A project is a project! This side build, side fix should always be added to your channel… taking a little break from your main project is somewhat interesting! If your thoughts of some mini diy ideas just screaming to be build, stop your car build and do it! This mini projects keeps you happy and motivated.. I as a viewer plus a bunch of us “RUclips watchers” are always looking forward to see what you plan to do! Keep that positive attitude pumping and enjoy another successful moment!
Suggestion - your tractor pin for your winch mount drill out the pin hole to 5/16 and put pad lock in it to lock your winch to the trailer and make it removable still.
I mounted my 8K winch to a trailer hitch bracket, mounted a receiver on the front of the trailer. I can pull the winch off with 1 pin, and store it in the shop. I also use the winch on my truck without a trailer, or i put it on boxblade of my tractor connected to a receiver i mounted there. Best options for a winch, winch remote, snatch blocks, short chains. I like the trailer. Great video as usual. I also wired in both trailer plug types. Drives me crazy when someone borrows my trailer and cuts into wiring to adapt to their vehicle.
Wow your craftsmanship is amazing... if I had tools and equipment like that I would buy every crashed car hauler I could find.... and the epoxy paint job looks so much better then factory you should have painted the entire thing
You made that fix look easy! My only suggestion is to put the battery in a battery box with a solar charger mounted on top of it to trickle charge the battery when parked. Keep up the awesome work!
If you're ever winching anything thats wrecked (or with a locked up/flat wheel) that keeps going to 1 side when you try to pull straight, you can make another stake accessory to attach a snatch block on either side
I just randomly came across this video. And i gotta say, nice work man! I really enjoyed this video and am definitely gonna be checking out what else youve got!
Man I wish I saw this video sooner my family owns eagle and would have loved to supply you with the replacement pieces turned out amazing. If you ever decide to upgrade to a tilt let me know 😜
Owning a trailer is like winning the lotto. You will now have friends you never knew you had coming around. LOL PS you should add a fairlead to the winch mount. Mount the battery in the box and get some quick connect ends for the cables. Wire your truck if it isn't already to charge the battery.
Hi Austin. I wanna start welding as a hobby. Please do some how to videos for begginers or add some tips in your videos. I also have an FJ40 and I wanna make myself the front and back bumpers.
should consider a retractable tarp, similar to whats on a dump truck. Its worth protecting the better than OEM fit an finish you have done on the trailer.
I would have checked the welds, rewelded whichever ones had cracked, and maybe threw in some cross bracing between a handful of the pieces and sent it lol they aren’t really bent that bad and honestly I wouldn’t have gone through a lot of the work you did lol not that your work isn’t top notch! But I’m a bit lazy haha
You should char the deck boards with a torch and char your logo into it. That would look sick!

Awesome trailer repair mate. great content to watch you reconstruct all the bits to replace the bent bits

Put Old oil. And diesel mix. On wood to make last longer and look newer on the wood will repel water . ❤❤❤❤❤❤loved it
I was impressed by seeing this video. I'm Andy from Indonesia..,
Man I swear having that plasma table should be considered cheating haha. It makes life so much easier.
Did a great job on the repairs. Came out looking nice. Only pro tip I got is maybe stainless steel screws for the next one.

Nice work. That trailer will be in the fleet for years.

Man everything he touch is gold , solid build austin
Great job on the repair. 👍
Awesome build bro! Your welding skills are a1
this was bad ass video saving that trailer. putting that pin up higher through the box to keep the wench plate from lifting would have been dope.
Nice job buddy but I would have added a roller at the end of the trailer for your winch cable angle when pulling a vehicle or…..

A soft shackle and snatch block work great for pulling from a side pocket.
Best fabricator on RUclips
love this trailer rebuild and torching your deck boards will make them more water resistant.
Good job. I rebuild trailers also and build a few. But I also have a plasma table and it makes nice work of everything..
Great video ! The trailer looks good and should haul the FJ with ease.
Looks good, great find
Cool deal and project!
Really glad you did a video on this. Love seeing your attention to detail.
👍👍👌👌 Nice work! Needs thompson's water seal on the deck. 😉😉
awesome work. love your attention to detail.
My trailer had an up side down hitch welded to it . Works pretty good and you can get those cheap.
you make even the casual trailer videos sick as phuck haha. strong work dude that thing came out awesome
Just a small tip, change out your steel winch lines on both the trailer and the FJ, you’ll thank yourself later 😊
Would really love to see some content with the 7.3
Realy great job, smart and efficient 👍👍
Nice job!
I just randomly came across this video. And i gotta say, nice work man! I really enjoyed this video and am definitely gonna be checking out what else youve got!
Looks great!
Awesome vid as always! When are we gonna see the ford get some love? Poor girl is just a workhorse lol
Well done as always.
The dedication to quality never ceases to amaze me.

You are not getting old and lazy. Just getting older and wiser. That's what I always tell myself, anyway.
When a DIY trailer repair hooks you for 20 mins 😂
You should build that white ford truck. That would be awesome to watch.
with as much paint as you sling an external full sized paintbooth should be on top of your list. Hate seeing you spray your concrete lol
Love the channel dude! When you getting more under hood lights?
It looks amazing! Thanks for the video.
Totaled and Totaled 🙈 frame was fine, but Nice project😃
Handy having a plasma cutter Austin
You do great work
What will be your go to source of power for the winch? Will it just have its own battery? Awesome work as always!
It’s not fair! He has tools and knowledge and skills. 😢
should consider a retractable tarp, similar to whats on a dump truck. Its worth protecting the better than OEM fit an finish you have done on the trailer.
This is the kind of video I like so don't apologize for it
Well Done!
You should use Anderson plugs for the winch.
Basic dude stuff 🧢🇺🇸🔧🛠️⚒️🤘👋💪😎🤙👏
That Winch plate is trick!! Would you sell the Cut file? That would be perfect for my trailer!!
😎
Great EP Austin 👍🏼 that trailer is looking mint 🔥 better then factory😅
faltó un "AVR Custom en la barra de atrás con el CNC. jaja
Looks great! Do you have a link to the amazon box?
I just added that to the description!

Nice
👍👍👍😎😎😎
SWEET
What type of holder did you use for the winch?
Agree char the boards Japanese know how 🤔 🤣
Im not sure if you have one ,but you need a 2x72"belt grinder ....
Winch should be on the triangle upfront
I was surprised you didn't just cut off the stake pocket and make one that was the size you wanted. Looks great in the end though.
Well now I can put the winch in any other stake pocket if need be!
@@austinniemela good point
loved it
Surprised you didn't stain and seal the deck boards with as detailed of a job you do.
Nice
👍🏽🇺🇸👍🏽
For the paint.. could of gone with bed liner
Where did you find a totaled car trailer I’m curious
At the totaled car trailer store. Where else... 😂
im sure this was a welcomed distraction from all of the frustations of the FJ40
Why do you all the trailers in the US have timber boards instead of something like checker plate?
What do you do for a living
No dovetail?
I would have flipped the board over and sealed them.
Complet first fj40
What banifit woodan and metal ground please answar this am needs for the 😴💭
I don’t think the witch should move
Wats up with all these RUclipsrs welding downhill?
Awesome job dude, as always you went 300% further on that than I would have but that’s why I love this channel. 🫣🤣🤗
