Some more adjustments for the FrankenFicus I see. I can see the more spreading canopy you desire with those vertical parts now gone. Great video! Vehicles coming along nicely as well...
It’s alive!!!!!! You did the right thing. It looked like 3 trees on top of each other. Definitely keep the 2 branches from the lower tree. Frank has arms. Let’s get used to it.
Scary cut, but I believe that was a very good and big step into the right direction! And you got a nice cutting off of it, too. I hope that's also doing well.
Big cut, but you have a wonderful eye for what you want down the road. I think it looks much better now and is going to serve you well into getting that wide canopy down the road. Excited to follow the development in the following months!
Just wanted to say I like the two lower branches. In nature sometimes ficus seeds germinate up in the branches and grow roots downward and end up taking over the host tree, and to me that's what it resembles, so cool 😎. This tree is probably in top 3 favorite of Nigels trees.
I still remember watching the first video when the top was placed...First reaction was I need to try this.😮 Was also hoping that it would work to become a tree with various roots coming down. Amazing work Nigel.
I see you too have a ficus damaged by frost, it’s coming back with vengeance, they back bud all over in fight for survival. More than half the foliage was removed, would be Interesting to see at the next up date if the tree got your message and throws out new branches in line with your vision.
Love this tree. It is so vigorous and dense. Anyone interested in growing one similar to Nigel's, I haven't found what I believe to be the exact "Medium Leaf" type Nigel has, but I have searched and aquired a few varieties that might be comparable. The closest I've come to finding one like Nigel's is an unamed type that Eric from Bonsaify sells labeled "Weeping Fig Starter" leaves are a little smaller it seems but very nice. Another variety is F. benjamina 'Natasja,' leaves are smaller but grows dense.
Nice work on tree nigel. Maybe that cutting will go back ontop again 🤔. Cube car looks cool. Never seen one of them before. Looks like the parcel I sent you has got lost in the post 😢
@TheBonsaiZone definitely, you would regretted all the time then much later it would be impossible to do it becouse you will have everything oround developed.
Very true! i did a hard pruning on all my ficuses this year, all leaves removed as well. It’s been two weeks and they are barely leafing out. I’m a little worried, but wanted to get them into smaller, actual bonsai pots in August. Root work next week, but I’m going to have to take it extra easy on them for the next few years. They were pretty vigorous before I pruned, but I want to get lots of shoot options before I chop the roots.
Love the Nissan and the rim restoration was top notch but I have to ask...The lug nut pattern looks like it is for eight but I only see four lugs nuts...What's up with that?
Is that the original grille on the cube? I think it doesn’t really fit the car and the fitment isn’t that good🤔 If it was my car I would try to find another one, preferably a black one
No it's someone's attempt at a custom grill, I'm working on finding a stock one. There are some nice aftermarket ones that would look good also. Something will be done!! Thanks!
Hi Nigel,
One of your trees I like most.
Cheers from France ❤❤❤
Thank you! Cheers!
Beautiful tree, Thanks for all the things you teach,
You are so welcome!!!
Triple frankenficus is a fabulous idea!!
🤔 💭.....Only one way to find out.
If the cutting roots, we may have one in the future!!
Oh yeah close the big cutting in the forked trunk would be great.
Saluting your bravery, Nigel! Right decission IMHO.
I agree, the more I look at it, the happier I am with my decision!!! Thanks!!
I love the Franken Ficus - another cutting on top would be cool I think

It sure will shoot new shoots soon and hope you'll get a leader you like, I love the roots!
Thanks Izabela, I think it's going to work!!

Thanks Hans!!

Thanks Ryan, it will be interesting to see it at the end of summer!!

Thanks so much, I can't wait to see the tree at the end of summer!!!
Diggin the big chops today!
She is lookin great, good sir.
Thanks Yeti, I think it is a big step ahead for the tree!!
Thank you
Thanks Rachel!!
Really an interesting tree. Lets hope for some areal roots from that long low branch!
Thanks Jelle!!
Thank you for producing my oxygen, I appreciate it
Lol, just a wee bit!
I still remember watching the first video when the top was placed...First reaction was I need to try this.😮 Was also hoping that it would work to become a tree with various roots coming down. Amazing work Nigel.
Thanks, it's getting there!!
Nice exposed roots

Thanks Iqbal, I think it's going to work!!!
I'm loving the idea of a triple Frankenficus!!!
From the ugly duckling a beautiful swan emerged. Fingers crossed these cuts provide you with you with the branches you want. ❤
Thanks Birgitte!!

I got these trees from the Home Depot, many years ago. I don't think I've seen any others like these.
Franken is looking much better now....definitely some hard decisions and pruning today...👍👍
Thanks Dave, yes, the more I look at it, the happier I am!!
Great job on the wheels!!!
Nice job on the hood!
Bondo could be used to smooth out the fiberglass inserts.
I'm surprised he didn't add fins.
Thanks 👍 Yes, the work continues!!!
I don’t think you’ll regret cutting the top of! Through the whole video I silently wished you would cut it right where you did!
Nice work on tree nigel. Maybe that cutting will go back ontop again 🤔. Cube car looks cool. Never seen one of them before. Looks like the parcel I sent you has got lost in the post 😢
I just checked the mail, nothing yet. The Cube is so weird that I like it!!!
Let’s do a triple tree ! It will be incredible !
🥰❤❤🥰
This tree is so unusual.
👌👍👌
Foist!
Nice work, Nigel, but if that is my tree, I would shorten that vertical branches hard. Ok, you did it will I was typing .
Thanks, I think it was a good move!!
@TheBonsaiZone definitely, you would regretted all the time then much later it would be impossible to do it becouse you will have everything oround developed.
I think it looks better, but the branch to the left is bugging me. I feel like it needs to be reduced by half.
Yes, I think that will be coming! I can only take so much hard pruning at once, lol!!

@@jamesn7156 It usually takes 3 to 4 weeks before they leaf out with vigor, I'm sure it will happen!
Do the triple planting have it really live up to it's name, which is why i like it kinda ugly.
Love the Nissan and the rim restoration was top notch but I have to ask...The lug nut pattern looks like it is for eight but I only see four lugs nuts...What's up with that?
The wheels are made to fit two different bolt patterns 114 mm and 100 mm.
@@TheBonsaiZone Interesting, I've never seen multiple bolt pattern on the same rim...Clever...Thanks for clearing that up...

What´s the story of the skeleton hanging om the right?
Upcoming 🎃 👻 tree.
Yes, a future Halloween tree planting coming!!
WIRE THE BRANCH
NO
Both the lower branches r main contributor to awkward n ugliness....they needs to go. It will beautify the ficus
Yes, that may come some day!
cant get past your wild hair, so trimming bonsai by you is moot.
Please send me a picture of yourself Frank, without seeing your hair, your comment is moot!
