I looked at this product several years ago, but the price was kind of a deal breaker. What I did was buy one of those cheapo 3-packs of allen wrenches from Harbor Freight. I loosened the screws, removed the wrenches and plastic spacer tray, and then made the same basic reviewed item. I used some of those binding posts that are used for wallpaper sample books for the keys, used some thin rubber grommets for spacers, and reassembled much like the product in the video. My cost for the 3-pack of wrenches was under 5 bucks. Binding posts came to another 4 or 5 bucks. Even with sales tax bumping my cost up into the $11 range, I made three homebrewed versions for a fraction of the retail price of one Key-Bar. There are cheap knock-off versions on Amazon for less than that; the overwhelmingly negative reviews speak volumes.
I'm not knocking the product at all. I just thought I'd mention a DIY alternative that could be done with a minimal investment of time and money.
That's a great idea! And I totally understand about the price. not everyone wants to spend that amount on a key organizer. I'm all for DIY solutions as well, as I've made a couple of paracord key organizers. Pretty cool that you created such a well thought out alternative!
@@TheWeaversofEternity Thank you. I've had several people do a double take at first, and then they get curious. You don't have the noise of a traditional keyring; you don't have to paw through the whole set to find the one you need, and the keys can be swiveled inward so you minimize tearing your pockets . . . and a carabiner or snap hook can be added easily enough.
I didn't even know they had a deep carry clip. I'm going to go pick that up right now. I usually carry a Civivi Elementum, and it always looks weird with the Keybar next to it, now they'll both have super deep clips.
how’d you get all your keys to fit neatly? mine can’t close all the way cuz they bump into each other unless i use a bunch of spacers to space each key away from the key on the opposite side
I'm just going to say that I am glad to see that you taped the sensitive keys
Thanks! I thought I was being a little paranoid, but better safe than sorry even though locks can be picked.
I've seen so many videos of why not to show your keys because all someone need is to know what a key is for and know the size and boom your in basically lol that is a really bad way of saying it but you get it
Will u make phone edges cover around all side boundary plz
How are the magnuts holding up? Has your keybar ever accidenty fallen off - for example when you were running ?
I just picked one up from a fleemart and it cost me 4 bucks, I will give it a try
Como faço pra conseguir um desses
I’ve overlooked Keybar in the past because I’m just not all that obsessed with key organization. However, after getting into Swiss Army Knives and plier-based multi tools (SOG PowerPint specifically) I got *very* keen on Keybar the moment I discovered that the tools are all modular. It’s not quite enough to tip me into buying one, but I’ll probably use it as a gateway drug for a friend or family member that I want to get hooked on the EDC lifestyle.
The tools are definitely a plus, but I would say getting it for the key organization would be the best reason to get one. Having some backup tools on the keybar does sweeten the deal, but they would never be as good as a dedicated SAK of course.
I really appreciate your honesty with that answer.
@@TheWeaversofEternity I use the KB *without* any keys. As a SAK, it has a superior grip to anything else ( especially for designs like _Slayer_ ) and one-hand operation. The bonus is you can add a decent size knife for its size.
That flash drive addition looks risky. I mean even if it's just those 3 keys with anodized aluminum housing, since there is no frame around the connector to fill out all the gaps around the plastic bit of the female port you're plugging this into, it puts a lot of strain on it. It's not the flash drive that is at risk of breaking, it's the port you plug it into.
Other than that this looks absolutely like something I'd get (and only use the USB flash drive in ports standing upright, which pretty much eliminates laptops... oh well).
Cool
You can't help but notice that the car key is next to the Key holder with other things, every car key must have a key holder just for this key with extended use the ignition lock tends to have too much clearance and repairs they are guys, this is advice from a driver who has been on the road for a few years, a strong hug from Portugal.
Thanks for pointing that out! This was always a concern of mine and since then I've made a quick release for my car key. I used a plastic side release buckle and some paracord to attach it to a key ring. I now separate the rest of my keys from my car key when it's in the ignition.
Good sultion, I already use 3 Paracord key rings, the 1st for the car, the 2nd for home and the 3rd for work, a big hug.
I don't see a spacer insert for a handcuff key!
That would be a useful attachment for sure! 😎
❤🔥👍
Definitely a cool product, however not all keys are flat and uniform :(
If anyone has a good solution for 3 completely different not-flat keys, please lmk lol
Have you seen my paracord key organizer videos? They are more forgiving and flexible to fitting keys into them. You can see them here: ruclips.net/video/zMpS4pPSzcE/видео.html ruclips.net/video/LTImGVfm0qQ/видео.html
@@TheWeaversofEternity This is awesome, thanks for the link!
Would a sander help?
Bro would lose the keybar and all his keys with that magnet quick release. Many people I know lost their tools the same way.
I guess this is sponsored?
No not sponsored, but since working on this video they have decided to sponsor some upcoming videos.
Anyone who could figure out your tumblers just by looking at your keys could just as easily pick your lock if they wanted. Tape is pretty unnecessary here
This is true, but we can't make it even easier for them than it already is, can we? 😁
🤷🏻♂️no lol
