Are you sure the green wire doesn’t belong on the driver’s side? My green wire is too short to reach over to the ground screw. If I switch the yellow over to the passenger side, then my ground wire will reach the ground screw. ☹️
I had a 7am appointment at U-Haul and the tech was late. Picked up my 2015 Sienna today and was handed the wiring harness. Tech had given up. Still have a $97.50 charge for installation. Was told to find someone else to do the wiring. SMH
How about using the 12v port but use a 12v plug so when the trailer wiring is plugged in and the socket is used exclusively. running the power wire under the car seems like an unnecessary effort.
If you have a 12V power source that you dont use, then that is a perfect option. However, we follow the manufacturer instructions for installation and they instruct to run the power wire under the vehicle. Both options work.
One downside of doing that is that if there's a short in a trailer's wiring, it could damage the electronics in the vehicle. But a lot of people do that, especially if their trailer has LED lights.
Thanks for the great video. Very well done.
Glad you enjoyed it!
