magnificent views WITH the Empire State building. If you're on the Empire State Building, you're missing that key architectural feature. My favorite building is the Chrysler. Love art deco. It makes me happy every time I see it peaking through other buildings. Glad it lived up to your expectations. I was nervous upon watching this video that you would hate it. It's how I felt about visiting London after years of watching 90s and 00s movies set in London. I think I would've enjoyed old London but not present day London... I don't know. I'm willing to give it a do-over. Ha! (And you should definitely come back to walk the Highline. It's one of my favorite things to do when I'm in the area or just need a little break or change of scenery. I try to go during less busy times of the day so I feel like I have more of the park to myself since it's so narrow). And if you do end up coming back a few more times, I hope you'll add Queens to your itinerary. There isn't a whole lot to do in terms of sightseeing but there's a lot of really good food. It's very international here cuisine-wise and relatively affordable compared to Manhattan or Brooklyn.

Janet Bargmann I lived in New York City for 24 years and worked there for 46 years but I live in Florida and I do not miss New York City 🌃. I never feel at home I came to New York City 🌃 1962 and live until 1985 then move to New Jersey and no look back. Never liked it because I am not to be living in big cities. I love long island and upper New York State. I lived in Florida and I missed it. I like towns houses 🏡 that what I like it. I am no good for New York and is the no 1 more expensive in housing or you are poor or rich but in the middle no way you have to pay for an apartment looks like your kitchen maybe 2, 000 dollars per month if you are lucky do not expect luxury only am bathrooms and one room. The real new Yorkers leave the city decades ago live in town or other states. Those people are immigrants from others countries a lot of them illegally there new ones. The ones who lives for generations are gone.

Subscribing already and this is the FIRST video of yours that I have ever watched. Very well done. I love your accent and both of your perspectives. I love the way you pronounce "Staten Island" in a very reasonable way, but NOT correct for the locals...which is just fine...you also alerted me to the cost of the Empire State Building ... no wonder that there was no line waiting to go up there !! I think once or twice in a lifetime at the top is worth the price. Central Park is a wonderful respite...New York City never sleeps...you have lots of reason to come back here !! Your video editing and sound mixing is professional, a reason I subscribed to your channel, and to find out more about your adventures in the USA and elsewhere.

As a native New Yorker, I would say Summer is the worst time to go because it is so hot and muggy. I like March through June and September through December. September to November is great for the Autumn temperatures. April and May are great because it is Spring. November and December are colder but it is the holiday season -- Thanksgiving and Christmas.
If I ever had to move back to NY and I had the money, I would choose to live in Manhattan.

Observation Deck of the ESB. A great island of silent and calm above the busy streets. My favorite place in NYC. And if you see the sunset from up there it’s even more beautiful.
High Line Park is also nice. Can be pretty crowded but this long uninterrupted walk above the streets is nice.

I'm pleased hat you found such an appreciation for New York, it truly is an incredible city and you will never run out of things to do, the museums alone are countless. No one who hasn't been there can possibly comprehend the skyline with even some of the minor buildings being a skyscraper and the center piece of most other cities, both old and new. .BTW, when in NY it's a subway, not a "metro", the natives won't understand what you are talking about if you refer to it in that way. New Yorkers do think they are at the center of the world, and they are right.

Great Review. NYC is so much more than the attractions though. My favorite things are just wandering around the neighborhoods and seeing how many different communities from all over the world just live here peacefully and co-exist with very little issues. New York City neighborhoods are living museums. You should check out some music venues next time your here, NYC is one of the world great music cities!
